Johnathan Joseph said he has no plans to retire.
"I feel good, finished up really strong down the stretch," said the 32-year-old after Saturday's Divisional Round loss to New England. "As long as my body is letting me do that, I'm looking forward to playing each and every year." Joseph has one year remaining on his contract and is still one of the more effective cornerbacks in the league when healthy. He's tied for 13th among active players with 26 career interceptions. Johnathan Joseph (ribs, shoulder) wasn't listed on the Texans' final injury report for Saturday's Wild Card game against the Raiders.

Joseph missed Week 17 but returned to full practice this week and should be all set for Saturday's Wild Card game. He'll make things tougher for Michael Crabtree, who had his worst game of the season against Houston back in Week 11.

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph (ribs) is questionable for Week 17 against the Titans.

Joseph returned to action last week after missing the previous two games with a rib injury. His status for Week 17 is suddenly in question after missing Friday's practice. The Texans may opt to sit Joseph on Sunday to keep him as fresh as possible for next week's Wild Card game.

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph (ribs) is questionable for Week 16 against the Bengals.

Joseph has been a limited participant at practice this week. We're guessing he'll be out there Saturday in a must-win game. Joseph could see a lot of A.J. Green (hamstring), who is coming back from a four-game absence.

Texans declared CB Johnathan Joseph, G Jeff Allen, TE C.J. Fiedorowicz, S Don Jones, LB Whitney Mercilus, LB John Simon and QB Brandon Weeden inactive for Week 15 against the Jaguars.

Joseph will miss his second straight game with a rib injury. Fiedorowicz is out with a concussion while Mercilus is nursing a back issue. Lamar Miller (ankle, ribs) and DeAndre Hopkins (hamstring) were limited at practice this week but neither were listed on the final injury report.

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph (ribs) is questionable for Week 15 against the Jaguars.

Joseph returned to a limited practice on Friday after sitting out Wednesday and Thursday. He'll probably be a game-time decision. Robert Nelson filled in at left corner last week against Indianapolis and would probably do so again if Joseph can't get the green light.

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph (ribs) remained sidelined at Thursday's practice.

Though he'll officially be listed as a DNP, Joseph did do some side work for the second day in a row. The Texans are still calling him day to day. It's hard to envision Joseph suiting up this week if he doesn't return to at least a limited session on Friday.
Thu, Dec 15, 2016 01:33:00 PM

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph (ribs) said he is "shooting for" a Week 15 return.

Joseph was not able to play Sunday after suffering cracked ribs and a bruised lung Week 13 against the Packers. "It's a day-to-day thing," Joseph said. "Hopefully, the next day is better." Houston did a surprisingly good job against Andrew Luck even without Joseph in the lineup, but the Texans would be happy to see him back on the field against the Jaguars.

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph (ribs) is inactive for Week 14 against the Colts.

Joseph was a game-time decision despite not practicing all week. He should be on track for a Week 15 return. A.J. Bouye will start in Joseph's place.

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph (ribs, questionable) said "pain toleration" will determine if he can play Week 14 against the Colts.

Joseph did not practice all week, but coach Bill O'Brien said there is a "remote possibility" he will be able to play. Joseph plans to "give it a shot" in pregame warmups, but it seems unlikely he suits up. Kareem Jackson will likely get the start if Joseph sits.

Texans coach Bill O'Brien said there is a "remote possibility" CB Johnathan Joseph (ribs, questionable) will play in Week 14 against the Colts.

He hasn't practiced yet this week and looks like a long shot for Sunday. With Joseph's status in doubt, Kareem Jackson will likely start opposite A.J. Bouye in Week 14. This has the makings of another big week for T.Y. Hilton.
Fri, Dec 9, 2016 02:53:00 PM

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph has been diagnosed with two cracked ribs and a bruised lung.

It would seem Joseph is doubtful for Sunday's critical divisional showdown with the Colts. Now 32, Joseph has remained a near every-down player this season, and is a critical part of the Texans' solid pass defense. His absence would be a huge break for the Colts.

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph exited Week 13 against the Packers with an injury to his ribs.

Joseph left the game in the fourth quarter and never returned. The corner said after the game, "It's a little hard to breathe right now." Relying on their defense to carry them to the playoffs, the Texans cannot afford to be without Joseph.
