Panthers agreed to terms with DT Ronald Fields.

According to beat writer Darin Gantt, the Panthers ignored more experienced options because they wanted a player who could practice every day. A rotational lineman for the Broncos last season, Fields was a final cut with the Dolphins this summer.

Dolphins signed DT Ronald Fields.

A rotational lineman for the Broncos last season, Fields notched just 22 tackles in 16 games. He did start all 16 games in 2009, however, and could prove to be a valuable depth signing for a Dolphins' defensive line that will be anchored by NT Paul Soliai.

The Broncos are not expected to bring back free agent DT Ronald Fields.

Fields, 29, didn't help himself by getting arrested last May for "waving a gun at a nightclub," and went on to struggle in a rotational role during the season. The Denver Post speculates that all of the team's defensive tackle losses might mean Alabama's Marcell Dareus and Auburn's Nick Fairley are "under heavy consideration" for the No. 2 pick in the draft.

Broncos DL Ronald Fields will be back in court on June 16 for a hearing on his misdemeanor charge of carrying a weapon unlawfully.

Fields is accused of "waving a gun at a nightclub" last weekend in Houston. After a search, police found a pistol on the floor of Fields' car in front of the driver's seat. This is Fields' first off-field problem as a pro.

Broncos DT Ronald Fields was reportedly arrested Friday night in Houston on a misdemeanor charge of unlawful carrying of a weapon.

Fields was booked and posted $1,000 bond, and he's scheduled to appear in court on May 14. A 16-game starter last year, Fields is expected to be used in a rotational role this year after the Broncos signed the veteran trio of Jamal Williams, Jarvis Green, and Justin Bannan.

Ronald Fields confirmed that he is penciled in as the Broncos' starting nose tackle.

Fields played under new defensive Mike Nolan in San Francisco, so he's familiar with the 3-4 scheme. An under-the-radar signing for the Broncos in March, Fields has the size and ability to succeed in the middle.

Broncos agreed to terms with DT Ronald Fields on a two-year, $5 million contract.

The rest of the league missed the boat on Fields, who is 27, 6'2/321, and can play tackle and end. He gives new DC Mike Nolan a credible option at nose tackle in 3-4 looks. Fields started under Nolan with the Niners in 2007.

The Broncos will host DL Ronald Fields for a free agent visit this weekend.

Fields, 27, played under defensive coordinator Mike Nolan with the 49ers and can play both nose and end in the 3-4. The Rams have also expressed interest in arranging a visit with Fields. He'll be a good value pickup.

The 49ers have moved Ronald Fields back to nose tackle.

The team likes Fields' quick hands and size (6'2/321) at that spot. He'll back up and rotate with Aubrayo Franklin. Isaac Sopoaga will start at left defensive end, where his 330 pounds should make him a menace against the run.

49ers GM Scott McLoughan believes Ronald Fields would be an ideal fit at right defensive end if Bryant Young retires or leaves in free agency.

The 6-2/323-pound Fields would be a load coming off the right end. He played tackle last season before breaking his arm in a freak in-practice accident. The Niners will upgrade across the line this offseason.

49ers placed DT Ronnie Fields on injured reserve, ending his season.

It was recently discovered that Fields broke his arm during practice, although he was not aware of it when it occurred. Fields had worked his way into the starting lineup before the injury and been stout against the run, but San Francisco will undoubtedly bring in competition next season.

49ers coach Mike Nolan says defensive tackle Ronald Fields and strong safety Mark Roman will remain in the starting lineup going forward.

The players they replaced, Anthony Adams and Tony Parrish, are both in contract years. Keith Lewis is now pushing Mike Adams at free safety.

49ers DT Ronald Fields started in place of Anthony Adams in Week 6.

Fields came up with five tackles and was in on a Philip Rivers safety. The Niners are tweaking the lineup on defense and will likely to continue to address the situation during their upcoming bye week.
