Redskins waived DL Darrion Scott.

Scott failed to record a tackle this season, and Pro Football Focus doesn't credit him with a single defensive snap. He was out of the league for the majority of 2009 and 2010.

Redskins re-signed DL Darrion Scott.

Scott was with the Redskins in training camp but was cut just before the season began. The four-year veteran will provide depth with Ma'ake Kemoeatu landing on injured reserve.

Scott, 28, hadn't been heard from since 2008 when the Redskins signed him in April. He did lead the Vikings in sacks in 2006.

Redskins signed DL Darrion Scott, formerly of the Vikings.

Scott, 28, hasn't been heard from since serving a three-game suspension to open the 2008 season for violating the NFL's conduct code. His listed size was 6'3/289, so Scott figures to play end in the Skins' 3-4 scheme. The former Ohio State Buckeye's best season was '06, when he had 5.5 sacks.

NFL suspended free agent DL Darrion Scott three games for violating the league's conduct policy.

Scott pleaded guilty to child endangerment last week. He got a tryout with New England in April, but will have a hard time finding work in the NFL again.

Free agent DL Darrion Scott pleaded guilty to child endangerment Monday for putting a plastic bag over the head of his two-year-old son.

The charge is considered a "gross misdemeanor." Scott claims he had no intention of hurting the boy and was just fooling around. Scott's lawyer says two felony charges of assault will be dismissed on July 24.

Free agent DL Darrion Scott has been formally charged for allegedly assaulting his son last week.

Scott faces two felony charges and a misdemeanor. The boy's mother allegedly found Scott holding a dry cleaning bag over the two-year-old child's head on April 26. Scott told police the two were playing a game with the bag, and Scott wanted to see if the boy could get the bag off his head by himself.

Updating a previous item, free agent DL Darrion Scott was arrested on Wednesday for three charges: felony assault, domestic assault, and malicious punishment of a child.

It will be awfully tough for Scott to stir up interest after this. He previously had offseason visits with the Patriots and Redskins.

Free agent DL Darrion Scott was arrested Wednesday for "probable cause felony assault" in Eden Prarie.

This should put to an end any interest the Patriots may have had. A search warrant is out for Scott, who was cited for marijuana possession in December. He hasn't been a big name on the free agent market for obvious reasons.

Free agent DL Darrion Scott visited with the Patriots on Thursday.

Scott, who led the Vikings in sacks in 2006, has talent but missed 2007 with a broken foot and was cited for marijuana possession in December.

Vikings DE Darrion Scott was cited for misdemeanor possession of marijuana Wednesday.

Scott was uncooperative with police who noticed the smell of burnt pot in his car, and asked "Don't you know who I am?" It's unclear if he was being ironic. Scott, who is on injured reserve, could argue that he was seeking out marijuana's medicinal benefits, but will likely be suspended if found guilty. This just about crushes the impending free agent's stock.

Vikings placed DL Darrion Scott on injured reserve with a broken foot.

Scott broke his foot in practice on Monday and will need surgery. Coach Brad Childress called the injury a "Jones" fracture, as opposed to a Lisfranc. The team signed OL Brian Daniels from the practice squad to take Scott's spot. Erasmus James could start being active on game days.

Vikings re-signed DE Darrion Scott to a one-year, $850,000 contract.

The sides have been working on a long-term contract, but Minnesota may want Scott to show he can hold down a substantial role while competing with Ray Edwards, Kenechi Udeze, and Erasmus James for playing time. It's possible Scott will receive an extension during the season.
