Giants re-signed LG Kevin Boothe to a one-year contract.
Along with LT Will Beatty, Boothe is the second in-house lineman the Giants have re-signed this offseason. The G-Men could return their entire offensive line for 2013 depending on what they do with RT David Diehl. Boothe underwhelmed as a pass blocker last season, but was sturdy in the run game and wasn't penalized. Boothe will turn 30 in July. Mar 25 - 10:56 AM

The Giants still want to re-sign free agent LG Kevin Boothe.

The cap-strapped Giants will have to get creative to fit Boothe. They've already approached OT David Diehl about a restructure, but no deal has been struck. Boothe started 16 games last year, excelling as a run blocker.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports free agent LG Kevin Boothe has been talking with the Giants, Panthers, Jets, and Cardinals.

The Giants' reportedly consider Boothe a priority, but they haven't made any moves to try and lock him up. At 6-foot-5 and 320 pounds, he can also play tackle, which makes sense for the Panthers. Carolina could use an upgrade on RT Byron Bell. The Cardinals need help all over the line, and the Jets could use another guard after signing Willie Colon on Friday.

One of the Giants' biggest priorities in free agency is reportedly to re-sign free agent LG Kevin Boothe.

Retaining restricted free agent Victor Cruz is a must. But bringing back Boothe, a 16-game starter who graded out above-average as a run blocker last year is crucial too. The Giants don't have a logical in-house replacement.

USA Today reports the Bears are "lurking" with free agent OG Kevin Boothe.

Chicago has been mentioned as a possible destination for top free agent OG Andy Levitre, but his price tag is rising as teams battle over he and Louis Vasquez. It's more likely the Bears settle for one of the second-tier guards like Boothe, Brandon Moore, or Donald Thomas. They don't have a ton of cap room at the moment.

Free agent LG Kevin Boothe would like to re-sign with the Giants, but a deal "does not appear imminent."

"We’re having positive conversations," said Boothe's agent. "One day at a time." After re-signing LT Will Beatty a couple weeks ago, the Giants turned their attention to Boothe. It's looking like he'll reach the open market.
Mar 7 - 1:27 PM

The New York Post reports that the Giants still aren't close to a deal with free agent LG Kevin Boothe.

Boothe was a full-time starter and graded out as an above-average run blocker last season. The Giants don't have any proven depth behind him, but it's looking like he won't be re-signed before the start of free agency. Selvish Capers and fourth-round pick Brandon Mosley are in-house candidates to replace Boothe. The Giants could also move David Diehl to guard in 2013.
Mar 2 - 7:24 PM

Sources tell the New York Daily News the Giants would like to re-sign free agent LG Kevin Boothe.

Boothe was a 16-game starter last season after starting nine games in 2011. He's also capable of playing center or tackle in a pinch. Five months shy of his 30th birthday, Boothe has spent the past six years with the G-Men. He should be back in 2013.
Feb 12 - 2:14 PM

Giants agreed to terms with G/C Kevin Boothe on a two-year contract.

Boothe can play at least four positions on the line, although he didn't perform well in five spot starts at left guard last season when injuries ravaged the Giants' line. This signing is more about familiarity and versatility than anything. The G-Men will hope that Boothe isn't forced back onto the first team.

Giants extended a sixth-round restricted free agent tender to OL Kevin Boothe.

Original speculation had Boothe drawing a second-round tender, but that never seemed sensible. The reserve lineman is headed toward unrestricted free agency as a five-year veteran.

Giants activated OL Kevin Boothe (pectoral) from the PUP list.

A swing man the past few years, Boothe will be needed for depth with the Giants suffering multiple injuries up front in Week 9.

Giants OL Kevin Boothe (torn pectoral, PUP) returned to practice for the Giants Thursday.

Boothe tore a pectoral muscle in the weight room during OTAs. The Giants have three weeks to activate the backup lineman, place him on injured reserve or release him.

Giants placed OL Kevin Boothe (torn pectoral) on the reserve/PUP list.

The move was expected. Boothe has been the Giants' swingman the past few years, but he tore his pectoral muscle in spring workouts. Guy Whimper and rookie Mitch Petrus are candidates to fill in.

Giants OL Kevin Boothe (torn pectorals) is expected to begin the 2010 season on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

This is assuming Boothe avoids I.R. An athletic reserve, Boothe's likely loss for the first seven weeks will give Guy Whimper a better shot at retaining a roster spot. Rookie Mitch Petrus should be locked into the final 53.

Giants backup G/T Kevin Boothe tore a pectoral muscle earlier this week and is expected to miss about four months.

If the four month recovery time proves to be accurate, Boothe will be back right around Week 1. Still, it's a blow to the depth of the Giants' reliable offensive line. Boothe is one of the better versatile backups in the league.
