Broncos signed NT Domata Peko, formerly of the Bengals, to a two-year, $7.5 million contract.
The Broncos also inked ex-Colts DT Zach Kerr to a two-year contract. A Bengal his entire 11-year career, Peko's snaps have gradually declined, along with his effectiveness. Peko is a gigantic body in the middle, but he's a replacement-level talent at this point. He will be a rotational run stuffer in Denver. Mar 11 - 4:25 PM

The St. Paul Pioneer Press' Chris Tomasson reports the Vikings have reached out to free agent DT Domata Peko.

According to Tomasson, the Bengals, Eagles, and 49ers are also in the mix. Peko played for Vikings coach Mike Zimmer in Cincinnati and is a logical fit as a depth piece in Minnesota, though his game has fallen off in recent years. Peko turns 33 this year and won't cost much on a short-term deal.

The Cincinnati Enquirer's Paul Dehner admits Bengals DT Domata Peko is a candidate for release.

Peko, 30, carries a $3.7 million cap hit for 2015, and the Bengals can recoup all of that without a dead-money charge by releasing him. We know the Bengals scouts read Rotoworld as we saw on Hard Knocks a couple years back. Peko has been one of the least-effective defensive tackles in the league the past few seasons, per PFF. He was a major part of the Bengals' troublesome run defense.

Domata Peko (elbow) is active for Sunday's Week 14 game against the Steelers.

Peko went down in Week 13 but was able to make a quick recovery. There are no surprises in the Bengals inactives: LB Vontaze Burfict (knee), LB Chris Carter, DE Margus Hunt, OT Tanner Hawkinson, CB Chris Lewis-Harris, WR Dane Sanzenbacher and WR James Wright.

Bengals DT Domata Peko is done for the day in Week 13 with an elbow injury.

Although Peko is an inconsistent performer, he is a critical cog in Cincinnati's run defense. He was ruled out quickly, which isn't a good sign.

Bengals signed NT Domata Peko to a two-year, $9 million extension through 2016.

Peko was entering the final year of his contract and scheduled to earn a $4.125 million base salary. He's now signed through his age-32 season, while three-technique stud Geno Atkins is under contract through 2018. Peko has missed just five games in eight seasons and hasn't missed a start in four years. He's a solid bet for 50-plus tackles and a couple sacks per season.

Bengals DT Domata Peko triggered an escalator in his contract, raising his 2013 salary from $3.7 million to $3.9 million.

Peko's 2014 base salary also gets an uptick, going from $3.925 million to $3.965 million. The 28-year-old recorded 53 tackles and two sacks in 2012, but his main job is to just eat up blockers to free up his teammates -- like the man lining up next to him, Geno Atkins. Peko has two years left on his current deal.

Bengals DT Domata Peko and LT Andrew Whitworth are organizing a two-week minicamp starting next Monday.

With Carson Palmer's future up in the air, Peko and Whitworth are the "obvious leaders" on the Bengals. Peko was voted a defensive captain last year along with Dhani Jones, who is without a contract this offseason. Whitworth, the club's player rep the past few seasons, has emerged as one of the best blindside tackles in the NFL.

Benagls NT Domata Peko (knee) particpated in OTAs and declared himself 100 percent.

Peko also said he was 100 percent for the Wild Card round loss to the Jets, but clearly wasn't. When healthy, Peko is a run-stuffing force on the interior of the Bengals' line.

Bengals NT Domata Peko (knee surgery) says he feels 100 percent despite sitting out the last five games of the regular season.

"It's feeling so great right now, like nothing ever happened," Peko said. The Bengals need Peko at 100 percent, especially after the Jets ripped off 4.5 yards per carry in Week 17. Downgrade Thomas Jones a little for this week.

Bengals NT Domata Peko (knee), DE Robert Geathers (rest), and S Chris Crocker (ankle) are fully expected to return for the Jets rematch this week.

They'll be welcomed back with open arms. The Jets dominated the line of scrimmage Sunday night, rushing for 257 yards against what had been the league's No. 2 run defense. Peko, in particular, will be a significant upgrade inside.

Bengals NT Domata Peko (knee surgery) says he is finally ready to resume practicing.

Bengals DT Domata Peko (knee) and FS Chris Crocker (ankle) are both listed as doubtful for Week 16 against Kansas City.

Cincinnati's run defense has been ineffective with Peko out of the lineup; Darren Sproles and LaDainian Tomlinson combined for 150 yards against the unit last week. His absence is an upgrade for Jamaal Charles' matchup.

Bengals NT Domata Peko (knee) has a chance to return for this week's game against the Chiefs.
