The Cowboys have decided against tendering ILB Leon Williams, making him an unrestricted free agent.

Williams appeared in 11 games last season, making six special teams tackles but rarely playing on defense. The 27-year-old could be re-signed at a lesser salary than he would've received from a low restricted free agent tender.

Cowboys placed LB Leon Williams (hamstring) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Williams sustained the injury last week after playing 11 games primarily as a special teamer. He totaled six tackles on defense and nine on special teams.

Cowboys signed LB Leon Williams to a reserve/future contract.

A Browns' fourth-round pick in 2006, Williams has played in spot duty at inside linebacker but he's mostly been a special teamer.

The Browns have resumed their rotation of Leon Williams and Andra Davis at inside linebacker so that Davis can focus more on special teams

It's odd because Davis calls the plays, but makes sense because Williams is explosive inside. Davis had three tackles in Week 2 to Williams' five.

Browns LB Leon Williams reportedly needs to improve by training camp, or he could be stuck playing mostly special teams.

A step back after starting at inside linebacker for much of last season. Rookie Beau Bell and a possibly resurgent Andra Davis are threats for playing time.

Leon Williams continues to start at middle linebacker for Cleveland.

The former Miami Hurricane has proven too good to keep off the field with Andra Davis battling ineffectiveness and an ankle injury. Williams has 30 tackles in the last five weeks and is a nice target in deeper IDP leagues.

Browns ILB Leon Williams underwent arthroscopic knee surgery earlier this offseason and will be limited in upcoming workouts.

Williams is the favorite over Chaun Thompson to be Cleveland's third inside linebacker behind starters D'Qwell Jackson and Andra Davis this season.

Scout.com believes Leon Williams could push Willie McGinest to start at outside linebacker for Cleveland in 2007.

It's more likely that he'll be viewed as McGinest's successor. Williams, a fourth-rounder out of Miami (FL) in 2006, finished his first season with 42 tackles, 31 of them coming in late-season spot starts at ILB.

With D'Qwell Jackson (toe) out for the season, Browns rookie Leon Williams will start at inside linebacker going forward.

We've not heard much from former Miami Hurricane this season, as he's been excelling almost strictly on special teams. Williams could be a good source of tackles and may hold up better at the point of attack because he is considerably bigger than the man he is set to spell.

Browns signed former Miami Hurricane LB Leon Williams to a four-year contract.

Williams was never a full-time starter at The "U" but is athletic with good size. He'll be asked to play special teams in his first year.
