Raiders agreed to terms with WR Chad Jackson, formerly of the Bills.
The Bills were Jackson's most recent NFL stop, but he's actually coming off a stint with the UFL's Omaha Nighthawks. Notorious for shining in practice but shrinking in games, Jackson is facing long odds to crack the Raiders roster. Sat, Aug 6, 2011 02:52:00 PM

Free agent Chad Jackson has signed with the UFL's Omaha Nighthawks.

Other somewhat notable names added to the Omaha roster: Ex-Texans LB Morlon Greenwood, former Purdue WR Greg Orton, ex-49ers OL Joe Toledo, and former Oklahoma DT DeMarcus Granger. Jackson tried out for the Redskins last November after being released by Buffalo. He was the 36th overall pick in the 2006 draft.

Free agent WRs Chad Jackson and Bobby Williams were among more than a dozen players to try out for the Redskins on Tuesday.

Also working out were defensive ends Charles Grant and William Joseph and defensive backs Justin Miller and Ty Hill. The headliner, of course, was JaMarcus Russell, though none of the beat writers believe that was more than just a favor to his agent.

Bills released WR Chad Jackson.

As usual, Jackson earned high praise in training camp only to fall off the map in preseason action. With James Hardy also being dumped, undrafted rookie David Nelson is locked into the No. 4 receiver spot.

Chad Jackson has a "legitimate shot at one of the top-four receiver spots," according to the Buffalo News.

Jackson is a notorious camp darling, so we're taking this with a grain of salt. Even if Jackson ends up making the team, he'll need an injury to Steve Johnson or Lee Evans to get on the field.

Bills WR Chad Jackson has been a standout in practices and could challenge for a starting spot opposite Lee Evans.

"The guy comes out to play every day," said coach Chan Gailey. "It looks like he’s made up his mind that he wants to be a very good football player." We've heard this story before. Jackson always shines in practice, only to disappear when the real games start. He'd do well just to make the roster.

Player sources tell FOX Sports' Adam Caplan that WR Chad Jackson "might have been the most impressive" skill player at Bills OTAs and minicamps.

Caplan says "winning a starting job could be in the equation" for Jackson, who has often shined on the practice field in non-contact drills. It's hitting that's seemingly always posed the biggest challenge for the former No. 36 overall pick. We're not holding our breath that he'll unseat Steve Johnson.

The Bills consider Chad Jackson a split end or "X" receiver, according to the team's official site.

In other words, Jackson is competing to be Lee Evans' backup and isn't in the mix to line up across from Buffalo's No. 1 receiver. Even if Jackson makes the team, he'd only see significant snaps if Evans went down.

Bills signed WR Chad Jackson, formerly of the Broncos.

A player with Jackson's size-speed combination is always worth a look in the March-April phase of the offseason program, but the former second-round pick hasn't come close to panning out. Despite the Bills' thinness at wide receiver, Jackson should face an uphill battle to make the final 53.

The Cowboys reportedly worked out free agent WR Chad Jackson this week.

At least Jackson is still trying. The No. 36 overall pick in 2006 didn't make the Broncos out of training camp last year and failed to catch on with a team in-season. Still only 24, he'll likely latch on somewhere this spring.

Broncos waived WR Chad Jackson.

The move creates room for Brandon Marshall to return from suspension. It's a bad sign for Jackson's career that he got the heave-ho instead of Brandon Lloyd, not that the former Patriots second-round pick needs anymore of those.

Former Patriots second-rounder Chad Jackson started opposite Eddie Royal Sunday night.

Brandon Stokley stayed in the slot, and Brandon Lloyd was the fourth receiver. Brandon Marshall will likely start Week 1 -- as long as he doesn't shoot off his mouth again -- which leaves Jackson without fantasy value.

Beat writer Frank Schwab observed that WR Chad Jackson picked up more reps as Broncos' minicamps went along.

The former Patriots second-rounder recorded just one catch in four games last season after signing off the street. He's competing against fifth-round pick Kenny McKinley and Brandon Lloyd for the Broncos' fifth receiver role. That position will come down to special teams play, hurting Lloyd's case.

Broncos declared WR Chad Jackson, S Marlon McCree, CB Jack Williams, FB Andrew Pinnock, FB/LB Spencer Larsen, LB Niko Koutouvides, OL Pat Murray, and DE Tim Crowder inactive for Week 16.

The Broncos are again going without a lead blocker in the backfield, indicating they will likely run a pass-happy attack against Buffalo. The Bills are not shabby in the secondary, however, and this figures to be a close game. It's hard to imagine either side putting up many points.

Broncos declared WR Chad Jackson, WR Glenn Martinez, LB D.J. Williams, S Marlon McCree, DE Tim Crowder, DT Josh Shaw, RB P.J. Pope, and CB Champ Bailey inactive for Thursday night's battle in Cleveland.

Karl Paymah starts at left corner for Bailey with Wesley Woodyard at weak side linebacker for Williams. Jarvis Moss, coming off a two-sack game, is active. Tony Scheffler and Selvin Young are both active, as expected.
