Jets released OT Ray Willis and waived QB G.J. Kinne.

Willis was just signed a month ago along with OT Stephon Heyer. A 26-game starter with Seattle from 2008-09, Willis hasn't played a snap in two years. Undrafted out of Tulsa, Kinne has an incredible backstory. As a high schooler, Kinne's father -- also the head coach -- survived a shooting by a deranged parent despite being given just a 10 percent chance to live.

The Steelers are working out free agent tackles Ray Willis and Jamon Meredith Tuesday.

Coach Mike Tomlin indicated Tuesday that second-round rookie Marcus Gilbert will replace Willie Colon at right tackle, but the team still needs veteran depth. Willis didn't play a down last season after starting 16 games for Seattle in 2009.

Dolphins signed OT Ray Willis, formerly of the Seahawks.

Willis didn't play a down last season thanks a knee injury, but started all 16 games for the Seahawks in 2009. However, he was slated for a backup role before getting hurt last summer, and won't draw any starts this season unless injury ravages Miami's offensive line.

Free agent OT Ray Willis worked out for the Dolphins Sunday.

Willis wants to play closer to his Florida home, so the Dolphins would be a nice fit. The Fins are said to be seeking veteran guards because they're not thrilled with 2010 third-rounder John Jerry.

Free agent OT Ray Willis has visited with the Giants.

Willis missed all of 2010 with a knee injury after starting all 16 games at right tackle for the Seahawks in 2009. Entering his age-29 season, he'll be a depth signing wherever he ends up.

Free agent OT Ray Willis is expected to sign with a team closer to his home in Florida.

A 20-game starter over six years, Willis missed all of last season with a knee injury and isn't considered a good fit for O-Line coach Tom Cable's zone-blocking scheme. He could land a backup job with the Bucs, Dolphins, or Jaguars.

Seahawks placed OT Ray Willis (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Seattle never released the particulars on Willis' surgery, but he wasn't expected back any time soon. Stacy Andrews, acquired from the Eagles, will take his spot on the offensive line.

Seahawks OT Ray Willis is out indefinitely after undergoing knee surgery.

Danny O'Neil of the Seattle Times' report says Willis is out "for the start of the Seahawks' regular season," which makes us wonder if the procedure was worse than a routine scope. Willis is slated to be a backup this year.

Ray Willis' long-term role with the Seahawks is in doubt.

Willis' contract is up after this season and he's not athletic enough for the zone blocking scheme. For now, he's the behind right tackle Sean Locklear with rookie Russell Okung the starter at left tackle. Willis is probably available for a future seventh-round pick, if not a bag of footballs.

Ray Willis was the Seahawks' first-team left tackle as the team opened its first voluntary minicamp on Tuesday.

Reemphasizing the team's glaring need. Sean Locklear book ended Willis at right tackle, while the interior line consisted of LG Mike Gibson, RG Max Unger, and C Chris Spencer. Expect plenty of change here before Week 1.

According to ESPN's Mike Sando, Seahawks OT Ray Willis is battling a knee issue.

Sando notes that Willis has been limping on the practice field and didn't play Saturday night. This is yet another big concern for the reeling Seahawks. With Walter Jones out indefinitely, Willis is being counted on to start the season at right tackle with Sean Locklear on Matt Hasselbeck's blind side.
