The Bucs are expected to retain LG Logan Mankins.
Mankins didn't rule out the possibility of retiring at season's end, but he has $7 million reasons to play out the final year of his contract. Turning 34 in March, Mankins remained one of the top interior offensive linemen in the league last season. Pro Football Focus graded Mankins 12th among 82 qualified guards in run blocking and 16th in pass protection with zero sacks allowed. Feb 12 - 9:34 AM

Bucs LG Logan Mankins has not decided if he will play in 2016.

"I’m trying to just take my time and make the right decision," Mankins said. "Things like that, usually, you don’t want to rush into." The eleven-year veteran and former All-Pro will turn 34 in March. He is owed $7 million in salary and bonuses.

Bucs declared LG Logan Mankins, TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins, C Evan Smith, QB Ryan Griffin, CB Johnthan Banks, TE Luke Stocker, and WR Russell Shepard inactive for Week 5 against the Jaguars.

Mankins didn't practice all week and could be looking at a multi-game absence. The Bucs' offensive line is dealing with multiple injuries. Kevin Pamphile will start at left guard, with Joe Hawley replacing Smith at center.

Bucs GM Jason Licht said LG Logan Mankins remains in the team's plans for 2015.

Mankins, 33 next month, was acquired from the Patriots last August and started all 16 games, grading out as Pro Football Focus' No. 9 left guard. His future was in question due to a $7 million cap charge that the Bucs can get out from under without a dead-money hit. Tampa Bay is in fine shape against the cap, however, and has much bigger issues to tackle than Mankins.

Bucs LG Logan Mankins (hyperextended knee) returned to practice on Thursday.

He should be ready to rock for Sunday's matchup with the Rams. It's excellent news for a run game that was one of Week 1's biggest disappointments.

Yahoo's Rand Getlin reports Bucs LG Logan Mankins suffered a hyperextended knee in Sunday's Week 1 loss to the Panthers.

Per Getlin, the team "doesn't think the injury is serious." Mankins' absence was felt in Sunday's loss, as Doug Martin managed nine yards on nine rushing attempts. It sounds like Mankins could rejoin the lineup in a week or two.

Bucs LG Logan Mankins left Sunday's Week 1 game with a knee injury and did not return.

The fact that Mankins didn't return can't bode well, but to this point there have been no reports on the extent of his injury. With Mankins on the shelf, the Buccaneers' run game has been wholly ineffective against the Panthers.

The Patriots asked Logan Mankins to take a pay cut before trading him to the Bucs.

Mankins was scheduled to make $6.25 million this season and $6.75 million in both 2015 and 2016. He wisely balked at a cut, knowing plenty of teams would be willing to pay for a borderline Hall of Fame guard that's been a top-10 run-blocker in PFF's grades for seven straight years.

Bucs acquired LG Logan Mankins from the Patriots in exchange for TE Tim Wright and a 2015 fourth-round pick.

That's certainly a way for the Bucs to improve their guard play. Mankins, 32, is a six-time Pro Bowl selection and former All-Pro at a position where players tend to age well. He was a top-18 guard at Pro Football Focus last season, grading out as a top-four run blocker. The move is good news for Doug Martin's fantasy stock. Mankins will slide in between LT Anthony Collins and C Evan Dietrich-Smith. Tampa Bay will patch something together at right guard next to RT Demar Dotson. Bucs GM Jason Licht was in New England when Mankins was drafted in 2005.

According to ESPN Boston, Patriots LG Logan Mankins (ankle, calf) is expected to be active for Monday night's game with the Texans.

Mankins practiced on a limited basis Saturday and is officially listed as questionable on the Patriots' injury report. He hasn't played since Week 10 against the Bills and has dealt with various injuries throughout the year. If active, Mankins will immediately regain his starting job from Donald Thomas. RG Dan Connolly (back) is also expected to play despite being listed as questionable.

Patriots LG Logan Mankins (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Week 11 versus Indianapolis.

Mankins did not practice at all after exiting last week's game against the Bills early in the third quarter. The All-Pro left guard has dealt with various injuries this season, from calf to hip to ankle issues. Donald Thomas will likely fill in on the left side.

Patriots LG Logan Mankins left Sunday's game against the Bills with an ankle injury.

Mankins was rolled up on twice on the opening drive of the third quarter. Nick McDonald replaced him at left guard on the next series. Mankins has been battling calf and hip issues this season as well.

Patriots LG Logan Mankins (hip) is out for Week 4 against the Bills.

Mankins didn't make the trip to Buffalo with his Patriot teammates. Donald Thomas will likely draw the start in his place. This explains why New England signed interior lineman Matt Tennant on Saturday. Tom Brady's offensive line has been a weak spot through the season's first three weeks.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Patriots LG Logan Mankins played the entire 2011 season with a torn ACL.

Schefter reports that Makins suffered the injury in the season opener last year against the Dolphins. Mankins underwent surgery after the Super Bowl to repair the knee, and if true it's an ultimate sign of toughness but may explain why he didn't play up to his Pro Bowl level. If Mankins can return to full health, it would be welcome news to a Patriots line that lost Matt Light and Brian Waters this offseason.

The Patriots have activated LG Logan Mankins (ACL surgery) from the camp/PUP list, and he will begin practicing.

It's great news for a New England offensive line that struggled in the preseason opener, but still projects as the one of the league's top units. Mankins is a perennial All Pro and the leader of the front five. Aside from a seven-game holdout in 2010, Mankins has started all but one game since entering the NFL as a first-round pick out of Fresno State eight years ago.
