Texans CB Johnathan Joseph (toe surgery) still isn't 100 percent, but is ready for the start of the regular season.

Joseph at less than 100 percent could be a scary thought for Texans fans, as he's been extremely inconsistent throughout his three years in Houston, especially as he played through his toe issue in 2013. He's again starting opposite Kareem Jackson.

The New York Daily News believes the Jets could have interest in trading for Texans CB Johnathan Joseph.

The Jets are desperate for corner depth with Dee Milliner (ankle) sidelined, leaving Darrin Walls and Antonio Allen to start in base sets. Joseph missed the entire preseason recovering from toe surgery, but is expected to be ready for Week 1. His $11.25 million cap number makes any trade unlikely.
Aug 30 - 10:04 PM

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph (toe) was active for the start of camp.

Joseph sat out the offseason program recovering from surgery on a toe that bothered him all last season. Now healthy, Joseph will look to bounce back from his inconsistent 2013 campaign.

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph (toe) is sitting out OTAs.

Joseph's toe was an issue for all of 2013 before landing him on injured reserve in Week 17. He underwent subsequent surgery. We'd expect he'll be ready for Week 1.

CSN Houston believes CB Johnathan Joseph could be a salary cap casualty.

Joseph is coming off an injury-marred season and has an $11.25 million 2014 cap number. He still managed to grade out as a top-25 corner by Pro Football Focus and is likely to return despite his high salary. Houston would clear $3.75 million in cap savings by cutting Joseph, but leave $7.5 million in dead money.

Texans placed CB Johnathan Joseph on injured reserve with a toe injury, ending his season.

This was simply a procedural move. Joseph had already been ruled out for Week 17 with a torn ligament in his toe and needs surgery. He's due $7.5 million in 2014 after an injury-riddled season. Joseph will turn 30 in April.

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph is done for the season with a torn ligament in his toe.

Joseph requires surgery after suffering the injury in Sunday's loss to the Broncos. Joseph had been dealing with toe issues since September. It caps what's been an injury-marred and inconsistent season for the eight-year veteran. Joseph has graded out as the No. 21 cornerback in Pro Football Focus' ratings. It's unclear if he'll be ready for the Texans' offseason program. Signed through 2015, Joseph is due $7.5 million next season.

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph suffered a groin injury in Sunday's loss.

He underwent an MRI on Monday, the results of which have yet to be revealed. For now, the Texans' No. 1 corner should be considered day to day. The timing of his injury couldn't be worse with the Texans set to host Peyton Manning and the Broncos in Week 16.

Texans starting CBs Johnathan Joseph (toe) and Kareem Jackson (illness) both missed their second consecutive practice on Thursday, but are expected to return on Friday.

They're expected to be fine for Sunday's showdown with the Seahawks. Both players are off to poor starts this season, and will face a major test in Russell Wilson.

Texans RCB Johnathan Joseph underwent double sports-hernia surgery after the season, but says he's back to 100 percent.

"With the groin issues and everything behind me and the sports hernia on both sides, I had both those fixed," Joseph said. "Now I have more pop, more explosion with my legs. I can run all day again. ... I'm having probably the best OTAs I've had in four or five years." Injured nearly all year, Joseph's play regressed sharply last season from his stellar 2011. He's a nice bounce-back candidate as long as he manages to stay healthy.

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph (hamstring, groin) told reporters Friday that he will definitely play on Monday Night Football at New England.

"I'm good to go," he said. Asked if he'll start, Joseph replied "No doubt. No doubt about it." Joseph figures to match up with Brandon Lloyd on the majority of Monday night's snaps, leaving Lloyd with a hazy Week 14 fantasy matchup.
