Chiefs placed OT Ryan O'Callaghan on injured reserve, ending his season.

Chiefs RT Ryan O'Callaghan (groin) practiced fully Wednesday for the first time since injuring his groin on August 24.

It's not clear if he'll return this weekend or not, or whether he'd immediately regain his starting job. Barry Richardson has done a solid job filling in for O'Callaghan on the right side.

Chiefs RT Ryan O'Callaghan has been declared "out" for the Week 2 game in Cleveland.

Backup LT Barry Richardson is expected to move to the right side to replace O'Callaghan as the starter on Sept. 19. Neither lineman is considered an impact player.

Chiefs declared WR Jeremy Horne. CB Jackie Bates, RB Mike Cox, LB Cameron Sheffield, LB Justin Cole, DE Alex Magee, RT Ryan O'Callaghan, and NT Anthony Toribio inactive for Monday's game against the Chargers.

O'Callaghan was listed as questionable with a groin pull. Barry Richardson will start at RT in his place.

Chiefs RT Ryan O'Callaghan will keep his starting job in 2010 after the team came out of the draft without an upgrade.

The Chiefs somewhat surprisingly passed on Russell Okung, so Branden Albert will be O'Callaghan's bookend on the left. Though O'Callaghan wasn't a difference maker individually, the Chiefs' line played better when he cracked the lineup in Week 4 last year. At 6'7/330, he should be able to run block.

Chiefs re-signed restricted free agent RT Ryan O'Callaghan to a one-year, $1.759 million contract.

The entire offensive line played better late in the season when O'Callaghan was inserted at right tackle. He may only be a replacement-level talent, but that's still an improvement on Damion McIntosh, Barry Richardson, and Ike Ndukwe.

The Chiefs have assigned a second-round tender to restricted free agent RT Ryan O'Callaghan.

O'Callaghan solidified K.C.'s right tackle position last year after being claimed off waivers from New England, and the relatively pricey tender ($1.759 million) indicates that the Chiefs were satisfied with his play. There's been talk of moving LT Branden Albert to the right side, but O'Callaghan looks more likely to stay there now. Albert may kick to guard if Kansas City uses the No. 5 overall pick on Oklahoma State's Russell Okung.

Chiefs RT Ryan O'Callaghan has been listed as questionable for Week 15.

O'Callaghan has been a bright spot for the Chiefs and has really impressed coach Todd Haley after the team claimed him from the Patriots in September. If he were to miss Sunday's game against the Browns, Ike Ndukwe would likely fill in.

Chiefs coach Todd Haley sounds like he may have finally found a right tackle he likes in Patriots castoff Ryan O'Callaghan.

"Our right tackle ... was a bright spot," Haley said. "He showed some signs that he might want to stick around." The team has listed four different starters at right tackle since training camp, and all have been pushed around.

The Chiefs have promoted Ryan O'Callaghan into the starting lineup at right tackle.

The musical chairs continue. Week 3 starter Ike Ndukwe is now the backup RT. The Chiefs have served up eight sacks so far -- seventh most in the NFL.

Chiefs claimed OT Ryan O'Callaghan off waivers from the Patriots.

O'Callaghan was good enough to start seven games for the Pats between '06 and '07, but missed all of 2008 with a shoulder injury. He'll immediately push Damion McIntosh, Barry Richardson, and Ike Ndukwe at right tackle in K.C.

Patriots waived OT Ryan O'Callaghan and S/WR Ray Ventrone.

O'Callaghan didn't have a bad camp, but second-round pick Sebastian Vollmer passed him to be New England's No. 3 offensive tackle. O'Callaghan could probably start for the Chiefs right away. Ventrone was a special teamer.

Patriots placed T Ryan O'Callaghan (shoulder) on injured reserve, ending his season.

One of the team's top backups along the offensive line, O'Callaghan's loss hurts New England's depth at one of their most vulnerable spots.
Tue, Aug 26, 2008 05:10:00 PM

Patriots starting RT Ryan O'Callaghan (neck) wasn't at practice Wednesday.

He's listed as questionable. Rodney Harrison remains out for the Patriots, but the New England offense is healthy. Free safety Eugene Wilson and nickel back Chad Scott remain questionable but Scott should play.
