Date:

Alvin Pearman will enter training camp third on the depth chart at tailback, ahead of undrafted rookies LeGarrette Blount and Stafon Johnson.

Pearman won't be needed on returns with Damian Williams emerging, so he's not guaranteed a roster spot. Expect either Blount or Johnson to pull ahead in August. Blount could give the offense a different look as a short-yardage battering ram.

Alvin Pearman is currently working as the Titans' No. 1 punt returner.

Pearman doubles as an end-of-the-line running back. The Titans would likely prefer third-round rookie Damian Williams to win the punt return job, as he was a dynamic college return ace and the team has more invested long term in him than Pearman. Pearman shouldn't be guaranteed a roster spot.

Titans signed RB Alvin Pearman, formerly of the Jaguars.

Pearman, 27, is a reliable return man, but won't be a big threat for home runs. He also won't help on offense behind Chris Johnson and LenDale White.

Jaguars re-signed RB Alvin Pearman, OL Charles Spencer, and TE Charles Davis to reserve/future contracts.

Signed off the street late, Pearman scored on his only touch of 2008, a 23-yard pass in Week 17. The Jags cutting Fred Taylor could give Pearman a realistic shot to make the 2009 roster. The other two here are projects.

Jaguars declared RB Alvin Pearman, LB Thomas Williams, OL Drew Miller, DE Mkristo Bruce, DT Attiyah Ellison, S Calvin Lowry, and G/C Cameron Stephenson inactive for Week 16 against the Colts.

Dennis Northcutt and Reggie Williams figure to start out wide with Mike Walker rotating in as the third receiver. Mike Peterson starts at middle linebacker because Daryl Smith (groin) is now on injured reserve.

Jagaurs signed RB Alvin Pearman.

Pearman, a third-down back who can return punts, tore his ACL in Week 4 with Seattle last year. He's little threat to Maurice Jones-Drew's workload.

The Giants have some interest in running bank/kick returner Alvin Pearman.

Pearman went down with a torn ACL in Week 4 of the 2007 season, but he's expected to be recovered in time for training camp. The Giants may also be interested in Maurice Hicks as a kick returner.

Alvin Pearman and LaBrandon Toefield are vying for the final spot at tailback on Jacksonville's roster.

Pearman is half the price and can return punts and kicks, though he lost the former job to Dennis Northcutt. Still, the guess here is that Pearman stays.

Alvin Pearman isn't expected to return punts for the Jaguars in 2007.

Dennis Northcutt will take over return duties. LaBrandon Toefield and Pearman will vie to be Jacksonville's third-string tailback, but with Greg Jones returning from a knee injury, one could be deemed expendable.
