Bears RCB Tim Jennings revealed Sunday that his right shoulder is dislocated.

Jennings suffered the injury in Week 13 and was replaced Sunday by Kelvin Hayden. The Bears have "optimism" that Jennings will return by the end of the regular season, and it sounds like he's targeting Week 15 against the Packers. "I don't have my range of motion all the way back," Jennings conceded. "(Playing) will depend on how this week goes with the range of motion and the soreness."

Bears declared CB Tim Jennings, MLB Brian Urlacher, WR Earl Bennett, QB Josh McCown, WR Dane Sanzenbacher, OL Chris Spencer, and DT Stephen Paea inactive for Week 14 at Minnesota.

Jennings (shoulder) was NFC defensive player of the month for September, enjoying a Pro Bowl caliber seasons. SLB Nick Roach will move to the middle with Urlacher out. Alshon Jeffery is starting in place of Bennett.

There's still no timetable for his return, though the Bears do expect Jennings to play before the end of the season. Kelvin Hayden will replace Jennings at cornerback, and D.J. Moore is expected to handle the nickel duties.

According to ESPN Chicago, there is optimism that CB Tim Jennings (shoulder) can return before the end of the season.

Coach Lovie Smith didn't provide a timetable for Jennings, but it certainly has the look of a multi-week injury. His arm is in a sling this week. Veteran Kelvin Hayden is expected to move into the starting lineup with D.J. Moore activated to handle nickel duties. Jennings has been Pro Football Focus' No. 7 cornerback through 12 games.

Bears CB Tim Jennings (shoulder) "needed help getting dressed" after Sunday's overtime loss.

That's not indicative of a serious injury in and of itself, but certainly isn't a good anecdotal sign for Jennings' Week 14 prospects. Coach Lovie Smith should update his status at Monday's presser. With 12 games in the books, Jennings' eight interceptions are three more than anyone else has in the NFL.

Bears CB Tim Jennings sustained a shoulder injury during overtime of the Week 13 loss to the Seahawks.

Jennings, who leads the league with eight interceptions, went down when trying to tackle Seahawks FB Michael Robinson. Per ESPN Chicago, the injury "isn't believed to be serious." If Jennings misses time, Kelvin Hayden figures to step in opposite Charles Tillman and Zack Bowman would serve as the nickel corner.

It was well earned for a cornerback playing at a high level ever since he left Indy for Chicago. Jennings recorded a league-leading four interceptions to go with six pass breakups, including two that led to interceptions for teammates. According to Pro Football Focus, opposing QBs have a 15.9 passer rating on 33 throws in Jennings' direction this season.

Jennings has been a solid two-year starter in Lovie Smith's zone defense. As the incumbent, he has the edge on newcomer and ex-Colt Kelvin Hayden. Though he was briefly benched late last season, Pro Football Focus did not charge Jennings with a single touchdown pass surrendered in 2011.

The Chicago Tribune believes "all signs" point to Bears CB Tim Jennings remaining a starter in 2012.

The Bears signed Kelvin Hayden and Jonathan Wilhite before spending two late-round picks on corners, but none are a threat to Jennings' job. Jennings played over 1,000 snaps in 2011, but was benched in Week 16 before returning to the starting lineup in Week 17. He graded out as Pro Football Focus' 17th best cornerback.

Bears agreed to terms with CB Tim Jennings on a two-year contract.

Jennings has been a 28-game starter the past two seasons after the Bears signed him for a song in 2010. Physically limited but ideally suited to Lovie Smith's defense, Jennings was one of just two starting corners not to allow a touchdown in 2011, according to Pro Football Focus. The Bears can now focus on Mario Williams and wide receivers in free agency.

Specifically, Jennings' agent said "don't be surprised" if he soon re-signs. It was reported in January that Jennings was seeking a "significant raise" from the $1.9 million he earned last season. Although he was benched for the Bears' Christmas day loss to the Packers, Jennings had a solid year in 2011, grading out as the league's 17th best cornerback by Pro Football Focus.
