Free agent Earnest Graham admitted that he's likely played his last NFL game.
Graham is 32 and coming off an Achilles' tendon tear. Although he says he's now healthy, he'll probably need a rash of injuries to strike the running back position during training camp before he gets a call. Fri, Jun 22, 2012 01:06:00 PM

Free agent Earnest Graham (Achilles surgery) would only consider returning for the 2012 season under "the right opportunity."

Graham estimates that he's 75-80 percent recovered after dealing with complications from surgery when he had a reaction to sutures and developed an infection. Graham isn't ready yet for football activities. At 32, there's a good chance he's played his last NFL game.

Earnest Graham (torn Achilles, injured reserve) believes he'll be "fully healed" by May.

That would be an extremely quick recovery after Graham tore his Achilles just six weeks ago, but he's already shed his crutches, and says he'll soon begin "aggressively rehabbing." A free agent to be, Graham will have to prove he's 100 percent healthy to draw any interest on the open market heading into his age-32 season.

Buccaneers placed RB Earnest Graham (torn Achilles') on injured reserve, ending his season.

Graham will require surgery to repair the Achilles, putting his career in jeopardy heading into his age-32 season. A free agent in 2012, Graham will draw little interest on the open market coming off a major injury. According to the Pewter Report, rookie Mossis Madu is expected to get the call over fellow practice squadder Chad Spann to replace Graham on the roster.

ProFootballTalk.com reports Bucs RB Earnest Graham has been diagnosed with a torn Achilles' tendon.

Graham was initially diagnosed with an ankle injury, but a torn Achilles would be consistent with the untouched manner in which he went down. It's a devastating injury for the 31-year-old passing down back, and one that could very possibly end his career. There will now be immense pressure on LeGarrette Blount to return after the Bucs' Week 8 bye, especially after Kregg Lumpkin showed nothing in Graham's absence. The Bucs will likely scour the open market for a veteran replacement. Graham should end up on injured reserve later this week.

Earnest Graham was forced from Sunday's game against the Bears with a right ankle injury, and will not return.

Graham crumpled to the ground untouched as he attempted to make a cut. His right leg buckled, and he could put no weight on it as he was helped to the locker room. Kregg Lumpkin is now the only healthy running back for a Bucs team already missing LeGarrette Blount.

Earnest Graham is expected to "provide the bulk of the rushing attempts" again this week versus the Bears in London.

LeGarrette Blount (knee) won't play after missing a second straight practice. NFL Films guru Greg Cosell points out that Graham's skill-set may actually be a better fit for the Bucs offense, and wouldn't be surprised to see more touches for the veteran even after Blount returns. Rotoworld ranks Graham as the No. 19 fantasy back for Week 7.

Earnest Graham rushed 17 times for 109 yards and caught two passes for 22 yards in the Bucs' Week 6 upset of New Orleans.

It was Graham's first 100-yard rushing game since Week 4 of 2008. Graham piled up yardage with tough running between the tackles, literally carrying Saints defenders on his back at times late in the game. LeGarrette Blount (knee) is expected to miss Week 7 against the Bears, and with this effort Graham earned an RB2 start in fantasy leagues. He's got the versatility part down pat, and still has some juice left in his 31 1/2-year-old legs.

Josh Freeman confirmed that Earnest Graham will handle the bulk of tailback duties with LeGarrette Blount (knee) not playing in Week 6.

"You guys know Earnest has done everything for us," Freeman said. "Whether it's playing fullback, being the third-down back, and now this week he's going to get the majority of the reps, the majority of the carries. I mean, he's done it before ... he's a guy we know can get it done." Graham is averaging 4.82 YPC over the past two seasons, but it's a very small sample size (38 carries). He'll be more attractive in PPR than standard leagues this week.

Coach Raheem Morris said that Earnest Graham will be his feature back if LeGarrette Blount (knee) misses Sunday's game against the Saints.

Kregg Lumpkin would serve as the third-down specialist and rookie Allen Bradford may get some change-of-pace looks. Graham figures to push for 15-18 touches as a power back that Josh Freeman feels comfortable checking down to. Graham is on the radar as a low-upside play in PPR formats this week.

Earnest Graham played against the Niners on Sunday, and finished with five carries for 30 yards but did not have a single reception.

It's usually the other way around for him, and one would think he'd have had some extra targets on the wrong end of a Bucs blowout loss. Should LeGarrette Blount's knee injury cause him to miss any time, then Graham will be worth a look as a low-upside PPR play. Kregg Lumpkin, who had just 11 total yards today, would be a candidate to share carries, as well.

Bucs RB Earnest Graham (hamstring, probable) returned to a full practice Friday.

Graham and Kregg Lumpkin figure to share third-down snaps against the 49ers in Week 5. Neither is remotely a viable option in fantasy football leagues.

Earnest Graham was limited in Buccaneers practice Thursday with a hamstring injury.

It's a new injury for Graham, who was not on the Bucs' Wednesday injury report. It may go a long way toward explaining the coaching staff's positive comments about Kregg Lumpkin this week. Neither backup is a fantasy flex option beyond deep PPR leagues.

Earnest Graham carried the ball twice for 24 yards and caught three passes for 27 yards in Week 4 on Monday.

More valuable as a receiver than as a runner, he has 143 receiving yards on 23 catches this season compared to just 54 rushing yards. In a PPR league he could be worth a look, but with little to no upside we think you can do better.
Tue, Oct 4, 2011 01:44:00 AM

Bucs FB/FB Earnest Graham rushed three times for 18 yards and caught five passes for 21 yards in the team's Week 2 win.

Graham's snaps were again more plentiful than they'll usually be with the Bucs playing from behind after a 17-0 first-half deficit. We suppose he's worth a look in deep PPR leagues, but Graham is a plodding runner and No. 2 on the depth chart behind LeGarrette Blount. He's far from a viable fantasy option.
