Free agent WR Jerheme Urban worked out for the Titans on Tuesday.
Per ESPN's Chris Mortensen, the tryout went well. Mort also passed along that Mike Sims-Walker's Titans workout was "not so good." With the Titans intent on adding veteran insurance for Kenny Britt, Urban looks more likely to get a call. Tue, Jul 24, 2012 08:14:00 PM

Jerheme Urban caught two passes for 28 yards and a touchdown in Kansas City's Week 14 loss to the Jets.

The two catches double Urban's season total after he ran as a starter for much of training camp. Although Urban's touchdown was a hard fought grab in traffic, consider today a fluke for a player who has been active just six times this year.

Chiefs declared WR Jerheme Urban, QB Ricky Stanzi, CB Javier Arenas, S Jon McGraw, OL Steve Maneri, DE Brandon Bair, and NT Jerrell Powe inactive for Week 9 against the Dolphins.

Arenas' absence is a blow to Kansas City's nickel package. The Chiefs may use Travis Daniels as their third cornerback now, between Brandon Flowers and Brandon Carr. Urban has been a healthy scratch since early in the season.

Jerheme Urban has been working as the Chiefs' starter opposite Dwayne Bowe in training camp.

Beat writer Adam Teicher expects it to stay that way into the regular season, with Steve Breaston manning the slot. Urban has long been a Todd Haley favorite, and he had a strong camp last year before a hand injury ruined his season. Rookie Jonathan Baldwin is undraftable outside of keeper formats.

Jerheme Urban is expected to compete for a roster spot behind Dwayne Bowe and Jonathan Baldwin this summer.

With no receiver stepping up opposite Bowe last season, the Chiefs ended up missing Urban more than expected. The journeyman is now healthy after spending the entire 2010 season on I.R. with a torn flexor tendon on his right hand. Urban has special teams experience, which will help his chances of making the final roster.

The injury that landed Chiefs WR Jerheme Urban on injured reserve was a torn flexor tendon in the ring finger on his right hand.

Urban sustained the injury while run blocking in the preseason finale. He was scheduled to undergo surgery Tuesday, with a 10-12 week recovery timetable. Urban was being counted on as a special teamer and No. 4 receiver. He's under contract for $640,000 in 2011.

Chiefs placed WR Jerheme Urban on injured reserve, ending his season.

Urban's injury is undisclosed, but his fate was sealed when he dropped two catchable balls in the preseason finale. With Urban out of the picture, rookie Dexter McCluster has slot receiver duties to himself this season.

According to the Chiefs official website, WR Jerheme Urban is "in line for the most extensive action of his career."

Matt Cassel has been looking to Urban on mid-level routes as a reliable target throughout OTAs. He and rookie Dexter McCluster will likely have niche roles as the No. 3 and No. 4 receivers, limiting their snaps. We don't have high hopes for the Chiefs fantasy WRs beyond Dwayne Bowe and Chris Chambers.

The Chiefs think newly signed Jerheme Urban can be a very solid No. 3 WR, according to ESPN's Bill Williamson.

This is more of a reflection on the Chiefs' receiving corps than it is Urban. They can almost certainly find an upgrade at the third wideout spot in the middle rounds of the draft.

Chiefs signed WR Jerheme Urban.

The former Cardinal is snapped up by his former coach Todd Haley. Urban has good size and caught 34 passes in 2008, but he's a classic fourth receiver at best. Luckily for him, the Chiefs don't even have a true third wideout. As it stands, Urban has a good chance to make the Week 1 roster.

The Cardinals opted to not extend tenders to WR Jerheme Urban, TE Stephen Spach, FB Justin Green, S Hamza Abdullah, and C Ben Claxton, making them unrestricted free agents.

Urban is the biggest name here. The Cards were unimpressed with his play at receiver last year, and he's no longer a big factor on special teams. Other than Spach, the rest of the non-tendered players are annually roster fodder.

Beat writer Kent Somers says not to count on WR Jerheme Urban being on the Cardinals in 2010.

Urban, an impending free agent, lost a critical fumble in Saturday's season-ending loss to the Saints. He was passed on the depth chart by Early Doucet and isn't much more than a No. 4 receiver in the NFL.

Cardinals declared WR Jerheme Urban, CB Greg Toler, LB Reggie Walker, LB Will Davis, OL Herman Johnson, OL Brandon Keith, and TE Stephen Spach inactive for Monday Night Football against San Francisco.

Brian St. Pierre is the third quarterback. Early Doucet is active over Urban. There are no big-name players listed as questionable for this game other than Cards LT Mike Gandy (pelvis), who is active and expected to start.

Cardinals declared WR Jerheme Urban, TE Stephen Spach, TE Dominique Byrd, third QB Brian St. Pierre, S Rashad Johnson, LB Chike Okeafor, OL Herman Johnson, and OL Brandon Keith inactive for Week 11.

Urban's deactivation confirms that he's fallen behind Early Doucet on the depth chart. Steve Breaston is active as usual. Bertrand Berry and rookie Will Davis will share snaps in place of Okeafor at weak outside linebacker.

Jerheme Urban would be the Cardinals' No. 3 receiver Sunday if Anquan Boldin (ankle) can't play.

Urban is clearly ahead of Early Doucet on the depth chart. When Steve Breaston sat out and Boldin was very limited in Week 1, Urban had five catches for 74 yards. He'll be a low upside option for Boldin owners.
