Titans re-signed SS Bernard Pollard to a two-year, $6.3 million contract.
Pollard broke the news on his Twitter account. One of the league's hardest hitters, Pollard is coming off a typical season, racking up 99 tackles, three interceptions and 0.5 sacks. Pollard isn't much of a center fielder, but sets the tone against the run. The Titans like the "edge" he provided in 2013. Pollard turns 30 in December. He's been with four teams in his eight-year career. Mar 3 - 3:47 PM

The Nashville Tennessean reports the Titans are "in talks" with free agent SS Bernard Pollard.

Pollard is on the record as wanting to return to Tennessee. Pollard has made a habit of wearing out his welcome, but is coming off a strong season as an every-down player. As usual, he excelled against the run, racking up 99 tackles. He also notched three picks, grading out as the No. 21 safety in Pro Football Focus' ratings. The hard-hitter turned 29 in December.

Impending free agent SS Bernard Pollard expressed a desire to return to the Titans.

"I do want to come back, but some things have to be done right for me to be here," Pollard said. What he's referring to is unclear, but Pollard did voice support for coach Mike Munchak. Pollard, 29, signed a one-year deal with Tennessee and has registered a career-high 134 tackles in 2013. He's been solid against the run, as usual, and is a top-18 safety at Pro Football Focus.

The Nashville Tennessean expects the Titans to start Bernard Pollard over George Wilson at strong safety.

Wilson is the better all-around safety, but the Titans want more physicality at the box-safety position across from finesse FS Michael Griffin. DC Jerry Gray has left open the possibility of three-safety sets, which is not an abnormal NFL defensive look. It's one way to match up with offenses' two-tight end packages.

Titans signed SS Bernard Pollard, formerly of the Ravens, to a one-year contract.

Pollard is one of the most fearsome head-hunters in the league and led the Ravens in tackles last year, but there's a reason he's on his fourth team in seven years. Previous reports stated the 28-year-old is a problem in the locker room and nearly staged a mutiny in Baltimore last year. He also struggles mightily in coverage, where ProFootballFocus ranked him 68th among 85 qualifying safeties. Pollard will give the Titans some toughness as he steps in ahead of George Wilson opposite Michael Griffin, but there's more name than game here.

Free agent SS Bernard Pollard visited the Titans on Friday.

The Titans had one of the leakiest secondaries in the league last season. If the Titans signed Pollard, George Wilson would likely become the No. 3 safety.

Ravens released SS Bernard Pollard.

The purge continues in Baltimore. The hard-hitting Pollard had a $3.25 million cap figure and a $500K roster bonus in 2013, but was a core piece of the defense and is just 28 years old. The Super Bowl Champs have now lost a stunning six starters off their 2012 defense. Perhaps they're preparing to make an offer to retain Ed Reed. Pollard will not hurt for suitors after racking up 98 tackles, two sacks, one interception and six pass breakups in 13 starts a year ago.

Ravens SS Bernard Pollard says he played through six cracked ribs in Sunday's Super Bowl victory.

Playing through one cracked rib is difficult enough, but six is almost unheard of. It makes the fact that Pollard played all 62 of the Ravens' defensive snaps rather remarkable. Of course, it's possible Pollard is using a loose definition of the word "cracked," but it only adds to his already fearsome reputation. As hard hitting as ever at the age of 28, Pollard is due $2.5 million between salary and bonuses in 2013, making it almost certain he'll be back with the Ravens.

Ravens SS Bernard Pollard (chest) is active for Sunday's Wild Card Round game versus the Colts.

Pollard was listed as questionable on the injury report, but he's giving it a go. He hasn't played since Week 14. Backup James Ihedigbo will revert back to a special teams role. Pollard recorded 98 tackles, two sacks, one interception, and six pass break-ups the season.

Ravens SS Bernard Pollard (ribs) practiced on a limited basis all week and is expected to play in Sunday's Wild Card game against the Colts.

Pollard has been sidelined for the last three games. Despite missing this time, he still tallied an impressive 98 total tackles on the season. His presence will provide some much-needed reinforcement against the Colts' seventh-ranked pass offense.

Ravens SS Bernard Pollard (ribs) has resumed practicing fully.

The Ravens don't have much to play for in Week 17, so Pollard could be eased back in before going full blast in the playoffs. The hard-hitter will give a boost to the Ravens' run defense and send James Ihedigbo back to a reserve role.

Ravens SS Bernard Pollard (ribs) is officially doubtful for Week 16.

Pollard hasn't practiced all week after aggravating a rib injury against the Redskins that was initially suffered against the Eagles in the second game of the season. He's expected to be sidelined for a second consecutive week.

Ravens declared SS Bernard Pollard (ribs) inactive for Sunday's Week 15 game against the Broncos.

The Ravens' defense is getting Terrell Suggs (biceps) back, but they are really banged up. Ray Lewis (triceps) isn't ready and fellow inside linebackers Jameel McClain (neck) and Dannell Ellerbe (ankle) are both out as well. So is G Marshal Yanda (ankle). Look for the Broncos to exploit replacement ILB Josh Bynes, who is making his first start. The rest of their inactives: TE Ed Dickson, OL Ramon Harewood and WR Deonte Thompson.

Ravens SS Bernard Pollard (ribs) has not practiced all week and is officially questionable for Week 15.

It's looking very likely that Pollard will miss Sunday's game against the Broncos. If Pollard doesn’t play, James Ihedigbo will start at strong safety. Ihedigbo has seen limited actions for the Ravens in 2012 and has 14 total tackles and a sack on the season.

SS Bernard Pollard appeared to have no issues with his bruised ribs during the Ravens' Week 3 win over the Patriots.

Pollard compiled six tackles, one for a loss, and a pass deflection. He's a safe play for IDP owners going forward.
