Patrick Crayton caught three passes for 37 yards with a touchdown in the Chargers' Week 14 win over the Bills.
Crayton was the clear No. 4 option in the passing game, seeing just three targets all day. On his 26-yard touchdown catch, he faked like he was going out of bounds and then broke three tackles on his way to the house. That won't happen against the Ravens next week. Sun, Dec 11, 2011 07:45:00 PM

Patrick Crayton had three receptions for 50 yards in Week 8 against the Chiefs.

He had just 16 yards in the three games prior to this week, and he should be ignored in fantasy leagues as a marginal member of the Chargers' passing attack.

Making his season debut, Patrick Crayton had five catches for 47 yards in Sunday's win over the Chiefs.

Crayton racked up seven targets with Malcom Floyd (groin) limited. He worked the slot nicely, coming up with a huge 23-yard catch over the middle for a key first-down in the second half. But on most days, Crayton will be no better than fourth on the receiving totem pole in San Diego.

Coach Norv Turner indicated that Patrick Crayton (ankle) will not be eased in to action in his 2011 debut this week.

With Malcom Floyd out, Crayton will "play a lot" against the Chiefs. If the Bolts get out to a big lead, as expected, they'll likely take the air out of the ball. Look elsewhere for a starter this week.

Coach Norv Turner hinted that Patrick Crayton will be active in Week 3 regardless of Malcom Floyd's (groin) status.

With Floyd in doubt for Sunday's game against the Chiefs, it's possible Crayton will see significant snaps. But he's not completely over the scope on his ankle and expectations should be kept very low. Crayton would rotate with the likes of Bryan Walters, Vincent Brown, and Richard Goodman.

Chargers declared WR Patrick Crayton, WR Vincent Brown, LE Luis Castillo, LB Darryl Gamble, LB Jonas Mouton, CB Shareece Wright and RB Jordan Todman inactive for Week 2 against the Patriots.

Crayton resumed practicing in full week this week, but isn't completely over the arthroscopic ankle operation he underwent in mid-August. Bryan Walters will again takes his place in the slot. Third-round pick Brown is still trying to get up to speed after missing a large majority of training camp with a quad injury.

Patrick Crayton (ankle) has resumed practicing in full.

Crayton is on track to resume slot duties against the Patriots, sending Bryan Walters back to the bench. Crayton won't carry fantasy value as the fourth or fifth option in the passing game.

Patrick Crayton (ankle) participated in Chargers practice on Wednesday.

Crayton was held out of Week 1's win over the Vikings, but is trending toward being active against the Patriots on Sunday. However, he's unlikely to be at full health, and won't be a strong fantasy play even with the Chargers taking on a New England pass defense that allowed 416 yards to Chad Henne on Monday.

The Chargers are "pushing" WR Patrick Crayton to play in Week 2 after he missed the opener with an ankle injury.

The plan is to have Crayton out on the practice field Wednesday, rather than ease him in on Thursday or Friday. Crayton is a solid slot receiver and helps Philip Rivers' cause, but he won't be a fantasy option next week at New England.

Chargers declared WR Patrick Crayton, WR Vincent Brown, RB Jordan Todman, LB Larry English, LB Na'il Diggs, LB Jonas Mouton, and CB Shareece Wright inactive for Week 1 against the Vikings.

Crayton, Brown and Mouton all did not practice this week and were expected to sit out. Bryan Walters is filling in as the No. 3 receiver. English is healthy, but the coaches want him to get a few more practices under his belt before playing.

The San Diego Union-Tribune considers Patrick Crayton (ankle) "doubtful" for Week 1 against the Vikings.

Crayton recently tried to practice, but couldn't make it through just two weeks removed from ankle surgery. He had to shut it down late and will now aim for Week 2. Undrafted rookie Bryan Walters is expected to man the slot against Minnesota, but won't command many targets. Antonio Gates might get a few more.

Chargers WR Patrick Crayton (ankle) missed practice again on Thursday.

Rookie Vincent Brown is still playing catch-up after missing most of camp, leaving Bryan Walters to take Crayton's reps in the slot. At this point, it looks like the Chargers will be without Crayton for the opener.

Chargers WR Patrick Crayton (ankle) was held out of Wednesday's practice.

Three Chargers missed the workout, and beat reporter Kevin Acee considers Crayton "the most likely to play out of that group" against the Vikings in Week 1. He just isn't fantasy viable as the fourth option in San Diego's passing game.
Wed, Sep 7, 2011 07:14:00 PM

Chargers WR Patrick Crayton returned to practice Monday after undergoing ankle surgery on August 22.

The plan all along was for Crayton to return this week so he'd be ready for the opener against Minnesota. Vincent Brown remains limited after a lingering hamstring injury. Crayton will open as the Chargers' primary slot receiver.

Chargers WR Patrick Crayton will miss 10-14 days after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his ankle.

The procedure was done to remove bone spurs, the result of buildup over the 32-year-old Crayton's career. Rookie slot receiver Vincent Brown (hamstring) is due back at practice on Tuesday, and could make a push for early-season snaps with Crayton sidelined. This is a position to avoid in 12-team leagues.
