Free agent WR David Anderson has been invited to Seahawks minicamp on a tryout basis.
Anderson is joining Antonio Bryant as a veteran wideout getting a look in Seattle's final workouts before camp. Anderson appeared in six games between the Texans and Redskins last season, making seven catches. He'd be little more than a camp body in Seattle. Tue, Jun 12, 2012 12:40:00 PM

Redskins declared WR David Anderson inactive for Week 15 against the Giants.

Anderson is a healthy scratch as newly signed run-blocking tight end Richard Quinn is up. Look for the 'Skins to attempt a run-heavy approach with Roy Helu. The rest of their inactives: RB Ryan Torain, FB Mike Sellers, T Jammal Brown, DL Kentwan Balmer and LB Markus White.

Redskins signed WR David Anderson.

The turf toe injury to rookie Niles Paul opened up a receiver slot in Washington, and Anderson's prior experience with OC Kyle Shanahan helped seal the deal. He will not have any fantasy value as a Redskin.

Texans released WR David Anderson.

Anderson, 28, caught one pass for nine yards in two appearances to open the season, being deactivated on game day for the other three. The Texans believe newly acquired Derrick Mason can help them more as a No. 3/slot receiver.

Texans re-signed WR David Anderson.

It's a sign that Kevin Walter (shoulder) won't play this week. Anderson played five years in Houston, so he knows Gary Kubiak's offense. Jacoby Jones is certain to start, with Anderson and Bryant Johnson competing for the No. 3 role.

The Texans are scheduled to visit with free agent David Anderson this week.

Anderson spent the first five years of his career with the Texans before being released at final cuts by the Broncos just over a week ago. He could re-sign with Houston shortly if Kevin Walter (shoulder) is deemed unfit for Week 2.

Broncos released WR David Anderson.

A five-year veteran, Anderson hauled in 11 passes for 117 yards as a member of the Texans last season. Also waived or released by the Broncos today were QB Adam Weber, G Jeff Byers, G Stanley Daniels, WR Britt Davis, WR D'Andre Goodwin, WR Greg Orton, WR Eron Riley, OT Adam Grant, TE Dan Gronkowski, K Steven Hauschka, RB Jeremiah Johnson, RB Austin Sylvester and TE Dante Rosario.

Broncos signed WR David Anderson, formerly of the Texans.

Anderson can play special teams and was on GM Brian Xanders' radar last offseason when the Broncos approached him about a restricted free agent offer sheet. The 28-year-old slot receiver type is unlikely to see many snaps on offense.

The Texans have placed WR David Anderson on the trading block.

We're not sure what the Texans think they can possibly get for Anderson. He's 27 and caught 11 balls in 12 games as a deep reserve last season.

Texans placed WR David Anderson (left shoulder) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Anderson, 27, finishes his fifth year in the league with just 11 catches. The Texans liked Anderson enough to sign him to an affordable extension two offseasons ago. He's on the hook for a $1.44 million base salary in 2011.

Texans WR David Anderson sustained a shoulder injury in Monday night's game.

There's no word on the severity. Anderson has just 11 receptions this year as the Texans' fourth receiver.
Tue, Dec 14, 2010 06:33:00 PM

Texans WR David Anderson is a candidate for increased snaps this week with Andre Johnson (ankle) and Jacoby Jones (calf) both classified as game-time decisions.

Don't go picking him up just yet. Signs are pointing toward Johnson playing this week, and coach Gary Kubiak is hopeful that Jones will at least return to a limited practice on Friday. If Jones misses Sunday's game, Anderson wouldn't be a fantasy option as the No. 3 receiver.
Thu, Oct 7, 2010 10:50:00 PM

Texans WR David Anderson left Sunday's game with a head injury.

Patriots safety James Sanders drew a penalty for hitting a defenseless receiver when Anderson went all out for a potential touchdown. Anderson walked off under his own power, though it's not known if he sustained a concussion.

David Anderson stepped in for Jacoby Jones (calf) and caught five passes for 52 yards in Monday night's loss to the Titans.

Anderson was the No. 3 receiver ahead of Andre' Davis. He caught two balls on the Texans' final drive and played mostly out of the slot. Anderson will go back to his No. 4 role when Jones returns, which should be this week.

Texans matched the Broncos' three-year, $4.5 million offer sheet to WR David Anderson, meaning he'll stay in Houston.

If the Broncos really wanted him, they would've had to offer considerably more. Anderson will make minimum salaries over the next three seasons and got a meager $1 million signing bonus. Anderson, who caught 19 balls last year, will return as Houston's fourth receiver, behind Andre Johnson, Kevin Walter, and Andre' Davis. He also contributes on special teams.
