Jets GM John Idzik hasn't ruled out re-signing free agent Braylon Edwards.
"Guys like that will be under consideration as we go forward, for sure," Idzik said on a conference call with season-ticket holders. Edwards had reportedly been told in March that he wasn't a part of the Jets' plans, but perhaps that changed after Gang Green did nothing to address its slipshod receiver corps in the draft. The 30-year-old veteran hasn't made any visits in free agency. Apr 30 - 1:26 PM

The Jets have reportedly told free agent Braylon Edwards that they have interest in re-signing him.

The Jets need cheap talent, so Edwards is on their radar. But he's certainly not a priority signing after getting dumped by four different teams since 2009. Edwards' market won't develop until after the first couple waves of signings come and go.

The New York Post expects the Jets to re-sign free agent Braylon Edwards.

Edwards was signed prior to Week 15 last year after being released by the Seahawks, and he proved to be the team's best receiver. He offers a big target for scatter-shot Mark Sanchez, and Edwards should also come cheaply.
Mar 3 - 12:30 PM

Braylon Edwards caught four passes for 42 yards in the Jets' Week 17 loss to the Bills.

Edwards has bounced between three rosters (Seahawks, 49ers, Jets) over the past season and a half. He finished 2012 with 18 catches for 199 yards and one touchdown. Edwards, who turns 30 in February, is scheduled for unrestricted free agency in 2013. Re-upping cheaply with the Jets would be Edwards' best bet if he has designs on being a starting wide receiver next season.

Braylon Edwards (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Week 17.

Edwards seems likely to play against the Bills after missing Wednesday's practice and returning for Thursday and Friday's sessions. He'll reunite with Mark Sanchez as the Jets close out an incredibly disappointing 2012 season.

Braylon Edwards (hamstring, knee) returned to a limited practice on Thursday.

Edwards was held out on Wednesday, but it was likely just a maintenance day for the soon-to-be 30-year-old wideout. He'll be catching passes from Mark Sanchez once again this Sunday with Greg McElroy out with a concussion.

Braylon Edwards (hamstring, knee) did not participate in Wednesday's practice.

Edwards was limited in practice all last week before ultimately suiting up in Sunday's loss to the Chargers, but his missing practice does not bode well for his Week 17 status. Edwards has six catches for 83 yards in his two games with the Jets.

Braylon Edwards caught three passes for 36 yards in New York's Week 16 loss to the Chargers.

Edwards' six catches in two games as a Jet are just two fewer than he tallied in 10 games as a Seahawk. Perhaps the impending free agent has played his way into some guaranteed money, but he's still going to draw extremely minimal interest on the open market.

Braylon Edwards (hamstring) is questionable for Week 16 after getting in his third straight limited practice on Friday.

Although Edwards clearly isn't 100 percent, he should be fine for Sunday's game against the Chargers after operating as the Jets' de-facto No. 1 receiver in Monday night's loss. That speaks to the state of the Jets "offense." You're in a world of trouble if you're even considering Edwards as a Week 16 fantasy option.

Braylon Edwards (hamstring) was limited in practice on Wednesday.

Edwards got the start opposite Jeremy Kerley on Monday night and played 45 snaps after being a bit player in Seattle all season, so it's just an opportunity to give him some rest. Edwards' three-catch, 47-yard performance against the Titans led all Jets receivers. There's no fantasy value in the entire New York passing game.

Braylon Edwards played 31 more snaps than starter Chaz Schilens in Week 15 at Tennessee.

A week after landing with the Jets, Edwards displaced Schilens as the primary receiver opposite Jeremy Kerley. In fact, Mardy Gilyard (23) and Clyde Gates (16) also played more than Schilens' 10 snaps Monday night. There's no reliable fantasy value in the Jets passing game.

In his return to the Jets, Braylon Edwards caught three passes for 47 yards in Week 15 against the Titans.

After being claimed off waivers from the Seahawks last week, Edwards stepped immediately into the lineup as a starter and a team captain. He was the most-heavily targeted wideout by Mark Sanchez with his five targets. However, with the Jets quarterback mess, Edwards will hold zero fantasy value for Week 16 against the Chargers.

Braylon Edwards (hamstring) is active, but Dustin Keller (ankle) and Stephen Hill (knee) are inactive for Monday night's game against the Titans.

Edwards was listed as questionable on the injury report after being claimed off waivers from the Seahawks earlier in the week, but he was always expected to play. He likely won't be a big factor in the game, though. Keller will be replaced in the lineup by Jeff Cumberland again this week, while Hill is out with an LCL strain. Also inactive for the Jets are QB Greg McElroy, CB Aaron Berry, OLB Bryan Thomas, NT Damon Harrison, and C Caleb Schlauderaff.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on SportsCenter that Braylon Edwards may start Monday night's game against the Titans.

"Tells you a little bit about where this wide receiver corps is right now," Schefter added. Schefter did allow that Edwards would probably only start if the Jets open the game in a certain offensive package, suggesting he may not be a full-time player in his first game back with the team. Edwards was listed as questionable for the game with a hamstring injury.

Braylon Edwards (hamstring) was limited in practice on Saturday and is listed as questionable for Monday night versus the Titans.

Edwards was limited all week after being claimed off waivers by the Jets, but head coach Rex Ryan is optimistic that he'll suit up in Tennessee. Ryan just isn't sure how much Edwards will play. He's not a fantasy option.
