Texans re-signed CB Johnathan Joseph to a two-year contract.
This should give Joseph a chance to finish his career in Houston. The 33-year-old was one of the few bright spots in Houston's overmatched secondary last year, appearing in all 16 games while earning positive marks from ProFootballFocus. The two-time Pro Bowler ranks 11th among active players with 28 career interceptions. Mar 15 - 10:43 AM

The Texans are expected to explore bringing back free agent Johnathan Joseph.

Texans GM Brian Gaine said he was considering a new deal for Joseph at the Combine. Joseph is open to staying in Houston but he's coming off a down year where he made $6.5 million. The Texans want Joseph to take a team-friendly deal to return.

Impending free agent CB Johnathan Joseph said he wants to re-sign with the Texans.

Set to turn 34 in April, this likely will be Joseph's final foray into free agency, but he would rather sign a new deal with the Texans than test the open market. Joseph has not been the corner of old this season, but he has still been a quality option. The two sides should be able to get something done.

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 6.

It was easily the 33-year-old's best game of the season against Browns QB Kevin Hogan making his first start. According to Pro Football Focus, Joseph was thrown at six times, allowing two catches for three yards and picking off two passes, returning one for a touchdown. Joseph is in the final year of his deal.

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph (shoulder) was limited at Thursday's practice.

Joseph underwent an MRI after leaving last week's game with a shoulder injury but has already put in two limited practices this week and should play his usual role Sunday at New England. The Texans are still shorthanded at cornerback with Kevin Johnson (MCL) out 4-6 weeks.

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph underwent an MRI on his injured right shoulder.

Joseph bowed out of Thursday night's game with a bad shoulder but his injury isn't considered serious. His first MRI showed no major damage and he'll have another one on Friday to confirm the diagnosis. Joseph has nine days to get ready for Week 3 against New England.

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph was forced from Houston's Week 2 game against the Bengals with a right shoulder injury, and will not return.

Joseph racked his shoulder laying the wood on Tyler Eifert late in the first half. He was listed as questionable to return before being ruled out late in the third quarter. Joseph appeared to be in a pretty good amount of pain as he headed to the locker room.

Johnathan Joseph said he has no plans to retire.

"I feel good, finished up really strong down the stretch," said the 32-year-old after Saturday's Divisional Round loss to New England. "As long as my body is letting me do that, I'm looking forward to playing each and every year." Joseph has one year remaining on his contract and is still one of the more effective cornerbacks in the league when healthy. He's tied for 13th among active players with 26 career interceptions.

Johnathan Joseph (ribs, shoulder) wasn't listed on the Texans' final injury report for Saturday's Wild Card game against the Raiders.

Joseph missed Week 17 but returned to full practice this week and should be all set for Saturday's Wild Card game. He'll make things tougher for Michael Crabtree, who had his worst game of the season against Houston back in Week 11.

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph (ribs) is questionable for Week 17 against the Titans.

Joseph returned to action last week after missing the previous two games with a rib injury. His status for Week 17 is suddenly in question after missing Friday's practice. The Texans may opt to sit Joseph on Sunday to keep him as fresh as possible for next week's Wild Card game.

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph (ribs) is questionable for Week 16 against the Bengals.

Joseph has been a limited participant at practice this week. We're guessing he'll be out there Saturday in a must-win game. Joseph could see a lot of A.J. Green (hamstring), who is coming back from a four-game absence.

Texans declared CB Johnathan Joseph, G Jeff Allen, TE C.J. Fiedorowicz, S Don Jones, LB Whitney Mercilus, LB John Simon and QB Brandon Weeden inactive for Week 15 against the Jaguars.

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph (ribs) is questionable for Week 15 against the Jaguars.

Joseph returned to a limited practice on Friday after sitting out Wednesday and Thursday. He'll probably be a game-time decision. Robert Nelson filled in at left corner last week against Indianapolis and would probably do so again if Joseph can't get the green light.

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph (ribs) remained sidelined at Thursday's practice.

Though he'll officially be listed as a DNP, Joseph did do some side work for the second day in a row. The Texans are still calling him day to day. It's hard to envision Joseph suiting up this week if he doesn't return to at least a limited session on Friday.
