Panthers agreed to terms with OG Max Jean-Gilles on a one-year contract.

Carolina was desperate for a capable guard after losing Geoff Schwartz and Gary Williams to season-ending injury last week. Jean-Gilles started 26 of 42 games played with the Eagles over the past five seasons.

Bengals released OG Max Jean-Gilles.

Jean-Gilles' was never expected to compete for a starting role when he was signed in early August. The 27-year-old guard started 25 games for the Eagles over the past three seasons, and should be able to find the reserve role he wasn't able to nail-down in Cincinnati somewhere else.

Bengals agreed to terms with OG Max Jean-Gilles on a one-year, $1.15 million contract.

Jean-Gilles lost 30 pounds over the offseason. He's not coming in overweight as Deuce Lutui did. Offensive line coach Paul Alexander is a fan of LG Nate Livings, so Jean-Gilles is likely headed for a reserve role in Cincinnati.

The Bengals worked out free agent OG Max Jean-Gilles on Tuesday.

The Bengals will run a power-based rushing attack with West Coast principles under Jay Gruden, and "MJG" played in a similar system in Philadelphia. He appears to be a fall-back option after the Deuce Lutui agreement fell through.

Free agent OG Max Jean-Gilles has reportedly lost 30 pounds and currently weighs in the neighborhood of 315-320.

Jean-Gilles may be on the roster bubble in camp, and the weight loss should help his chances of staying involved on Howard Mudd's line. The Eagles' new OL coach, Mudd prefers his linemen leaner and more athletic. "MJG" made ten starts at right guard last season, but remained a liability in pass protection.

Eagles declared RG Max Jean-Gilles, MLB Stewart Bradley, QB Mike Kafka, CB Brandon Hughes, S Jamar Adams, DT Jeremy Clark, OT Austin Howard, and DE Bobby McCray inactive for Sunday's Wild Card round game against the Packers.

Jean-Gilles' replacement, Nick Cole, has plenty of experience, but he was abused in the playoffs last year against the Cowboys. Rookie tackling machine Jamar Chaney is once again filling in for Bradley in the middle.

Eagles starting RG Max Jean-Gilles (ankle) missed the entire week of practice.

Coach Andy Reid said that Jean-Gilles could still start, but it looks like Nick Cole is going to get the nod. Cole was a big part of last year's playoff debacle against the Cowboys when he filled in at center for Jamaal Jackson.

Eagles RG Max Jean-Gilles' ankle injury is on his left side -- not his surgically repaired right one.

Coach Andy Reid said Jean-Gilles was moving around OK after the game. He'll be in a race to get that ankle stable enough to play against the Packers Sunday. If Jean-Gilles can't go, Nick Cole would fill in and be a downgrade.

Eagles RG Max Jean-Gilles left Sunday's game with a left ankle injury and is doubtful to return.

Jean-Gilles was one of just a handful of Eagles regulars playing today, so they'll be plenty bitter that he got hurt. He limped to the locker room under his own power. Mike McGlynn came on to play center and Nick Cole kicked out to guard.

Eagles RG Max Jean-Gilles passed all his post-concussion tests and has been cleared to play in Monday night's Week 10 game against Washington.

Jean-Gilles said he's "pretty confident that I'm playing" Monday, but if he can't go Nick Cole would slide into the starting lineup.

Eagles RG Max Jean-Gilles (concussion) is listed as questionable for Monday's Week 10 game against Washington.

Nick Cole will fill in if Jean-Gilles can't go. If Gilles does play, upgrade LeSean McCoy slightly.

Eagles RG Max Jean-Gilles left Sunday's game in the first quarter with a concussion.

No word yet on Jean-Gilles' return, but we doubt he'll be back. Seven different Eagles have now dealt with concussions since training camp. Nick Cole has come on.

Max Jean-Gilles has been named the Eagles starting right guard.

Nick Cole has been relegated to bench duty as a result. Jean-Gilles' tenure in Philadelphia has been marred by injuries, though the power blocker is seemingly healthy and in shape.

Jean-Gilles was released Saturday to facilitate the trade of Stacy Andrews. His re-signing puts the team's roster at 53.
