Browns signed WR Demetrius Williams.

Williams worked out for the Browns last week, but they elected to sign Yamon Figurs instead. Figurs has now been cut in favor of Williams. The former Ravens is physically gifted but has a long injury history.

Browns worked out free agent WR Demetrius Williams earlier in the week.

With Joshua Cribbs' (concussion) status in doubt, the team opted to go with return candidate Yamon Figurs instead.

The Texans worked out free agent WRs Demetrius Williams, Reggie Brown, and Dexter Jackson on Tuesday.

We wouldn't necessarily correlate the workouts with Jacoby Jones' calf injury. Teams often bring in free agents on Tuesdays to update their emergency lists.

The Vikings will work out free agent WRs Demetrius Williams, Reggie Brown, Sam Aiken and Ruvell Martin, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

Williams would fill a major need for the Vikings as a deep threat, but he disappointed in Baltimore over and over again. He'd be a long shot for any value in Minnesota. Martin is not an asset in any form as a wideout. Aiken is a special teams ace and Brown hasn't had a real impact in the league since 2007 with the Eagles.

Former Ravens WR Demetrius Williams will reportedly have a tryout with the Rams.

St. Louis signed Williams' former Raven teammate Mark Clayton Monday. The Rams clearly aren't set on their current wide receivers, though Williams' lack of special teams ability might prevent him from getting signed.

Ravens released WR Demetrius Williams.

The athletic deep threat has been plagued by injuries since entering the league as a fourth-round pick in 2006. The current coaching staff also questioned his commitment level. The Ravens will go with Mark Clayton, Donte' Stallworth (fractured foot), and rookie David Reed as the reserve receivers.

Demetrius Williams is back in the mix for a roster spot now that Donte' Stallworth is expected to miss the first two months of the season.

Williams will compete with Marcus Smith and David Reed to fill Stallworth's spot. The decision could hinge on the Ravens choosing a player who excels on special teams, a facet Williams struggles with.

Ravens WR Demetrius Williams appeared to fall behind rookie fifth-round pick David Reed on the depth chart at the end of OTAs.

Williams left the last OTA early due to frustration with his reps, and doesn't look likely to make the roster. Still talented enough to receive interest if cut, Williams could be an attractive pickup for a receiver-needy club.

Demetrius Williams left the Ravens' final OTA two days early, allegedly over not getting enough reps.

Williams has since denied that he left in frustration, but the writing is on the wall for the talented but inconsistent fifth-year man. He's squarely on the roster bubble after never capitalizing on years of offseason hype. A change of scenery would do Williams some good.

The star of the Ravens' first offseason workout was Demetrius Williams, according to the Baltimore Sun.

We wouldn't read too much into this. The oft-injured Williams often stars on the practice field without pads on, but it almost never translates to real-life production. He's on the roster bubble and could probably use a change of scenery anyway.

Ravens re-signed restricted free agent WR Demetrius Williams to a one-year, $1.176 million contract.

A fourth-round pick out of Oregon in 2006, Williams hasn't gotten any better since averaging 18 yards per catch with a pair of touchdowns in his rookie season. He'll be on the bubble in camp following the Anquan Boldin deal.

The Ravens have extended an original pick tender to restricted free agent Demetrius Williams.

While they've been frustrated with Williams' inability to stay on the field, a team as receiver-strapped as the Ravens can't afford to let a talented deep threat go without some sort of compensation. He's still not a lock to make the roster, and could be waived if a true No. 1-caliber wideout is acquired.

Beat writer Jamison Hensley doesn't expect the Ravens to tender restricted free agent Demetrius Williams.

Though the Ravens are desperate for wideout help, they've had enough of the talented yet unreliable Williams. He's flashed speed but has been constantly injured and prone to drops on the field. A change of scenery is needed.
