Roydell Williams caught one pass for nine yards in the Redskins Week 10 loss to Philadelphia.

Williams was the team's third wideout for the entire second half, but should not be owned in fantasy leagues. He'll likely split snaps with Joey Galloway heading forward.

Redskins WR Roydell Williams has dropped to fourth string on the team's latest depth chart.

He had a 21-yard catch in the preseason opener, but presumably missed some assignments we weren't aware of. Williams was previously listed as a co-starter with Joey Galloway. Williams is in danger of not making the roster.

Redskins re-signed WR Roydell Williams.

Williams was waived/injured by Washington last August, and spent the year out of football while waiting for his numerous injuries to heal. Now 29, the Titans' onetime top receiver will have an uphill battle for a roster spot.

Redskins waived/injured WR Roydell Williams.

Williams recently underwent surgery to repair a broken left pinkie. The injury isn't a season-ender, so he could be released with an injury settlement.

Redskins receiver Roydell Williams is out indefinitely after undergoing surgery to correct a broken left pinkie.

Williams had a plate inserted into his hand, and coach Jim Zorn says it will be "weeks" before he'll practice again. We're betting he won't make the team.

Redskins signed WR Roydell Williams, formerly of the Titans.

Williams, 28, led Tennessee in receiving two years ago, but fell out of the league last season when he couldn't recover quickly from ankle surgery. The operation was extensive and it's unclear if it's affected Williams' already mediocre long speed. He's competing for a roster spot.

Free agent Roydell Williams is considering filing an injury grievance against the Titans because he feels he was still hurt when they cut him.

Williams' agent claims his client was rushed back from ankle surgery, which never gave him a fair shot. "Common sense shows you Roydell wasn’t 100%," the agent said. Williams could get back some salary if he won.

Titans waived WR Roydell Williams.

Williams may not be able to help anyone this year due to lasting ankle problems. He led the Titans with 55 receptions last season, so he could help a team if he gets healthy.

Titans WR Roydell Williams (ankle) made his preseason debut Friday night against the Falcons.

He was limited to just six plays in the first half and appeared to be slow getting out of his break on a pass that was nearly intercepted. Williams has a lot of catching up to do if he's going to work his way back into the mix at wide receiver.

Roydell Williams' surgically repaired ankle is still not 100 percent.

He recently had a setback and is no longer practicing. Williams had an extensive procedure done on the ankle this winter. He won't be available for the Titans' second preseason game and risks not making the club.

Titans activated WR Roydell Williams (ankle) from the camp/PUP list.

He's still not out of the woods, though, and is only taking part in individual drills. Williams led the Titans in receiving last year, but has fallen well behind in a new offense. His spot on the 53-man roster is not assured.

Roydell Williams (ankle) is still not ready to practice.

Williams appears to be headed for camp/PUP. He could possibly stay there into the season.

Roydell Williams (ankle) has not resumed practicing at Titans OTAs this week, as the team had previously hoped.

It's still early, but Williams has to be close to the bottom of a 9-man wide receiver chart that will be whittled down to 5-6. Biren Ealy, Justin McCareins, Justin Gage, and Lavelle Hawkins are four virtual locks ahead of him. If Williams is unable to practice by late July, he will likely go on camp/PUP.

Titans coach Jeff Fisher called Roydell Williams' slow recovery from a fractured ankle "frustrating." Williams' surgery required screws and plates, which won't be removed from his leg until 2009.

It's more frustrating for Williams, as he's in a contract year and has almost certainly lost his starting job to Justin McCareins. Williams hopes to be ready for camp, but doesn't anticipate being pain free all season. He won't be a fantasy asset in 2008. "I don't know anything about him," new coordinator Mike Heimerdinger acknowledged.
