According to ESPN Boston, Patriots LG Logan Mankins (ankle, calf) is expected to be active for Monday night's game with the Texans.
Mankins practiced on a limited basis Saturday and is officially listed as questionable on the Patriots' injury report. He hasn't played since Week 10 against the Bills and has dealt with various injuries throughout the year. If active, Mankins will immediately regain his starting job from Donald Thomas. Mankins did not practice at all after exiting last week's game against the Bills early in the third quarter. The All-Pro left guard has dealt with various injuries this season, from calf to hip to ankle issues. Donald Thomas will likely fill in on the left side.

Mankins was rolled up on twice on the opening drive of the third quarter. Nick McDonald replaced him at left guard on the next series. Mankins has been battling calf and hip issues this season as well.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Patriots LG Logan Mankins played the entire 2011 season with a torn ACL.

Schefter reports that Makins suffered the injury in the season opener last year against the Dolphins. Mankins underwent surgery after the Super Bowl to repair the knee, and if true it's an ultimate sign of toughness but may explain why he didn't play up to his Pro Bowl level. If Mankins can return to full health, it would be welcome news to a Patriots line that lost Matt Light and Brian Waters this offseason.

The Patriots have activated LG Logan Mankins (ACL surgery) from the camp/PUP list, and he will begin practicing.

It's great news for a New England offensive line that struggled in the preseason opener, but still projects as the one of the league's top units. Mankins is a perennial All Pro and the leader of the front five. Aside from a seven-game holdout in 2010, Mankins has started all but one game since entering the NFL as a first-round pick out of Fresno State eight years ago.

Mankins opened camp on active/PUP, as expected. The Pats tentatively expect him to be ready for Week 1, but they may work Dan Connolly at left guard as a precaution. In that scenario, veteran Dan Koppen would be the center.

Comcast SportsNet New England's Tom Curran is "told" that Patriots LG Logan Mankins (ACL surgery) should be ready for Week 1.

Some ESPN speculation suggested Mankins would head to PUP for the start of the season. Per Curran, Mankins is likely to open training camp on "active/PUP," but should be activated from the list ahead of the opener. Per Curran, Mankins' progress "was termed as 'awesome'." It's very good news for New England, obviously. Mankins has been to three straight Pro Bowls and was a 2010 All Pro.

ESPN's James Walker speculates Patriots LG Logan Mankins (ACL surgery) will begin the year on the PUP list.

Mankins didn't participate in the Patriots' offseason program after suffering what was supposedly "only" a partially torn ACL in the Super Bowl, but the consensus among the local media has been that he'll be ready for camp. Don't bank on any forthcoming updates from Patriots coach Bill Belichick.

Patriots LG Logan Mankins (ACL surgery) was spotted without a knee brace at LT Matt Light's retirement ceremony on Monday.

According to the Boston Globe's Greg A. Bedard, Mankins looked like "he could play tomorrow." This jibes with the Boston Herald's March report that Mankins' ACL was only "partially" torn, and that he is on track to be ready for training camp after injuring his knee in the Super Bowl. Mankins' status should be updated when the Patriots report for their mandatory June minicamp.

The Boston Herald has been assured that Patriots LG Logan Mankins (ACL surgery) will be ready for training camp.

It's believed that Mankins' ACL was only partially torn, which explains not only the optimistic timetable, but also why he was able to play through the injury for several games. Veteran Robert Gallery is now on board for insurance should Mankins suffer a setback.

ESPN Boston's Mike Reiss reports Patriots LG Logan Mankins underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL after the Super Bowl.

One source tells Reiss that Mankins played through the partial ACL tear, not realizing the extent of the injury. Already considered one of the toughest players in the game, Mankins was listed on the injury report with a "knee" going back to Week 16. Although the Pats are hoping for a training camp return, veteran Robert Gallery has been brought in for insurance. The good news is that the ligament may not have been 100 percent torn, and linemen often return at a faster rate than skill-position players.

Patriots LG Logan Mankins (MCL sprain) and RT Sebastian Vollmer (ankle) have resumed practicing.

Vollmer had been out since late November while Mankins went down in Week 16. Their return is welcome news for the ground attack, as Vollmer can push Nate Solder into the blocking tight end role.

Patriots LG Logan Mankins has been diagnosed with a sprained MCL and will not need surgery, according to the Boston Herald.

Mankins' timetable will depend on the grade of the sprain. If it's just a minor strain, he should be able to gut it out after the Patriots' first-round bye. As one of the NFL's top interior linemen, Mankins' availability is key to the Patriots' chances of a Super Bowl run.

Mankins had his left leg fallen on by Dolphins DE Jared Odrick in the first half. The three-time Pro Bowler did not return. The loss of Mankins would be a serious blow to the Patriots' Super Bowl hopes. He's among the premier interior linemen in football.
