After a week of questions, Bears NT Dusty Dvoracek did indeed suffer a torn ACL and he will miss the season.

Dvoracek tore the knee in last week's preseason game. It's his fourth straight season-ending injury. At first Dvoracek said reports that he was out for the year were incorrect, but now it's been confirmed.

Bears coach Lovie Smith said Monday that NT Dusty Dvoracek has only been diagnosed with a sprained MCL.

Two reports this morning said Dvoracek had a torn ACL. Smith, however, admitted that further testing needs to be done, indicating more ligament damage could still be discovered. Dvoracek has no timetable for return.

Bears DT Dusty Dvoracek is out for the season after tearing his ACL in Saturday night's preseason game.

This is remarkably the fourth straight season-ending injury for the backup lineman since being a third-round pick in 2006. With the Dvoracek out, Matt Toeaina has a better chance at making the roster. Marcus Harrison and Anthony Adams will compete for the starting nose tackle job.

Bears DT Dusty Dvoracek says he's 100 percent recovered from a torn biceps tendon that ended his season.

The Chicago Tribune reports the Dusty Dvoracek may have trouble making the Bears next season.

An MRI revealed that Bears NT Dusty Dvoracek ruptured his biceps in Week 13. He will be placed on injured reserve, ending his season.

It's Dusty's third straight season ending on IR. He tore his ACL in 2007 and spent his rookie year on IR due to a foot injury. Rookie Marcus Harrison can state his case to be Chicago's long-term linemate for Tommie Harris down the stretch. Dvoracek may be too brittle to be relied on as a full-time player.

Bears coach Lovie Smith described NT Dusty Dvoracek's arm injury as "serious" in his post-game press conference Sunday.

According to the Chicago Sun Times, Dvoracek is "likely" lost for the season. Dvoracek's health this year after two lost seasons to begin his career was a big reason why Chicago's rush defense has gotten back on track. The Bears fell to 24th against the run in 2007, but are ranked sixth in 2008.

Dusty Dvoracek injured his arm on the Bears' first defensive drive Sunday night and has been ruled out for the game.

Dvoracek was taken straight to the locker room without even being examined on the sidelines, so there's a good chance the injury is serious. The 300 lb defensive tackle is key to the Bears' run defense, so his absence should benefit Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor.
