Bucs signed DT Jovan Haye.
Haye recorded two tackles in seven snaps with the Lions in Week 14. He'll add rotational depth up front for the Bucs, but this will remain an extreme matchup advantage for opposing running backs. Mon, Dec 19, 2011 05:20:00 PM

Haye recorded two tackles in seven snaps against the Vikings in Week 14. He was no longer needed with Ndamukong Suh coming off suspension and Nick Fairley (foot) closer to a return.

Lions signed DT Jovan Haye, formerly of the Titans.

The Lions need depth inside with Ndamukong Suh suspended and Nick Fairley expected to miss Sunday's game after aggravating his foot injury. Haye has been out of the league since the Titans released him after training camp. Adrian Peterson's matchup is looking up, provided he has no setbacks this morning.

Titans released DT Jovan Haye.

The new regime never gave Haye much of a chance as they try to bulk up their interior. The Titans drafted three defensive linemen and Haye was set to make $6.7 million over the next two years. He'll get another shot as a veteran that can rush the passer.

Titans DT Jovan Haye is adding weight in an effort to fit new defensive line coach Tracy Rocker's scheme.

Haye slimmed down to the 270s last season to fit Jim Washburn's system. Now, he's bulking back up as Rocker emphasizes size along the front four. The Titans drafted three more defensive linemen in April, so Haye is still facing a battle to make the roster. He's due a $3 million base salary in 2011.

Titans DT Jovan Haye is no lock to make the 2011 roster, according to The Tennessean.

The Titans used three draft picks on run-stuffing interior linemen. New coach Mike Munchak said he wants to move away from using pass-rushers on the inside and instead plug some bigger guys in there. Due $6.7 million over the next two years, Haye is on the bubble.

Titans DT Jovan Haye was a healthy scratch in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs.

Haye had played in the previous 14 games, compiling 31 tackles. Coach Jeff Fisher said he wanted to get a long look at SenDerrick Marks, who ended up with two tackles in the game.

Titans DT Jovan Haye left Thursday night's game in the second quarter with a "stinger."

The rotational defensive lineman is considered questionable to return.

Titans DT Jovan Haye has lost a whopping 25 pounds since last season and is down to 275.

The idea is to improve his quickness. Haye was a huge free agent flop playing in the 300-pound range last season, getting washed out against the run and recording just one sack all year. His grip on a starting job is tenuous.

Titans agreed to terms with DT Jovan Haye on a four-year, $16 million contract.

Haye's production fell off drastically in 2008 (he had 68 tackles and six sacks in '07 to 33 stops and zero sacks last year), but Titans DL Jim Washburn is the best in the business and should get more out of him. The 285-pound one-gapper is only turning 27. He'll rotate with Jason Jones and Tony Brown.

The Titans are expected to host free agent DT Jovan Haye this week.

Haye, a pure gap shooting tackle, should come cheaper than Colin Cole (five years, $21 million). The 27-year-old recorded zero sacks last season.

The Titans are expected to pursue free agent DT Jovan Haye.

At 6'2/285, Haye wouldn't come close to filling Albert Haynesworth's sizable shoes. He does have local ties as a Vanderbilt product, so the Titans could bring him in and let him battle last year's second-rounder Jason Jones for a starting job.

New Bucs defensive coordinator Jim Bates says his linemen will use more "head up" techniques against offensive blockers.

Bates will also stress size, which significantly decreases the chances of gap shooting free agent Jovan Haye (6'2/285) returning. The new scheme will stress containment with a focus on linebackers being more disruptive.

Bucs DT Jovan Haye (knee) didn't make the team flight to Carolina for Monday night's game.

Ryan Sims, who offers quite a bit more size at 6'4/315 to Haye's 6'2/285, could actually be an upgrade against DeAngelo Williams and the Panthers' high octane run game. Sims won't be a big threat to collapse the pocket.

Bucs DT Jovan Haye is doubtful for Monday's game with an injured knee.

With defensive ends Gaines Adams (hip pointer) and Kevin Carter (illness) listed as questionable, Chris Hovan is the only healthy starter on the line. Ryan Sims is slated to start for Haye, which is good news for DeAngelo Williams.
