Steelers agreed to terms with K Shaun Suisham.

Suisham did stabilize Pittsburgh's kicking game following the release of Jeff Reed, but he's never been reliable in several stops with the Cowboys and Redskins. We'd steer clear of Suisham in fantasy drafts even if the Steelers boast an above-average offense.

The Steelers reportedly hope to re-sign free agent K Shaun Suisham.

A contending team should be aiming higher, but the Steelers are apparently high on Suisham after he connected on 14-of-15 field goals in seven games last season. The Post-Gazette shoots down the notion that David Akers would be an option.

Coach Mike Tomlin admitted that attempting a 52-yard field goal with Shaun Suisham in the third quarter of Super Bowl XLV was a mistake.

Suisham is now just 6-for-11 in his career in the playoffs, but Tomlin put his shaky kicker in a terrible spot with the long attempt. "That was a terrible decision by me in hindsight," Tomlin said. "That wasn't even close." Suisham, who made 14-of-15 field goals during the regular season after taking over for Jeff Reed, is an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

The success rate for field-goal attempts at Pittsburgh's Heinz Field this season was just 71.8 percent.

That is substantially lower than the league-wide average of 79.7 percent, and a concern heading into an AFC Championship game that very well may be decided by a kick. Steelers kicker Shaun Suisham is 7-of-9 on field-goal attempts at home this season, but just 2-of-4 from 40 yards or longer. Surprisingly, Jets kicker Nick Folk is 4-of-4 for his career at Heinz Field.

Steelers signed K Shaun Suisham.

Suisham has been in a couple of the Steelers' training camps before, and they evidently liked what they saw from him in Tuesday's workout enough to cut Jeff Reed loose. He kicked fairly well for Dallas last season, making 20-of-24 field goal tries, though he has a history of unreliability.

We know that Dave Rayner tried out Monday, but it's not clear who else is being worked out. Jason Hanson has an MCL injury and is expected to miss multiple weeks, though there's been no word yet of him possibly being placed on injured reserve.

Brown, originally waived by the team in May, will stand in as a camp body for the time being. Suisham goes now that starting K Josh Brown is healthy.

Josh Brown will sit out Saturday's exhibition game with a tweaked hip, so Suisham will fill in for a week. Brown should be just fine by the season opener.

The Browns are apparently satisfied that disgruntled kicker Phil Dawson will arrive on time for training camp. The team recently offered the reliable veteran a "modest raise," which didn't go over too well in Dawson's camp.

Suisham wasn't expected back after his unimpressive performance taking over for Nick Folk. The Cowboys are going with David Buehler and Conner Hughes for now, though veteran Matt Stover could be a fallback plan.

Cowboys agreed to terms with PK Shaun Suisham, formerly of the Redskins.

The team's next transaction will probably be to place Nick Folk on injured reserve, even though he doesn't have a significant injury. Folk did have offseason hip surgery, which may allow Dallas to justify it. Suisham got the raw end of a deal in Washington, being cut early this month despite making 18-of-21 field goals. All three of his misses, however, led to losses.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Cowboys will sign free agent K Shaun Suisham this week.

Suisham will kick in Week 16 against the Redskins, and likely continue to start as long as Dallas last in the playoffs. He will be replacing Nick Folk.
