Bills coach Rex Ryan said DT Kyle Williams (knee) is "50/50" to return this season.

Williams has been sidelined since suffering a knee injury "more significant than just a little sprain" Week 6. Williams was ruled out for this week very early, and it sounds like he is not expected back soon if at all. The Bills have given up 4.68 yards per carry to running backs over the last four games with Williams out. They gave up 3.8 yards per carry to backs the first five weeks of the season.

Bills DT Kyle Williams (PCL) is not expected to play this week against the Patriots.

Williams has an extra day to get ready with the Bills playing on Monday night, but coach Rex Ryan said, "I don't think he's going to be ready to go this week." Williams has been sidelined since spraining his PCL Week 6.

Bills DT Kyle Williams (PCL) will miss "at least" the next two games.

Williams says his injury is "more significant than just a little sprain," but that it doesn't require surgery. Williams went down in Week 6. Corbin Bryant is filling in during Williams' absence.
Nov 2 - 1:16 PM

Bills DT Kyle Williams exited Week 6 against the Bengals with a sprained PCL and is expected to miss 3-4 weeks.

Williams will undergo further testing to make sure that's the extent of the damage after Williams went down in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss to the Bengals. Williams is arguably the Bills' best defensive lineman.
Oct 18 - 4:33 PM

The Bills will use Kyle Williams at defensive end in Rex Ryan's 3-4.

He'll be a "five technique," the same position Williams played under Mike Pettine in 2013. Williams recorded 68 tackles and a career-high 10.5 sacks that season, adding one forced fumble. Marcell Dareus will play nose tackle under Rex.
May 15 - 3:37 PM

Bills signed DT Kyle Williams to a one-year, $10.5 million contract extension through 2017.

Williams was scheduled to count $6.4 million against the cap this season. This is likely a move to help knock that number down after the Bills' recent spending spree. Soon-to-be 32-year-old Williams has blossomed into one of the NFL's top defensive tackles with 20.5 sacks over the past three seasons.
Mar 11 - 10:50 AM

Kyle Williams (knee) is inactive for Week 5 against the Lions.

The Bills will be without both Williams and Nigel Bradham this week. It's a major downgrade to their top-three run defense. The rest of Buffalo's inactives are RB Bryce Brown, WR Marcus Easley, CB Ross Cockrell, RT Cyrus Kouandjio, and LG Chris Williams.

Kyle Williams (knee) is doubtful for Week 5 against the Lions.

It's an upgrade for Reggie Bush, who is a candidate for 20-plus touches with Joique Bell and Theo Riddick sidelined. A combination of Corbin Bryant and Stefan Charles will replace Williams.

Updating a previous item, Bills NT Kyle Williams (Achilles') has received medical clearance for training camp.

Williams underwent offseason surgery to repair a bone spur on his heel and missed the entire spring. He's nearing 100 percent now. "As of now he’s full go," said GM Doug Whaley. "I think they’re going to limit him in practice ... and not put too much on him right off the bat, but he is not going to be on PUP."

DT Kyle Williams (Achilles') is not practicing as Bills camp opens.

Williams had February surgery to repair bone spurs in his right heel. Note that he had a similar procedure on his left heel in 2011. "It's getting better," said Williams, a two-time Pro Bowler. "It's just missing just a little bit. But it's close and I'm getting better."

Bills DT Kyle Williams (Achilles') remains on track to be 100 percent for training camp.

Bills DT Kyle Williams (Achilles') said he will be ready for training camp.

Williams needed a cleanup on his right Achilles' tendon after playing in all 16 games last season. It's not nearly as severe as the ruptured left Achilles' tendon that kept him out of 11 games in 2011. Williams, still very effective at age 29, projects as the anchor of new DC Mike Pettine's interior.
