Cardinals signed DE Frostee Rucker to a one-year extension through 2016.

A replacement-level player, Rucker appeared in 15 games last season, making seven starts. He tallied five sacks in 487 snaps, and was a plus against the run. He'll be used in a similar capacity this season. Frostee turns 32 in September.

Cardinals DE Frostee Rucker is expected to miss Week 2 after suffering a calf injury in Monday's win over the Chargers.

Rucker is officially "doubtful" on a short week. Tommy Kelly should fill in, with rookies Kareem Martin and Ed Stinson perhaps seeing an uptick in snaps against the G-Men.

Mike Jurecki of FOX Sports 910 Phoenix expects Frostee Rucker to fill the starting left end spot vacated by Darnell Dockett.

Rucker is a soon-to-be 31-year-old who has made 36 career starts, with all but one of those coming with the Bengals. He has 12 career sacks and four forced fumbles. Rucker is merely an average player. We'd expect third-rounder Kareem Martin and/or fifth-rounder Ed Stinson to eventually overtake him.

Cardinals re-signed DE Frostee Rucker to a two-year, $2.145 million contract.

The deal includes $590,000 guaranteed. Rucker had one sack and 11 tackles for Arizona in limited playing time last season. With Darnell Dockett and Calais Campbell still in town, Rucker should be nothing more than a rotational player again in 2014.

Cardinals signed DE Frostee Rucker, formerly of the Browns, to a one-year contract.

Rucker was released in early February as Cleveland was clearing out players that didn't fit the new 3-4 defense. The soon-to-be 30-year-old started all 16 games last season, notching 48 tackles, four sacks, and a forced fumble. In Arizona, Rucker adds depth behind Calais Campbell and Darnell Dockett.

Browns released DE Frostee Rucker.

The Browns handed Rucker a $5 million signing bonus last March, so they'll absorb a salary cap hit of roughly $1.5 million in order to release him. The move does free up $2.5 million in sheer cash. Although long a potent run defender, Rucker was a predictable bust as Cleveland's right defensive end in 2012. That's a pass rushing position, and he managed just four sacks in 16 starts. Expect interest in Rucker to be rather mild on the free agent market.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer wonders if Browns DE Frostee Rucker is a candidate for release.

Cleveland just signed Rucker to a five-year, $20.5 million deal last offseason, but with the team's switch to a 3-4 defense, he doesn't seem to fit anywhere. Rucker has always been a 4-3 end. He started all 16 games in 2012, registering four sacks. Rucker has $2.5 million in guaranteed money left on his contract.

The Browns plan to use Frostee Rucker as their starting right defensive end on early downs, and kick him to tackle in the nickel.

Juqua Parker is slated to replace Rucker in passing sets, though he could be pushed by Marcus Benard. Rucker, who turns 29 in September, was signed to a five-year, $20.5 million head-scratching deal in March. Pro Football Focus graded Rucker positively as a 2011 run defender, but poor in pass rush.

Browns signed DE Frostee Rucker, formerly of the Bengals, to a five-year deal.

It's reportedly worth "over" $20 million. Rucker is the second defensive end to be lured away from the Bengals since the start of free agency. A 2006 third-round pick, Rucker got his first real shot at starting in 2011, and responded with 44 tackles and four sacks in 447 snaps. More of a run stuffer than anything else, he'll likely be part of a rotation in Cleveland.

Bengals DE Frostee Rucker is reportedly visiting a "mystery team" according to his agent.

According to the Cincinnati Enquirer's Joe Reedy, Rucker is meeting with the Browns, and could have a deal "wrapped up by the end of the day" Wednesday. Rucker was still in talks with the Bengals as of Wednesday morning.

The Bengals are expected to have contract discussions with impending free agent linemen Frostee Rucker and Jonathan Fanene on Monday.

However, both players look set to hit the open market. Rucker appeared in all 16 games last season, making 11 starts. He notched 44 tackles and four sacks. Fanene made just two starts in 16 games, but managed to notch 6.5 sacks despite grading out as one of the league's worst linemen by Pro Football Focus.

Bengals placed DE Frostee Rucker (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season.

A disappointing former third-round pick from USC, Rucker managed just one sack and 17 tackles in nine appearances. The extent of his knee injury is unknown. Rucker is signed through 2011 for $1.25 million, but the Bengals may be ready to move on with youngsters Carlos Dunlap and Michael Johnson ready for bigger roles. Rucker, 27, has three sacks in four years.

Bengals re-signed DE Frostee Rucker to a two-year contract.

Cincinnati presumably isn't guaranteeing Rucker much money, but the move is curious in that he's produced just two sacks in four seasons, and never earned consistent playing time. Either Rucker looks good in practice, or the Bengals are unwilling to admit their mistake in the 2006 third round.
Wed, Mar 31, 2010 02:53:00 PM

The Bengals have extended restricted free agent DE Frostee Rucker an original pick tender.

Rucker, 26, doesn't do anything very well and was originally a third-round pick. The Bengals won't have any trouble retaining him into training camp.
