The commissioner's office has reportedly reinstated former Rams DT Claude Wroten from his one-year suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
Wroten was suspended for a year back in August of 2008, but it appears that his suspension was extended at least once and possibly multiple times. Wroten's agent is attempting to drum up interest in the 2006 third-rounder after two years away from the game. He failed to make an impact in St. Louis even before the suspensions. The UFL's Florida Tuskers have announced a 21-man roster that includes former Rams DT Claude Wroten.

Former Vikings TE Jermaine Wiggins and Titans OG Zach Piller are also on the roster. Wroten was suspended for all of 2008 by the NFL for violating the league's substance abuse policy. He was St. Louis' third-round pick in 2008.

The Rams have asked suspended DT Claude Wroten to pay back part of his rookie signing bonus.

Maybe they'll give it to Steven Jackson. St. Louis filed a grievance against Wroten, who's out for the entire 2008 season. He got an $805,000 signing bonus on a four-year contract in 2006. The Rams want $201,250 back.

NFL suspended Rams DT Claude Wroten one year for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Wroten, the No. 68 overall pick in 2006, has barely cracked St. Louis' rotation the past two years. He had 13 tackles and one sack in 2007. The Rams are thin behind their top three DTs; La'Roi Glover, Adam Carriker, and Cliff Ryan.

Claude Wroten returned Monday after serving a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

"He'll be in there, more likely in passing situations," defensive coordinator Jim Haslett said. "But he'll be in there in the mix in the other downs, too."

Rams DT Claude Wroten has been suspended four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Wroten tested positive for marijuana at the 2006 scouting combine, and was also arrested for intent to distribute pot, which likely put him in the league's substance abuse program. It's very possible the abused substance wasn't "enhancing" in nature.

Rams coach Scott Linehan spoke recently with DT Claude Wroten and says Wroten's latest legal issue should "all be worked out before camp starts."

Wroten was charged with simple criminal damage to property, little compared to his 2006 arrest for intent to distribute marijuana. It sounds like the team is still counting on the young pass rusher to play a big role this season.

Rams DT Claude Wroten was reportedly arrested Thursday on one count of simple criminal damage to property.

A police spokesperson said Wroten allegedly forcibly entered an ex-girlfriend's room on LSU campus and removed items that he had given to her. Wroten had character concerns leading up to the draft including a failed drug test that caused him to fall to the third round.

Rams agreed to terms with former LSU defensive tackle Claude Wroten on a four-year contract.

A boom-or-bust type, Wroten has first-round talent but a checkered past. He'll have to overcome weight and character issues, but Wroten could crack the starting lineup as a rookie if Jimmy Kennedy continues to underachieve.

Rams selected LSU DT Claude Wroten with the No. 68 pick in the NFL Draft.

Wroten reportedly tested positive for a substance forbidden by the league at the NFL Combine and some teams took him completely off their boards. He brings first-round talent, however, and should provide excellent depth if he's eligible for next season.

The Ravens have taken LSU defensive tackle Claude Wroten completely off their draft board.

Baltimore won't use a pick on Wroten, Florida State LB AJ Nicholson, or athletic Georgia Tech corner Reuben Houston, all off-field question marks. It appears the Ravens are trying to change their image.

Profootballtalk.com reports LSU DT Claude Wroten and Missouri St. K Jon Scifres tested positive at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Wroten is one of the three most talented defensive tackles in this draft. Failing a test that is announced in advanced could send him spiraling out of the first day of the draft. Former Wisconin and current Raiders DT Anttaj Hawthorne experienced a drop to the sixth-round last year in a similar scenario. Scifres' was considered a top three kicker, but probably wasn't getting drafted anyway.
