ESPN's Adam Schefter reports free agent DE Antwan Odom is continuing to prepare for a return to the NFL.
Odom has been out of the league nearly two entire seasons, but has trained for a comeback all offseason. Slapped with a four-game PED suspension in 2010, Odom was arrested for possession of marijuana in December, and was recovering from wrist surgery as recently as April. Two months shy of his 31st birthday, Odom will be a pure flier if he manages to land a contract. Mon, Jul 9, 2012 05:15:00 PM

The Broncos and Ravens are reportedly monitoring free agent DE Antwan Odom to see if he can help their teams later this summer.

Out of the league since early in the 2010 season, Odom just began lifting weights several weeks ago in large part due to complications from wrist surgery. "He will be ready to go in July," Odom's agent said. "He's starting to get into the full mode now." Now 30, Odom hasn't recorded a sack in over two and a half years.

Free agent DE Antwan Odom (wrist) is reportedly about a month away from a return.

Odom has been out of the league since Week 4 of the 2010 due to wrist, Achilles and off-field issues. But back in 2009, he did pile up eight sacks in the first six games of the season. The Falcons and Titans are monitoring his progress, according to's Jason La Canfora.

Ex-Bengals DE Antwan Odom was arrested Thursday for possession of marijuana after a traffic stop in Alabama.

Because they smelled marijuana, police searched his car and found a gun and two blunts. Currently a free agent, the 30-year-old has been out of football since the Bengals released him following the lockout. Odom was shot in the leg back in August.

Free agent DE Antwan Odom was shot in the leg early Monday, according to WKRG's Jessica Taloney.

The shooting reportedly happened around 4:30 a.m. in Irvington, Alabama, near Odom's hometown of Mobile. Odom's injuries are not considered life-threatening. The ex-Bengal was released three weeks ago as he struggled to return to form after a 2009 Achilles' tendon tear.

Bengals released DE Antwan Odom.

Chalk another one up to injuries. After piling up eight sacks in the first six games of 2009, Odom blew out his Achilles. He tried to return last season, but managed just four ineffective games before getting suspended for violating the substance-abuse policy and injuring his wrist. Odom will be 30 in September and can't be counted on as a starting-caliber player.

A fire caused "extensive" damage to Bengals DE Antwan Odom's home in Ohio Tuesday.

"Heavy flames" were still coming from the roof when Mason (OH) firefighters arrived at the scene. The fire department was apparently called by neighbors, because the Odom family wasn't there. Odom's house is valued at $1.1 million.
Tue, Mar 15, 2011 09:28:00 AM suggests that RE Antwan Odom's time with the team may be over after another injury-ruined season.

Injury prone before he got to Cincy, Odom has missed 26 of a possible 48 games over the last three seasons, including 22 in the last two. The Bengals may be ready to move on with Michael Johnson as their starting right end, opposite Carlos Dunlap. Robert Geathers would then be a rotational end.

Bengals placed RE Antwan Odom (wrist) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Odom is still recovering from a wrist surgery that he underwent while on suspension for violating the NFL's policy on substance abuse. One year after racking up eight sacks in six games, Odom was held without a sack while appearing in just three games. The Bengals have no pass rush when he's not in the lineup, so he may return at $4.5 million in 2011 even if he's only played 21 of 48 games in hist three-year stint in Cincinnati.

Bengals activated RE Antwan Odom from the reserve/suspended list.

Odom was suspended for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy, which he claimed resulted from medication taken for headaches. Either way, Odom sat out four games and is also coming off wrist surgery. If he does play in Week 12, it would likely only be in a situational role off the bench.

Bengals RE Antwan Odom revealed Wednesday that he recently underwent surgery to repair a broken wrist.

Odom is eligible for activation from the reserve/suspended list, but doesn't expect to play "for a couple of more weeks." The Bengals' pass rush has continued to flounder without Odom, who's only appeared in four games this season. Only Tampa Bay has fewer sacks than Cincinnati's AFC-worst nine.
Wed, Nov 17, 2010 08:21:00 PM

Bengals RE Antwan Odom has officially been suspended four games for violating the NFL's policy on substance abuse.

News of Odom's pending suspension broke over a month ago, but he thought he had a good chance to have it overturned on appeal. As with most cases, the suspension was upheld. The news comes at the best possible time for Odom, who was already expected to miss 2-3 weeks with a knee injury. The suspension will not kick in until Week 7, however. Odom has yet to register a sack this year for a Bengals defense with just six takedowns on the season. Michael Johnson and Jonathan Fanene are the top candidates to fill in.

Bengals DE Antwan Odom (knee) is likely to miss at least the next 2-3 games.

Odom suffered a knee injury in the fourth quarter Sunday and was wearing a brace on his right knee Wednesday, though the specifics about the injury aren't known yet. Odom has been backing up this year and has yet to register a sack.
Thu, Oct 14, 2010 09:51:00 AM

Bengals DE Antwan Odom left Sunday's game late in the fourth quarter with an apparent right leg injury.

It's a concern because Odom is coming off a ruptured right Achilles tendon. The injury prone pass rusher was playing off the bench behind Michael Johnson anyway, so Odom is not on the IDP radar despite last year's early-season breakout.
Mon, Oct 11, 2010 09:34:00 AM

Bengals declared RE Antwan Odom, CB Pacman Jones, QB Dan LeFevour, RB Cedric Peerman, C Stephens, DE Jonathan Fanene, OT Andre Smith, and WR Jerome Simpson inactive for Week 3 at Carolina.

Odom was limited in practice all week with a sprained left wrist that was in a hard cast. He's Cincinnati's lone consistent pass-rushing presence, so it's welcome news for Jimmy Clausen in his first start.
