Giants signed C Chris White, formerly of the Seahawks.
He's likely just a camp body in New York. White, 28, has started only eight games since entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2005. He's a practice body until newly signed starter David Baas becomes eligible on August 4. Sat, Jul 30, 2011 10:46:00 PM

Seahawks released G/C Chris White, DL Barrett Moen, S James Brindley, and LB Joe Pawalek.

They were camp body types. White had the most experience of the group and was once considered a solid zone-blocking prospect. It's a bad sign for his career that the Seahawks cut him after hiring zone-blocking guru OL coach Tom Cable.

Seahawks re-signed G/C Chris White.

Seattle chose White's G/C versatility over T Breno Giacomini, who was waived Tuesday. White was just signed by the Seahawks a week ago but cut shortly after. He'll provide depth on a banged-up offensive line.

Seahawks signed G/C Chris White, formerly of the Texans.

White made eight starts at guard in Houston last year. He knows Seattle's scheme, but will be asked to provide depth rather than play a major role.

Texans re-signed restricted free agent G/C Chris White to a one-year, $1.226 million contract.

White was pressed into starting action for the first time in his career last year, appearing in eight games as a first-team guard. Though undersized (6'2/290), he is athletic enough to zone block and will return as a backup.

The Texans have extended an original pick tender to restricted free agent G/C Chris White.

White started eight games last season, but the low tender indicates that the team wasn't overly impressed with his play. He was originally undrafted.

Chris White will be the Texans' starting right guard in Week 6.

Rookie Antoine Caldwell, a third-round pick in April, is a better talent than White and will rotate in. Houston's loss of both starting guards is a concern for the running game, but it isn't like Steve Slaton could do much worse.

Texans re-signed C Chris White to an undisclosed contract.

White has been in the league for four seasons and never made a start. The 26-year-old will back up entrenched starter Chris Myers next season.

Texans coach Gary Kubiak confirmed after Sunday's game that Gs Chris White and Fred Weary will miss the remainder of the season with knee and leg injuries, respectively.

Weary broke his leg, while White torn his medial collateral ligament. The Texans will likely turn to rookie Kasey Studdard at right guard for now.

White was replacing Fred Weary, who also injured his leg or knee. Kasey Studdard, a rookie from Texas, came in to substitute for White.
