Cowboys placed C Ryan Cook on injured reserve with an undisclosed injury, ending his season.
Cook failed his pre-camp conditioning test, but this is the first we've heard of an injury. Going into the final year of his contract, it's an inglorious end to Cook's star-crossed Cowboys career. An 11-game fill-in starter for Phil Costa last season, Cook was slowed by knee and hamstring ailments along the way. Tue, Aug 27, 2013 04:23:00 PM

Cook failed his pre-training camp conditioning test, but returned to practice on a limited basis Tuesday. The Cowboys officially removed him from the NFI list.

Cowboys C Ryan Cook (knee) has not practiced all week with knee injury and is officially listed as doubtful on the injury report.

Guard Mackenzy Bernadeau has taken the majority of the reps with the first team this week and is expected to make his first career start at center. Veteran backup Derrick Dockery will go at right guard with Bernadeau at center.

Cowboys C Ryan Cook (hamstring) is not expected to be active for Sunday's game against the Panthers.

Cook has yet to return to practice. With Phil Costa (probable, hamstring) back in the starting lineup, Cook won't be guaranteed playing time when healthy. David Arkin will serve as the Cowboys' emergency center.

Cowboys acquired C Ryan Cook from the Dolphins for an undisclosed draft pick.

The compensation is expected to be a seventh-rounder. The Dolphins will shed Cook's $1 million salary while handing the backup job to undrafted rookie Josh Samuda. Cook started 40 games over six seasons with the Vikings before joining Miami. The desperate Cowboys will count on Cook as insurance for shaky starter Phil Costa.

Vikings agreed to terms with OL Ryan Cook on a two-year contract.

Charlie Johnson doesn't count as insurance for RG Anthony Herrera (ACL surgery) if he's locked in at left tackle. Cook brings versatility and experience to the table, but not much else. He could open the season as the starter if Herrera isn't ready.

Coach Leslie Frazier singled out OL Ryan Cook as a player who is expected to take on a larger role in 2011.

Frazier expects few changes up front, but Cook could knock off RG Anthony Herrera who is recovering from ACL as well as triceps surgery. Second-year developmental project Chris DeGeare figures to be in the mix, too.

Vikings extended an original pick restricted free agent tender to OL Ryan Cook.

Cook is a five-year vet, so this is another futile tender. A seven-game starter last season, Cook has proven a jack of many trades but master of none. He can play four positions on the offensive line, but isn't good at any of them.

Vikings re-signed restricted free agent OL Ryan Cook to a one-year, $1.176 million contract.

Minnesota's right tackle in 2007 and 2008, Cook struggled in the first-team role and was more than adequately replaced by Phil Loadholt last season. Cook can play center, so he figures to hang around as a swing-type backup.

Ryan Cook is expected to be on the roster bubble this summer.

If rookie Phil Loadholt wins the right tackle job, Artis Hicks will take over as the versatile backup. The Vikes will have to determine if Cook is worth keeping as a backup center to John Sullivan.

The Vikings are expected to upgrade at right offensive tackle this offseason.

Incumbent Ryan Cook will stay on the roster because he's cheap and can play multiple positions, but didn't cut it in the pass or run game last year. The Vikes may target someone like Eben Britton (Arizona) with the No. 22 pick.

Vikings RT Ryan Cook has been demoted from the starting lineup.

He'll be replaced by Artis Hicks, who was serviceable in the first four games playing in place of then-suspended left tackle Bryant McKinnie. Cook, a second-round pick in 2006, will be in the last year of his contract in 2009.

Rookie Ryan Cook has moved into the starting lineup for Minnesota.

The right tackle appears to have a hold on the job after it looked like he might've simply been subbing in because of injury last week. A college center, Cook (6-7/327) certainly has the body for the transition outside.

Vikings signed C Ryan Cook to a four-year contract.

The deal includes a $1.2 million signing bonus. The second-rounder could play any offensive line position considering his 6'7, 327-pound size. He adds depth to a solid Minnesota line.

Vikings selected New Mexico C Ryan Cook with the No. 51 pick in the NFL Draft.

Listed at 6-6 plus, "The Hitman" tested well but wasn't rated by draftniks as highly as he went. He'll likely sit behind Matt Birk and Jason Whittle as a rookie, but with that size, a move to tackle is possible.
