Bills DT Kyle Williams (meniscus surgery) is not sure when he will be able to practice.

Williams underwent meniscus surgery in November. It would be something of a surprise if he is not ready for training camp, but the Bills will almost certainly take it slow with their veteran tackle. Williams said his goal is to be ready for Week 1.
Jun 6 - 10:15 AM

Bills DT Kyle Williams has agreed to a $1.75 million pay cut.

His base salary for 2016 was trimmed from $6 million to $4.25 million, though he'll make some of the money back with a $500,000 roster bonus. The Bills have already used the savings to sign TE Jim Dray and S Robert Blanton. Williams is slated to miss most of the Bills' offseason program after undergoing meniscus surgery in November.

Bills GM Doug Whaley expects DT Kyle Williams (meniscus surgery) to be ready for training camp.

Whaley did hint that Williams could miss the entire offseason program after going under the knife in late November. Going on 33, Williams was limited to six appearances in 2015, but missed just one game over the previous three seasons. He's a key cog along the Bills' defensive line, and will be even more so once Mario Williams is released.

Bills DT Kyle Williams (knee) is expected back with the team in 2016.

Buffalo's run defense fell off a cliff when Williams was lost to meniscus surgery in late November. Still, the Bills need to retain their other D-Line talent with Mario Williams on his way out.

Bills placed DT Kyle Williams on season-ending injured reserve with a knee injury.

This move is procedural after Williams underwent meniscus surgery last week. With Williams sidelined, the Bills' once-stout run defense has fallen off a cliff. DT T.J. Barnes, DE LaVar Edwards and LB Kevin Reddick were all signed to the active roster Tuesday.

Bills coach Rex Ryan said DT Kyle Williams (knee) is "50/50" to return this season.

Williams has been sidelined since suffering a knee injury "more significant than just a little sprain" Week 6. Williams was ruled out for this week very early, and it sounds like he is not expected back soon if at all. The Bills have given up 4.68 yards per carry to running backs over the last four games with Williams out. They gave up 3.8 yards per carry to backs the first five weeks of the season.

The Bills will use Kyle Williams at defensive end in Rex Ryan's 3-4.

Soon-to-be 32-year-old Williams has blossomed into one of the NFL's top defensive tackles with 20.5 sacks over the past three seasons.
