Patriots re-signed DE/OLB Eric Moore.

One of the Patriots' final cuts, Moore has spent the year in the UFL. A former sixth-round pick, Moore has 45 tackles and four sacks over 33 career games with four different teams. Although he saw significant playing time for the Pats down the stretch in 2010, his snaps should mostly be limited to special teams.

It's at least a mild surprise. Plucked away from the UFL's Florida Tuskers last December, Moore played significant snaps down the stretch. He was projected to start before the Pats added Andre Carter.

Beat writer Mike Reiss expects Eric Moore to step into Tully Banta-Cain's (abdomen surgery) role.

Banta-Cain is expected to be sidelined about 4-5 weeks. The Patriots will likely add pass rushing talent in free agency, but for now Moore is penciled in as the rush end specialist. The career journeyman and ex-UFLer managed a career-high two sacks in four games with the Patriots last season.

The Boston Herald's Karen Guregian believes faith in DE Eric Moore may have been one of the reasons New England didn't take a pass rusher early in the draft.

The Patriots plucked Moore from the UFL's Florida Tuskers last December, and he responded by notching 14 tackles, two sacks and two forced fumbles in just four games. Moore was not productive during parts of four NFL seasons before ending up in the UFL, but will be an interesting story to follow in training camp this summer.

Moore has the ability to play defensive end and outside linebacker, though he's likely to be limited to special teams. He had been playing with the UFL's Florida Tuskers, so either he or the Pats paid the UFL's recently reduced transfer fee.

Giants rookie DE Eric Moore is out indefinitely with a sprained MCL.

He will miss at least two weeks, if not longer. The Giants are pretty well stocked at defensive end though.

The Browns are reportedly interested in Florida State DE/LB Eric Moore.

Moore will be a solid second or third round pick for a team like the Browns that hope to convert him to a 3-4 outside linebacker. Members of the Browns organization flew out to meet him at the Hula Bowl.
