J.P. Losman completed 6-of-10 passes for 60 yards in Sunday's game against the Eagles.
Losman finished the game for Matt Moore, who left in the fourth quarter with a head injury. He managed to convert two critical third downs before middling on his next three drives. If Moore's not healthy enough to play next week, he would get the start against his former team in Buffalo. Check back later this week for an update. Sun, Dec 11, 2011 05:51:00 PM

Dolphins signed QB J.P. Losman, formerly of the Seahawks.

Losman replaces Sage Rosenfels as the primary backup in Miami in a week where Matt Moore is dealing with bruised ribs. Out of the league the first two months of the season, Losman has attempted just one NFL pass since losing the Bills starting job in 2008. He holds a career 10-23 record as a starter with a 59.2 completion percentage and 75.6 passer rating. The entire Fins passing game would be hands-off if Losman is forced into action.

Seahawks declared third QB J.P. Losman, CB Marcus Brown, LB Joe Pawelek, OLs Paul Fanaika, Lemuel Jeanpierre, and Breno Giacomini, DL Amon Gordon, and S Josh Pinkard inactive for Week 18.

Matt Hasselbeck is active and starting, as expected, with Charlie Whitehurst ready in case he aggravates his hip strain. Seattle is in much better shape physically than New Orleans, but the Saints still have far more talent.

Seahawks re-signed QB J.P. Losman.

Losman will replace rookie Zac Robinson as Seattle's third quarterback. A career journeyman at this point, he won't play barring multiple injuries.

In addition to JaMarcus Russell, the Redskins also worked out free agent QB J.P. Losman on Tuesday.

The Redskins had more than a dozen free agents in Tuesday, but no signings are imminent. Losman has thrown just one NFL pass in the past two years.

Seahawks released QB J.P. Losman.

Multiple observers in Seahawks camp noted that Losman looked like a more game-ready backup option than Charlie Whitehurst, but allegedly competition-crazed Pete Carroll never gave Losman a chance. Seattle will go with two QBs for now, but that could change when Matt Leinart hits free agency.

According to SI.com's Jim Trotter, "observers contend" that J.P. Losman is beating out Charlie Whitehurst to be the Seahawks' No. 2 quarterback.

Whitehurst's draft-weekend acquisition is already looking like a bust, and first-year GM John Schneider may draw the brunt of the blame. Either way, it's become clearer and clearer daily that Matt Hasselbeck's starting job is safe.

Seahawks agreed to terms with QB J.P. Losman on a one-year, $630,000 contract.

That explains the decision to dump fourth QB Mike Reilly after just two weeks on the roster. Seattle's Mike Teel is a promising developmental prospect, but he may not have the mobility desired by coach Pete Carroll and coordinator Jeremy Bates. Losman will battle Teel for the No. 3 QB job. He didn't come close to seeing the field with a desperate Raiders team late last season.

Raiders coach Tom Cable described newly signed J.P. Losman as an "emergency" quarterback for the stretch run.

"(He's) a guy that’s got some experience in the league," Cable added. "He kind of fits for us to have an emergency guy in here. He’s familiar with a little bit of how we call things. So he’ll help in that area." Cable's comments don't seem to indicate that the Raiders plan to play Losman down the stretch.

Raiders signed QB J.P. Losman, formerly of the Bills.

Profootballtalk.com had the report first, and it's since been confirmed by the Oakland Tribune. The Colts were also interested in Losman, but the Raiders beat them to the punch. Losman's development under Jim Fassel with the UFL champion Las Vegas Locomotives reportedly ignited Oakland's interest. If Monday's comments are any indication, coach Tom Cable still prefers even a kneeless Bruce Gradkowski to JaMarcus Russell. It wouldn't be a surprise to see Losman in game action as soon as Week 16.

The Colts are reportedly interested in signing free agent QB J.P. Losman.

The UFL star likely would have been signed already, but the Colts are having roster issues on a short week. With Jim Sorgi out for the season, Losman would act as the Colts' No. 3 QB behind Curtis Painter.

Free agent J.P. Losman worked out for the Colts earlier this week.

Losman wasn't signed by is free to sign with any team now that the UFL season is through. The 28-year-old led the Las Vegas Locos to the UFL title late last month, winning it 20-17 over Brooks Bollinger's Florida Tuskers.

Former Bills first-round pick J.P. Losman revealed Tuesday night that he has signed with Las Vegas of the United Football League.

Las Vegas is coached by ex-Giants head man Jim Fassel. Losman is now the UFL's highest-profile player, not that it's saying much. The 28-year-old said he had conversations with the Broncos and Panthers about taking a backup job before opting for a likely starting gig in the first-year, upstart league.

According to UFL Access, former Bills quarterback J.P. Losman is scheduled to sign with Las Vegas of the United Football League.

Losman, a first-round pick in 2004, will have a hard time shedding his "bust" label in the UFL. He would be coached by Jim Fassel.

The Charlotte Observer considers the Panthers "highly unlikely" to pursue free agent J.P. Losman.

However, the Observer seems to be treating a Losman signing as a threat to Jake Delhomme's starting job. We're quite confident that Carolina would only pursue Losman as a backup to compete with Josh McCown and Matt Moore.
