Free agent S Antrel Rolle insists he's "waiting for the right situation."
Rolle says he's heard "from a few teams" since getting released by the Bears last month. He's reportedly a back-burner option for the Dolphins, but otherwise hasn't been publicly connected to any teams. Rolle was ineffective during an injury-marred 2015, but should still get a shot to crack someone's 53-man roster in camp. Jun 27 - 5:18 PM

Antrel Rolle and Louis Delmas are on "a list" of safeties the Dolphins will consider if Reshad Jones' holdout stretches into the regular season.

Jones skipped OTAs over a contract dispute but it's unlikely his holdout will last into the regular season. But if it does, Rolle and Delmas will be the first players Miami calls. Of course, that's assuming Rolle and Delmas will still be available at that point. Neither has sparked much interest on the free agent market but injuries could change that. Rolle was cut by the Bears last month while the Dolphins chose not to re-sign Delmas, who was sidelined by a torn ACL last season.

Free agent S Antrel Rolle said he wants to return to the Giants.

Released by the Bears Sunday, Rolle would like to return to the team he won a Super Bowl with in 2011. The Giants need safety help, but it is not clear how interested they would be in the 33-year-old. New York appears content to let the young group of Nat Berhe, Mykkele Thompson, Bennett Jackson, and third-rounder Darian Thompson compete for the starting job opposite Landon Collins. Despite playing just seven games last season because of an ankle injury and sprained MCL, Rolle should be able to find a new home before training camp.

Bears released S Antrel Rolle.

Rolle, 33, lasted one season in Chicago, but appeared in just seven games for the Bears due to an ankle injury and sprained MCL. He was merely average when on the field for DC Vic Fangio. The Bears will move forward with second-year FS Adrian Amos and either fourth-round rookie SS Deon Bush or free-agent signee Omar Bolden. Rolle's release saves the Bears $2.7 million in camp room.
May 1 - 4:43 PM

ESPN Bears reporter Jeff Dickerson believes SS Antrel Rolle is on the roster bubble.

Signed to a three-year, $11.25 million contract last offseason, Rolle played well when on the field in 2015. Unfortunately for Chicago, the 33-year-old managed seven appearances and ended the season on injured reserve with a sprained MCL. Rolle has been durable his entire career, but it is possible his body is starting to break down. Even so, not a single cent of Rolle's $2.4 million salary is guaranteed, so there is not much risk in seeing what he has left in the tank during training camp. Rolle should stick around at least through the offseason.

Bears placed SS Antrel Rolle on injured reserve with a sprained MCL, ending his season.

Rolle had been sidelined since Week 10. In the first season of a three-year, $11.25 million deal, Rolle was playing competently before going down. Due a reasonable $2.9 million between salary and bonuses in 2016, he should be back with the Bears for his age-33 campaign.

Bears SS Antrel Rolle (knee) will miss Week 12.

Chris Prosinski will start against the Packers. Rolle is week to week after injuring his knee in last Saturday's walk-through.

Bears SS Antrel Rolle suffered his knee injury in Saturday's practice.

Rolle proceeded to sit out Sunday's loss to the Broncos. Rolle is not looking good for Chicago's short-week matchup with the Packers. Harold Jones-Quartey is the next man up on the depth chart.
Mon, Nov 23, 2015 01:50:00 PM

Bears SS Antrel Rolle (ankle, knee) has been downgraded to questionable for Week 11 against the Broncos.

Rolle is dealing with a knee issue in addition to his ankle. Late-week downgrades are never good, but Rolle has a history of playing through injuries. Harold Jones-Quartey would start if Rolle is held out.

Bears SS Antrel Rolle (ankle) has resumed practicing.

The Bears missed Rolle in Weeks 5-6, when they permitted a combined 5:1 TD-to-INT ratio to Alex Smith and Matthew Stafford. Now healthy off Chicago's Week 7 bye, Rolle should resume his every-down role in Vic Fangio's defense.

Bears SS Antrel Rolle (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Week 6.

Facing the Lions on Sunday, Chicago will be without its top defensive back in Rolle, and one of its best run defenders in ILB Shea McClellin (knee).

Bears SS Antrel Rolle (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Week 5.

It's an upgrade to the matchup for all Chiefs skill position players. Rolle was off to a strong start this season, and is one of only a handful of truly impactful defenders on Chicago's roster.

Bears FS Antrel Rolle did not suffer a broken ankle Week 4 against the Raiders.

X-rays taken during the game came back negative, and Rolle returned to the sideline in a walking boot to watch the end of the game. Rolle said he did not know if he is dealing with a high-ankle sprain. No broken bones is great news for the Bears, but Rolle still could be looking a multiple-week injury.

Bears FS Antrel Rolle exited Week 4 against the Raiders with an ankle injury.

Rolle had his leg caught under a pile of tacklers early in the second half. He had to be helped off the field before being carted to the locker room. He was spotted on the sidelines wearing a walking boot on his right foot late in the game.
Sun, Oct 4, 2015 03:02:00 PM

Bears agreed to terms with FS Antrel Rolle on a three-year, $11.25 million contract, including $5 million guaranteed.

Rolle has a big name, but his play has slipped steadily in recent seasons. He had a miserable year in run defense in 2014 and was barely average in coverage. Rolle does bring leadership ability to a Chicago locker room that desperately needs it, and plays a needy position on the Bears, who still must find a bookend for Rolle at safety. Rolle also offers sporadic playmaking ability, having picked off nine passes, broken up 21, and forced two fumbles over the past two seasons.
