Texans RCB Johnathan Joseph underwent double sports-hernia surgery after the season, but says he's back to 100 percent.
"With the groin issues and everything behind me and the sports hernia on both sides, I had both those fixed," Joseph said. "Now I have more pop, more explosion with my legs. I can run all day again. ... I'm having probably the best OTAs I've had in four or five years." Injured nearly all year, Joseph's play regressed sharply last season from his stellar 2011. He's a nice bounce-back candidate as long as he manages to stay healthy. Jun 3 - 11:19 AM

Texans RCB Johnathan Joseph (hamstring) is active for Monday night's game versus the Patriots.

Joseph returns to the lineup after missing the previous two weeks. Houston declared RT Derek Newton, CB Alan Ball, OLB Brooks Reed, OG Antoine Caldwell, OG Cody White, TE Garrett Graham, and DT Terrell McClain inactive. Ryan Harris will start at right tackle in place of Newton. Brandon Harris will be the team's nickel corner.

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph (hamstring, groin) told reporters Friday that he will definitely play on Monday Night Football at New England.

"I'm good to go," he said. Asked if he'll start, Joseph replied "No doubt. No doubt about it." Joseph figures to match up with Brandon Lloyd on the majority of Monday night's snaps, leaving Lloyd with a hazy Week 14 fantasy matchup.

Texans RCB Johnathan Joseph (hamstring, groin) will likely be a game-time decision for Monday's tilt in New England.

Coach Gary Kubiak said Joseph took close to half of the snaps in Thursday's practice and looked "very explosive." The Texans' injury-depleted secondary has surrendered an average of 368 yards to Chad Henne, Matthew Stafford, and Jake Locker the past three weeks.

Texans declared RCB Johnathan Joseph, ILB Bradie James, RT Derek Newton, CB Alan Ball, OLB Brooks Reed, G Antoine Caldwell, and G Cody White inactive for Week 13 against the Titans.

Joseph is out with a hamstring injury, so Brice McCain will get the start at right corner. James has a hamstring injury as well, and Newton is dealing with a knee issue. Barrett Ruud will start in place of James, while Ryan Harris gets the start at right tackle.

Texans RCB Johnathan Joseph (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 13 against the Titans.

Houston's pass defense has struggled mightily with Joseph out of the lineup this season, which upgrades Jake Locker and Kenny Britt's Week 13 fantasy matchups. The Texans will turn to raw Brandon Harris as their nickel back, with Kareem Jackson and Bruce McCain starting on the corners.

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph (hamstring) will be a game-time decision against the Titans.

Coach Gary Kubiak doesn't expect Joseph to practice before Friday, and the tea leaves suggest he'll sit out against Jake Locker and company. Playing without Joseph on Thanksgiving, the Texans allowed Matthew Stafford to throw for 441 yards.

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph (hamstring) told reporters Monday that he expects to play in Week 13 against the Titans.

Joseph hasn't played since November 18. He was held out on Thanksgiving, and the lengthy rest period should help him get back to full strength for the upcoming division game. Joseph was a revelation in his first season with Houston, but the injury woes that plagued him in Cincinnati have reappeared in year two.

Texans declared CB Johnathan Joseph (hamstring) inactive for Thursday's game against the Lions.

It's a major blow to a Texans secondary that gave up 354 yards and four touchdowns to Chad Henne last week. Look for burnable No. 2 corner Kareem Jackson to see a lot of time on Calvin Johnson and get exploited while fill-in Alan Ball lines up on the other side. The Texans will also be without backup RB Ben Tate (hamstring), LB Tim Dobbins (shoulder) and NT Shaun Cody (back). Their other inactives are WR DeVier Posey (knee), OT Andrew Gardner and G Cody White.

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph's Monday MRI revealed a strained hamstring, and he will be a game-time decision for Thursday's game against the Lions.

Joseph exited Sunday's overtime win over the Jaguars late in the contest and described his injury as a "slight pull" after the game. LCB Kareem Jackson was abused by Justin Blackmon and Cecil Shorts, and with Calvin Johnson on deck, Joseph's absence would certainly be felt. Presumably, Brice McCain would likely get the start in Joseph's absence.

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph (hamstring) stated after Sunday's win that his status for Thanksgiving against the Lions is uncertain.

Joseph described his hamstring injury as a "slight pull." The potential absence of Joseph would be especially problematic with Calvin Johnson next on tap. Texans LCB Kareem Jackson got lit up in Sunday's win over the Jaguars, surrendering big plays to Cecil Shorts and struggling rookie Justin Blackmon.

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph exited Houston's Week 11 win over the Jaguars in overtime with a hamstring injury.

Joseph has also battled a groin injury this season. We should know more on the Texans' top cover man later tonight or early this week.
Sun, Nov 18, 2012 06:37:00 PM

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph is active for Week 7 against the Ravens.

Houston's inactives against Baltimore are CB Roc Carmichael, S Quintin Demps, OT Andrew Gardner, OG Chris White, DE David Hunter, OG Brandon Brooks, and ILB Barrett Ruud. Joseph has been burnt in coverage the past two weeks playing through a groin injury, but the Texans believe keeping him out there gives them their best chance to win. Torrey Smith should be licking his chops.
Sun, Oct 21, 2012 11:37:00 AM

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph (groin, questionable) will be a game-time decision in Week 7 against the Ravens.

Coach Gary Kubiak stated Friday that Joseph is "heading in the right direction" and his outlook is "very positive." We'll see. Joseph has been picked on the past two weeks playing at less than 100 percent, and his presence should no longer be feared by fantasy owners looking to start Torrey Smith against Houston.
Fri, Oct 19, 2012 02:04:00 PM

Texans RCB Johnathan Joseph (groin) won't practice Wednesday or Thursday, and will be an "end-of-the-week decision."

Playing hurt the past two weeks, Joseph has been getting roasted in coverage, and it appears the Texans may opt to hold him out against the Ravens with their bye looming in Week 8. Either way, things are shaping up nicely for Torrey Smith, who will either have a reserve or gimpy Joseph to contend with on Sunday.
