Free agent WR Derek Hagan worked out for the Jets this week.

Hagan, 28, has bounced around since entering the league as a third-round pick of the Dolphins in 2006. He caught 20 passes for 259 yards in 14 games with the Raiders last season. The Jets are starving for depth.

Derek Hagan caught just one pass for 17 yards on two targets in Oakland's Week 11 loss to New Orleans.

Hagan was a popular pick up this week due to Darrius Heyward-Bey's (hamstring) uncertainty, but the veteran receiver was a non-factor with DHB active. He's safe to leave on the waiver wire for the remainder of the season.

Coach Dennis Allen said Derek Hagan will start Sunday's game against the Saints if Darrius Heyward-Bey (hamstring) is inactive.

Heyward-Bey appears to be on the wrong side of a questionable tag. If Hagan does get the nod, he'll be the "Z" receiver opposite Denarius Moore but a mere desperation PPR option. When DHB sat out at Denver Week 4, Hagan ended up with just two catches for 18 yards. This time, of course, he'd be facing the Swiss cheese Saints' secondary. Still, slot man Rod Streater and rookie Juron Criner project to steal targets.

Derek Hagan caught all four of his Week 6 targets for 85 yards in the Raiders' Week 6 loss to Atlanta.

Darrius Heyward-Bey got the start, but Hagan appeared to play just as many snaps against the Falcons and got open regularly downfield as a viable No. 2 pass option for Carson Palmer. Hagan has long been a solid real-life NFL player. He just won't offer much upside as a Week 7 bye-week play against Jacksonville, playing behind Denarius Moore and Heyward-Bey.

Starting in place of Darrius Heyward-Bey (concussion), Derek Hagan caught two passes for 18 yards in Oakland's Week 4 loss.

Hagan drew five targets as he failed to clear 20 yards for the second time in four games. "Starting" or not, Hagan simply isn't a viable fantasy option, even in exceptionally-deep leagues. He's on pace for a yawn-inducing line of 40/408/0.

The Contra Costa Times' Steve Corkran expects Derek Hagan to be the Raiders' starting Z receiver in Week 4 against the Broncos.

Unless the Broncos are using him to shadow opposing No. 1s -- which they've barely done this year -- Champ Bailey most often squares off with Z receivers. Hagan would have a brutal matchup in that scenario. Look for Denarius Moore to pace Oakland in targets Sunday. Rod Streater figures to play in the slot.

Derek Hagan caught four passes for 44 yards in Week 1.

Hagan was signed off the street just four days prior to Monday night's tilt with the Chargers. So, overall he did an admirable job filling in. Hagan was targeted seven times on the night on mostly short passes over the middle. He has no fantasy value going forward.

Raiders signed WR Derek Hagan, formerly of the Bills.

The addition of 28-year-old Hagan may indicate the Raiders don't envision Denarius Moore (hamstring) playing Monday night against the Chargers. A journeyman possession receiver, Hagan has 109 career catches over six seasons. He could be active for a reserve role in Week 1, but isn't on the fantasy radar.

Jets worked out free agent WR Derek Hagan.

Hagan made waves early in training camp with the Bills, but got caught in a numbers crunch on cut-down day. He could climb a shallow depth chart quickly if signed by the Jets.

Bills waived WRs Derek Hagan, Ruvell Martin, Naaman Roosevelt, Kamar Aiken and Marcus Easley.

Each player was known to be on the bubble, but it's surprising the Bills have opted to keep only WR/QB Brad Smith behind Stevie Johnson, David Nelson, Donald Jones and T.J. Graham. Hagan drew praise from coach Chan Gailey early in camp, while Ryan Fitzpatrick called Roosevelt "the man." Nevertheless, one of the league's most muddled receiver corps has finally achieved some clarity.

Coach Chan Gailey indicated that WR Derek Hagan is "working his tail off" and "pushing hard to be a big part of this offense."

Hagan has picked up where he left off in last year's season finale (7 receptions, 89 yards), impressing since camp opened while earning Ryan Fitzpatrick's trust. Rotoworld gives the early edge to Hagan in the battle with Donald Jones, Marcus Easley and T.J. Graham for snaps opposite Stevie Johnson. There's sleeper appeal here in deep leagues.

Derek Hagan expects to compete for the starting job opposite Stevie Johnson this summer.

Hagan has been lining up in Johnson's "X" spot while the starter recovers from groin surgery, but he's expected to compete with Donald Jones in camp. Hagan has a better chance than Jones of making a fantasy impact, provided he wins the job.

With Stevie Johnson (groin surgery) sidelined, Derek Hagan opened OTAs as the starter opposite Donald Jones.

Johnson is unlikely to practice before camp, so Hagan will get plenty of work as his primary backup. Jones remains the favorite for the Bills' No. 2 wideout job, with David Nelson as the slot receiver and Marcus Easley as well as third-round pick T.J. Graham as potential training camp wild cards.

Bills re-signed WR Derek Hagan.

Waived by the Raiders last November, Hagan went on to catch 13 passes for 138 yards in four games as a Bill. He made seven grabs for 89 yards in a Week 17 start. Hagan has a decent chance at earning a roster spot, but won't be higher than fifth on the depth chart if things go according to plan for the Bills.
