Joel Dreessen caught six passes for 48 yards in Denver's Divisional Round loss.
With Peyton Manning having trouble driving the ball downfield, Dreessen ended up drawing eight targets after never garnering more than seven during the regular season. Today was just the third time in 2012-13 Dreessen posted more than four catches. Six months shy of his 31st birthday, Dreessen won't enter 2013 on the redraft radar. Jan 12 - 9:57 PM

Joel Dreessen caught two passes for 15 yards in Denver's Week 17 win over the Chiefs.

A typical day at the office for Dreessen, who ends the regular season with just 41 catches for 356 yards. Signed through 2014, Dreessen won't be more than the No. 5 option in the passing game during the Broncos' run at the Super Bowl.

Joel Dreessen caught five passes for 30 yards and a touchdown versus the Raiders in Week 14.

Dreessen swipes a score from teammate Jacob Tamme once again. Dreessen saw five targets compared to four for Tamme, who lost most of his appeal after it was announced that Brandon Stokley was active for the game. Dreessen isn't a fantasy option outside of extremely deep leagues.

Joel Dreessen caught two passes for three yards in Denver's Week 12 win over the Chiefs.

That's hard to do. Dreessen was targeted only three times, giving him just 18 looks since the Broncos' Week 7 bye. He's off the radar in all formats of fantasy.

Joel Dreessen caught four passes for 28 yards in the Broncos' Week 11 win over the Chargers.

Dreessen's play of the game came on an 11-yard gain down the right sideline where he broke a couple of tackles and gave the Joe Montana two-armed celebration signal afterwards. Dreessen was targeted six times in the game, one more than Jacob Tamme. From a fantasy perspective, Dreessen and Tamme have essentially canceled each other out this season. They're both low-end TE2s.

Broncos TE Joel Dreessen caught four passes for 38 yards and a touchdown in Denver's Week 9 win over Cincinnati.

Dreessen plays a bigger red-zone role than Jacob Tamme, and therefore is a better weekly bet to score cheap touchdowns. Dreessen just doesn't do much between the 20s in the passing game; he's Denver's primary blocking tight end. On pace for only 42 catches and 382 receiving yards, leave Dreessen on the waiver wire heading into a Week 10 matchup with the Panthers.

Joel Dreessen was held without a catch in Denver's Week 8 rout of the Saints.

Dreessen was targeted only two times. Although Dreessen totaled 10 catches in Weeks 5 and 6, he's still at just 153 yards receiving on the season. He's not a viable TE2.

Joel Dreessen caught six passes for 57 yards in Denver's Week 6 victory.

Dreessen was second on the team with seven targets, but most of his damage was done in the first half while Peyton Manning was adjusting to the San Diego defense. The catch and yards numbers were season-highs. Dreessen's not a fantasy option.

Joel Dreessen caught four passes for 21 yards and a touchdown in Denver's Week 5 loss in New England.

Dreessen has now found the end zone in three consecutive games, but is averaging just 2.2 catches for 19.2 yards. He's not a viable bye week fill-in.

Joel Dreessen caught two passes for 36 yards and a touchdown in Denver's Week 3 loss to the Texans.

Dreessen's score was of the "fluke" variety, as he made a six-yard grab on a ball that ricocheted off Eric Decker's hands. Dreessen entered Week 3 with just three catches for 22 yards. He was out-targeted 10-5 by Jacob Tamme this afternoon, but could be a much bigger factor in the Week 4 game-plan after Tamme departed late with a lower-body injury. He'd still be little more than a desperation TE2 for fantasy purposes, however.

Joel Dreessen caught two passes for 16 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's preseason game against the 49ers.

Dreessen ran as the in-line tight end while Jacob Tamme was the move tight end. He was also used in the red zone, catching a simple out from Caleb Hanie for a 5-yard score late in the second quarter. Through three preseason games, Dreessen has four catches for 43 yards with one score. He and Tamme project to cap each other's upside.

The Broncos are reportedly hoping to mimic the Patriots' tight end due of Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez with Joel Dreessen and Jacob Tamme.

It's obviously a pipe dream, as Dreessen couldn't hold Gronk's jock and Tamme isn't nearly as dangerous a receiving weapon as Hernandez. The Denver Post does anticipate heavy usage of two-tight end sets, with Dreessen as the in-line tight end and Tamme on the move. Tamme is a better target in fantasy leagues.

Broncos agreed to terms with TE Joel Dreessen, formerly of the Texans.

Houston's free-agent exodus continues unabated. A fine all-around tight end, Dreessen has received high marks from Pro Football Focus for receiving and blocking the past couple of years. He's also proven capable of high-end TE2 fantasy numbers while filling in for Owen Daniels. His 2012 value depends on whether the Broncos add Dallas Clark or Jacob Tamme to the mix. Garrett Graham ascends to the No. 2 role in Houston unless a fullback is signed to free up James Casey. Second-year TE Julius Thomas may need to stay in the incubator for another year in Denver.

Free agent Joel Dreessen will decide between the Texans and Broncos by Friday morning.

The Saints, Bengals, and Titans have been eliminated. Dreessen will choose between his home state and the team he's played for over the past half-decade. His opportunity would be better in Denver.

Free agent TE Joel Dreessen is visiting the Broncos on Thursday.

Owen Daniels' backup the past five years, Dreessen has already visited the Saints, Bengals, and Titans. The Broncos may have an advantage, as Dreessen is a native of Fort Morgan, Colorado. Denver is also interested in Jacob Tamme.
