NFL suspended Bengals CB Adam Jones one game for violating the league's personal conduct policy.
Jones pleaded guilty to a second-degree misdemeanor in May stemming from an early January incident at Cincinnati hotel. With that settled, the soon-to-be 34-year-old will miss the season opener against the Ravens. Involved in plenty of off-field drama early in his career, Jones has settled down in his years with the Bengals and remains an above-average cover man, even at his advanced age. Jul 21 - 12:35 PM

Bengals CB Adam Jones pleaded guilty to a second-degree misdemeanor obstructing official business charge on Tuesday.

Jones was arrested in early January after an incident at a Cincinnati hotel. The judge dismissed misdemeanor assault and disorderly conduct charges as part of a plea agreement. Jones was sentenced to time served, which amounts to two days. Jones apologized and said he is "trying to get better every day." The plea ends his legal troubles, but he is likely facing league discipline.

Bengals owner Mike Brown said CB Adam Jones will remain with the team.

Jones is facing league disciple for his January arrest, but the Bengals have no plans to move on from him. "I’m going to give him a chance," said Brown. "I hope it comes out right for him, for his family and for us. I know there are critics. But that's a full answer. And that’s what I have to say about it." 34-year-old Jones is set to make $8.16 million this season. He's signed through 2018.

ESPN's Katherine Terrell believes the "most likely scenario" is RCB Adam Jones remains with the Bengals this season.

Jones had a felony charge against him dropped Wednesday, but he still faces three misdemeanors and likely discipline from the league. The fact the Bengals have stuck by Jones this long suggests they will keep him another year, but that could change if he is suspended or 2016 first-rounder William Jackson III earns a starting job in camp. Cincinnati would save over $6.8 million against the cap by releasing Jones, who has two years left on his deal.

Bengals RCB Adam Jones had felony charges of harassment with a bodily substance dropped on Wednesday.

Jones was arrested for spitting on a jailhouse nurse in January. He's not out of hot water yet, as Jones still faces misdemeanor charges of assault, disorderly conduct, and obstructing official business. Even entering his age-34 season, Jones remains an effective player.

Bengals CB Pacman Jones has been granted a continuance in his assault case to March 23.

That's two weeks after the start of free agency. Jones isn't headed to the open market, but it means the team will have to decide his Bengals future with incomplete information. Cutting Jones, who is going on 34, would clear up $6.8 million in cap space. Jones did remain reasonably effective in 2016.

The Bengals have not yet decided on the future of RCB Adam Jones, who was arrested on four charges in Cincinnati earlier this month.

Jones is facing a felony harassment charge with a bodily substance after allegedly spitting on a nurse, in addition to misdemeanor charges of assault, disorderly conduct, and obstructing police. Jones has a lengthy history of league-policy violations and could face NFL discipline. Cutting Jones before June 1 would save the Bengals $6.8 million against the salary cap.
Jan 26 - 10:25 PM

Bengals CB Adam Jones was arrested on four charges including assault early Tuesday morning in Cincinnati.

The offseason is officially here! Jones is charged with assault, disorderly conduct, obstructing official business, and harassment with a bodily substance after allegedly pushing a man and poking him in the eye before refusing to enter the police car, kicking and head-butting an officer, and spitting on the hand of a nurse while he was being booked. It is a disappointing development for Jones, who was suspended for all of 2007 for several off-field incidents but had been on the straight-and-narrow for several years. Jones remains an effective corner, but he will turn 34 early next season and is owed $6.8 million in salary and bonuses. It would not be a surprise if the Bengals decide to move on.

Jan 3 - 8:12 AM

Bengals re-signed CB Adam Jones to a three-year contract.

"Pacman" was one of the 3-4 best cornerbacks left on the market. Jones made it clear he was seeking top dollar, but he's getting it from the team that helped save his career. He drew heavy interest during the "legal tampering" period. Going on 33, Jones was one of the league's best corners last season, though his devastating penalty in the Wild Card round helped send the Bengals home early. Even as a tenured veteran, Jones remains a high-risk, high-reward player.

The Miami Herald's Armando Salguero reports free agent CB Adam Jones and Dolphins DC Vance Joseph "are tight."

Joseph joined the Dolphins this offseason after serving as the Bengals' DBs coach the last two years. Jones' market has been hot to this point, but his connection with Joseph could give Miami the upper hand. Jones has also been linked with the Vikings, Jets, Ravens and Browns.

ESPN's Ben Goessling reports the Vikings contacted free agent CB Adam Jones on Monday.

Jones' market has been hot, with the Vikings, Jets, Dolphins, Ravens, and Browns all linked since the tampering window opened. Jones played for Vikings coach Mike Zimmer in Cincinnati along with free agent safeties George Iloka and Reggie Nelson. Minnesota also reportedly contacted Iloka's and Nelson's representatives, but it is difficult to see the Vikings investing at the top of the safety market after giving starter money to Andrew Sendejo over the weekend.

A source told the Miami Herald the Dolphins "have a legitimate chance" to land free agent CB Adam Jones.

Jones is tight with new Dolphins DC Vance Joseph, who coached defensive backs in Cincinnati when Jones played there. Other reports have linked Jones to the Ravens and Browns. In Miami, Jones would take over as the Dolphins' starter opposite Byron Maxwell. Brent Grimes has been informed of his release.

Jones has also drawn interest from the Browns and Dolphins since the "legal tampering" period opened Monday afternoon. Jones is entering his age-33 season, but has enjoyed plenty of success the past couple years in Cincinnati. He's looking to cash in one more time. Baltimore is desperate for cornerback help after its secondary was picked apart much of last season.

The Browns have expressed interest in free agent CB Adam Jones.

"Pacman" knows new Cleveland coach Hue Jackson from the Bengals' coaching staff. Joe Haden had a concussion-ruined 2015, while RCB Tramon Williams is coming off a mostly-solid year. Jones was the Bengals' best cornerback in 2016, but he is going on age 33 and was involved in the club's playoff meltdown.
