Bills waived T Cornell Green.
Green had been placed on injured reserve with a knee malady, but he's evidently reached a settlement with the team and is now a free agent. He's a backup-quality lineman, at best. Tue, Nov 23, 2010 11:25:00 AM

Bills placed RT Cornell Green (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Green was a head-scratching pickup in the offseason and performed poorly before getting hurt. Fill-in Cord Howard has been much worse, however. The Bills' line isn't going to get any better in the season's second half.

Bills RT Cornell Green is expected to miss "several games" with a knee injury.

Undrafted rookie Cord Howard will take over as the starting right tackle for the reeling and hopeless 0-5 Bills. "It's stuff he's been dealing with," coach Chan Gailey said of Green's injury. "It got a little worse, and we let it go. He probably pushed it too far last week and it's cost him a few games."

Cornell Green is penciled in as the Bills' starting right tackle.

Demetrius Bell, Jamon Meredith and Ed Wang are focusing on the left side. That leaves Green, a free agent pickup that figures to be a liability, with little competition on the right side. The Bills are setting themselves up for disaster.

Bills signed OT Cornell Green to a three-year, $9 million contract.

While Buffalo is undoubtedly desperate for tackle help, the signing is curious. Green received no known interest elsewhere, turns 34 before the season, and has played a full 16-game schedule just once in his 10-year career. The Raiders were also always trying to replace Green, which isn't a good sign.

Free agent OT Cornell Green visited the Bills on Monday.

Green will turn 34 before next season and is no longer a difference maker on the offensive line. Still, the Bills are absolutely desperate for tackle help after Brad Butler's retirement and Green would be a serviceable backup at worst.

Raiders RT Cornell Green left early in Thursday's game due to an undisclosed injury.

Green never returned after managing to make it through just three plays. Langston Walker played the rest of the way at right tackle.

Raiders RT Cornell Green (calf) and LG Robert Gallery (leg) are both expected to return to game action following the Week 9 bye.

Getting Samson Satele and Khalif Barnes out of the starting lineup will go a long way toward fixing the offense. JaMarcus Russell will continue to hold back the passing game, but Justin Fargas and Darren McFadden should find more room to run.

Raiders RT Cornell Green will miss at least the next two weeks with a calf injury.

Green isn't a high impact blocker, but the Raiders are now dealing with injury fallout at right tackle, center, and left guard. The lack of continuity on the line bodes very poorly for an already embarrassingly unproductive offense.

Raiders OT Cornell Green left Sunday's game with a calf injury.

Guard Erik Pears moved from guard to tackle, with Chris Morris switching to guard and Samson Satele entering at center. The Raiders offensive line was overwhelmed by a heretofore abysmal Texans defense.

Raiders OT Cornell Green was reportedly arrested Saturday and charged with Aggravated Battery/Domestic Violence.

Green allegedly destroyed property and physically assaulted the mother of his two children after a heated argument. The NFL is sure to look into the matter, but Green should be safe from suspension with no history of legal problems.

Raiders RT Cornell Green left Thursday's game with a knee injury and did not return.

He was replaced by Mario Henderson. The Raiders tackles are awful, so it's not going to matter who starts against the Patriots next week.

Raiders agreed to terms with OT Cornell Green on a two-year contract.

Green started Oakland's first 10 games in 2007 at right tackle before landing on I.R. with a foot injury. Paul McQuistan will likely move there this season.
