Daryn Colledge has been lining up at right guard in Cardinals OTAs.
It's an indication the Cardinals plan to keep first-round pick Jonathan Cooper at his college position of left guard, even though Cooper was running with the second-team offense Tuesday. Colledge has been a left guard throughout his career, but the Cardinals must trust he can make the transition. They could just be experimenting, of course. We might not get a clear idea of how things will shake out along the Birds' line before training camp. May 14 - 9:17 PM

Cardinals LG Daryn Colledge restructured his contract in order to save the team $2.325 million in cap space.

Colledge didn't take a pay cut. He decreased his $3.8 million salary to $700K and received a $3.1 million "signing" bonus to compensate. The bonus is prorated, dropping College's 2012 cap number from $5.5 million to $3.175 million. His future cap numbers are all higher now, however. Colledge graded out as a top-eight run blocking guard by Pro Football Focus during his first season with Arizona. He struggled mightily as a pass protector.

Cardinals LG Daryn Colledge underwent elbow surgery on Tuesday.

Colledge knew the procedure was coming for a couple of weeks. It's not believed to be more than a cleanup procedure. Signed away from the Packers last season, Colledge is one of the few long-term building blocks up front for Arizona.

Cardinals LG Daryn Colledge will undergo offseason elbow surgery.

It sounds like a cleanup procedure. Colledge's OTA and training camp work in 2012 should be in no way affected. Signed to a five-year, $27.5 million deal last July, Colledge graded out as Pro Football Focus' 41st guard in the NFL, among 76. PFF was particularly critical of Colledge's pass blocking.

Cardinals LG Daryn Colledge left Sunday's game against the Vikings with a concussion and will not return.

D'Anthony Batiste has come on, a concern for the Cardinals' run-blocking going forward.

Cardinals agreed to terms with OG Daryn Colledge, formerly of the Packers.

The Packers allowed Colledge to walk because they want to force themselves to get better at the position. Colledge started 76 of 80 games in Green Bay since being drafted in the second round back in 2007. This is the first of several moves up front for the Cardinals, who are revamping a poor pass-blocking line. Colledge will replace retired Alan Faneca at left guard.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch expects free agent OG Daryn Colledge to sign with the Cardinals.

It's not clear if the Rams have bowed out of the mix, or if they were ever a serious contender. In addition to those teams, the Bucs and Redskins have reportedly shown interest in Colledge.

Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel has "heard" that the Rams also may have interest in free agent OG Daryn Colledge.

Previous reports linked Colledge to the Cardinals, but he would be a poor fit for their power-running scheme. The Rams have valued pass protection above all else from their guard spots in recent seasons. Colledge excels in that area.

The Cardinals are the current favorite to land free agent LG Daryn Colledge, according to his agent.

Colledge is an athletic interior lineman that started every game for the Super Bowl champion Packers last season. While nothing is imminent, he'd be a nice addition for a Cardinals team that may lose Deuce Lutui in free agency.

Free agent LG Daryn Colledge confirmed that he doesn't expect to be back with the Packers this season.

"The Packers have had a lot of years to re-sign me if they wanted to, so it looks like they might just let me go to free agency," he said. "Whether that’s a business decision or a personal decision, I don’t know." Colledge, 29, is best suited for a zone-blocking system where he can put his athleticism to use. The Redskins, Texans, and Seahawks are potential suitors.

ESPN Milwaukee's Jason Wilde believes it's "very unlikely" that free agent LG Daryn Colledge will return to Green Bay this summer.

The Packers ignored Colledge's request for a long-term extension last year, and they're even deeper up front this time around. T.J. Lang, Nick McDonald, and first-rounder Derek Sherrod are candidates to step into Colledge's left guard spot.

Packers extended a second-round restricted free agent tender to LG Daryn Colledge.

The five-year vet will almost certainly end up an unrestricted free agent, and the Packers aren't expected to put much effort into re-signing him.

Free agent LG Daryn Colledge is considered "doubtful" to return to the Packers in 2011.

The Wisconsin State Journal characterized Colledge as "clearly the weakest link" on Green Bay's line, and he's also not exactly been a favorite of the coaching staff. Though Colledge has proven durable and mostly effective inside, he's going to command more money than the Packers are willing to pay.

Impending free agent LG Daryn Colledge's Green Bay future is up in the air heading into the offseason.

Colledge is coming off what may be the best season of his five-year career, but he's still just an average guard. If he wants to cash in on the Super Bowl victory, he could price himself out of the Packers' plans.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy said LG Daryn Colledge (knee) could be ready to play in Week 15.

Colledge isn't one of the Packers' better offensive linemen, but it would be a downgrade from him to Jason Spitz or T.J. Lang. It's good news for a Packers offense that could be without Aaron Rodgers against the Patriots.
