Raiders re-signed CB Joselio Hanson.
The Raiders signed the slot corner after he was released at final cuts by the Eagles last season, and he went on to play 571 snaps. With Tracy Porter and Mike Jenkins expected to man the outside, Hanson should remain at nickel back in 2013. Going on 32, Hanson graded out positively in Pro Football Focus' ratings last season, and notched two picks and a forced fumble. Apr 9 - 5:43 PM

Raiders signed CB Joselio Hanson, formerly of the Eagles.

One of the biggest names released at final cuts, it took Hanson all of three days to find a new job. A nickel corner who's appeared in at least 15 games five times in the past six seasons, Hanson will help settle the Raiders' shaky secondary, though he won't be of assistance outside the slot. Oakland is entering Week 1 with some combination of Ron Bartell, Demarcus Van Dyke and Shawntae Spencer on the outside. Hanson has just four career picks.

Free agent CB Joselio Hanson has scheduled a visit with the Raiders.

It's Hanson's first known visit since getting cut loose by the Eagles on Friday. The Raiders have one of the league's more up-in-the-air secondaries, so it's quite possible Hanson won't escape Oakland without a contract.

Eagles released CB Joselio Hanson.

Hanson, who doesn't play special teams, got beat out by fourth-round rookie Brandon Boykin for the nickel corner job. He'll latch on elsewhere as an inside corner with 104 games of NFL experience.

Coach Andy Reid said that Joselio Hanson remains the front-runner for the slot corner job.

It's a job Hanson has held for several years. He'll have to stay in front of impressive fourth-round rookie Brandon Boykin to ensure a roster spot.

The Eagles have informed Joselio Hanson that he will have to beat out rookie Brandon Boykin for the team's slot corner job.

Hanson's roster spot may also hang in the balance because he doesn't help in other areas and is owed an $825K salary, more than twice as much as Boykin. In all likelihood, Boykin will be eased in on special teams while Hanson opens the season as the Eagles' top slot corner. Boykin should take over by 2013.

Eagles re-signed CB Joselio Hanson to a two-year contract.

The Eagles released Hanson on Saturday thanks to the $7.6 million that was left over the final three years of his contract. Surprisingly, no one made a strong play on the capable nickel corner. So now the Eagles get Hanson back at a discounted rate. He'll slide right into his old No. 4 corner spot.

The Rams might consider free agent CB Joselio Hanson "if the price is right," according to the St. Louis Post Dispatch.

Hanson was cut by the Eagles on Saturday and would fit nicely as the Rams' nickel back. However, the paper cautions that the Rams' "interest in him isn't as high as some have portrayed." Hanson should draw interest from the corner-needy Panthers as well.

Eagles have released CB Joselio Hanson.

The Eagles couldn't find a taker for Hanson's salary at $7.6 million over the next three years, but he'll draw plenty of interest as a high-level nickel corner. The Rams and Panthers are two teams expected to be in pursuit. Philly will go forward with Nnamdi Asomugha, Asante Samuel, and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie as the top three corners.

101 ESPN St. Louis' Howard Balzer reports the Rams are one of the teams talking with the Eagles about acquiring CB Joselio Hanson.

With only Justin King and Al Harris to beat out, Hanson would have a pretty good chance at immediately stepping in as the Rams' nickel back. His salary (he's owed roughly $7.6 million over the next three seasons) could be a stumbling block to a trade, however.

The Eagles have reportedly received "multiple" trade offers for slot cornerback Joselio Hanson.

Hanson became the Eagles' No. 4 corner with the arrivals of Nnamdi Asomugha and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. He's owed $7.6 million in salary over the next three seasons. Ex-Eagles defensive coordinator Sean McDermott, now with the Panthers, would be wise to make a play here. Hanson won't cost much more than a late-round pick, and the Panthers could use nickel back help with Captain Munnerlyn entering the starting lineup.

Eagles CB Joselio Hanson has been demoted out of the team's nickel package.

Hanson has been the Birds' primary slot corner over the past several seasons, but he's now bumped down the depth chart with Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Nnamdi Asomugha in the fold. Eagles beat writers have speculated that Hanson will be released around final cuts, and SI's Peter King believes he may end up in Baltimore with old Philadelphia assistant John Harbaugh.

Joselio Hanson says the Eagles starting right corner job vacated by Sheldon Brown should be his to lose.

Hanson has been solid while playing exclusively in the nickel over the last few seasons. There's a chance Macho Harris could shift from safety into that role, leaving Hanson to compete with Ellis Hobbs for the RCB gig. Hobbs would enter camp as the favorite, but it could be a battle to watch.

Eagles activated CB Joselio Hanson from the reserve/suspended list.

Hanson, who's proven an effective nickel corner and special teamer over the last few seasons, was suspended four games in November for taking a banned diuretic. His return should upgrade the Birds' sub-package defense.

Eagles DB Joselio Hanson is eligible to return from his four-game suspension this week.

Hanson will likely step right back into his nickel back role with Ellis Hobbs sidelined. It's a boost to an Eagles secondary that dominated Chris Redman and the Falcons yesterday.
