Redskins released TE Dominique Byrd.
It's a bad sign for Byrd that he can't stick on a team that is without their top two tight ends in Fred Davis (suspension) and Chris Cooley (knee). He lost his job to practice squad type Rob Myers. Tue, Dec 20, 2011 10:40:00 AM

Cardinals waived TE Dominique Byrd, OT Casey Knips, and C/G David Moosman.

Cardinals TE Dominique Byrd is working some in a fullback/H-back role at camp.

Blocking was never considered Byrd's strongsuit, so we doubt this will work out. Versatility, however, will increase Byrd's chances of making the team.

The trial of former Rams tight end Dominique Byrd has been rescheduled for June 23 in St. Louis Circuit Court.

Byrd is facing charges of assault and armed criminal action stemming from a nightclub scuffle downtown in December 2006. The underachieving Byrd isn't going to find a welcoming market for his services.

Rams waived TE Dominique Byrd.

A third-round pick out of USC in 2006, Byrd could not get on the field behind Joe Klopfenstein, Randy McMichael, and Aaron Walker. He was also arrested in 2006 for striking a man in the face with a broken bottle at a bar, DUI in 2007, and was deactivated for the Rams' finale last season for missing a meeting. Byrd may not get another chance.
