Bears signed K Robbie Gould to a four-year, $15 million extension through 2017, including $9 million guaranteed.
32-year-old Gould drilled 26-of-29 field goals in 2013, and has converted at least 83 percent of his field goal attempts in every year since his rookie campaign of 2005. He is currently regarded as the second most accurate placekicker in league history, leapfrogging Nate Kaeding in November. Per GM Phil Emery's stats, Gould has made 90 percent of his field goals that have occurred with the Bears trailing on the scoreboard. Gould's long-range fantasy value is also looking up with Marc Trestman in Chicago. Fri, Dec 27, 2013 02:19:00 PM

Bears K Robbie Gould (calf) is "on track" to be medically cleared Thursday.

Gould injured his calf in Week 14, then had surgery to repair a ruptured semitendinosus tendon shortly after. He'll "compete" with Austin Signor for the Bears' kicking job. Gould was a top-ten fantasy kicker as recently as 2011.

Bears K Robbie Gould is 13 weeks removed from surgery to repair a ruptured semitendinosus tendon in his left leg.

He says he's healthy now. Gould, unluckily, suffered the calf-area injury in warmups before Chicago's Week 14 game. He wound up 21-of-25 on field goals and 2-of-2 from 50 yards out. The Bears signed Austin Signor to compete with Gould in camp, but the undrafted rookie is unlikely to pose a serious threat.

Bears placed K Robbie Gould (calf) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Gould pulled his calf during warmups for Week 14. His eighth NFL campaign ends with a 21-of-25 mark on field goals, including 2-of-2 from 50-plus yards out. Gould will enter the final year of his contract in 2013 set to earn $2.325 million. The Bears have chosen to now roll with veteran Olindo Mare, who beat out Neil Rackers and Billy Cundiff at a Tuesday workout.

Following Sunday's loss to the Vikings, Bears K Robbie Gould (calf) said he'll be "fine" for next week.

Gould strained the calf on his plant leg during warmups. He was available to kick mid-range field goals without trouble, but his ability to take long kicks was limited. Even if Gould does end up active for Week 15 as promised, fantasy owners should move on to a kicker that's 100 percent.

Bears K Robbie Gould suffered a calf strain in pregame warmups.

News didn't surface until game time. The Bears eschewed a 53-yard field goal attempt that they would have otherwise tried in the first quarter. Outside of that opportunity, the injury didn't play much of a role in the game. Gould converted both extra points and handled a late-game onsides kick.

Bears K Robbie Gould said the field conditions at Soldier Field could be a factor in if he re-signs.

Gould's contract is up after next season. He 10-of-13 at Soldier Field this season and appeared especially upset with the ragged, wet field in last Sunday night's loss to the Texans. "Those will be situations that I'm going to take into [consideration]," Gould said. "I don’t know if I want to deal with that as I get older as a kicker."

Robbie Gould's contract is actually for six years and $15.5 million. Rams K Josh Brown remains the league's highest paid kicker by a hair.

Brown's annual average is $2.84 million; Gould's is $2.58 million. Brown got $4 million to sign, whereas Gould gets $4.15 million in '08 and '09 roster bonuses. By triggering $2 million worth of escalators, Gould's yearly average can pass Brown's. But those aren't attainable until 2012 and 2013.

Bears signed K Robbie Gould to a five-year, $15.5 million extension through 2013. The deal includes a $4.25 million signing bonus.

A good way to get Cedric Benson's issues out of the forefront. Gould looked shaky as a rookie in 2005, but has since canned 24 of his 30 tries from 40+ and missed only three kicks total inside that range. While the conditions at Soldier Field and an awful-looking passing game curtail his fantasy upside for this season, Gould is legitimately among the five best kickers in the NFL.

Robbie Gould has reported to the Bears' offseason program.

Gould, who's entering the final year of his rookie contract, had skipped early voluntary work. The Bears are interested in signing him up long term.

Robbie Gould has been staying away from the Bears' offseason program.

Gould is in the last year of his rookie contract. The Bears are interested in signing him long term, but Tommie Harris and Devin Hester may come first.

After re-signing Lance Briggs over the weekend, the Bears are expected to turn their attention to extending K Robbie Gould.

Gould will certainly want a deal equaling or besting the $14.2 million pact Josh Brown got from the Rams. Brown is currently the NFL's top paid kicker.

The Bears have been in talks about a long-term extension with K Robbie Gould.

He should command significantly more than Lawrence Tynes, who recently got a five-year, $7 million deal. Gould is signed only through the '08 season.

Having made all 13 of his field goal attempts, Bears kicker Robbie Gould has helped the Bears become the top-ranked special teams unit in the league according to Dallas Morning News writer Rick Gosselin.

Punter Brad Maynard, KR Devin Hester, gunner Leon Joe and all-around ace Brendon Ayanbadejo have all contributed to Chicago's No.1 ranking. Gould has been a top-three fantasy kicker in many leagues so far.

Bears kicker Robbie Gould continued his perfect form Sunday night, hitting all three of his field goal attempts against the Seahawks.

Gould is 13-13 on the season, and given the improvement to Chicago's offense, has become one of the early season's top fantasy kickers.
