Jaguars signed DE Jeremy Mincey to a four-year, $27.2 million contract.

Mincey was reportedly drawing heavy interest from the Bears, but has opted to stay with the club that gave him his first start in 2010. Since joining the Jaguars' starting lineup in Week 10 two seasons ago, the 2006 sixth-round pick has notched 12 sacks in 24 games. Mincey's re-signing could be a sign the Jaguars aren't planning to seriously pursue free agent Mario Williams.

The Bears are "trying to sign" free agent DE Jeremy Mincey, according to the Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Sun-Times

The Browns also reported to be interested. Early signs point to Mario Williams signing in Buffalo, leaving the Bears with a fallback option at defensive end. While Mincey showed a high motor last season, five of his eight sacks came in two games against the Colts' injury-depleted O-Line.

WGR 550 Buffalo lists DE Jeremy Mincey as a potential free agent target for the Bills this offseason.

The Jaguars have yet to make progress in negotiations with Mincey and could opt to let the market determine his value. A sixth-round pick in 2006, Mincey flourished in defensive coordinator Mel Tucker's scheme this past season, setting career highs in tackles (57), sacks (8), and forced fumbles.

The Jaguars have begun contract negotiations with free agent DE Jeremy Mincey.

They're also meeting with the reps for free agent DBs Dwight Lowery and Rashean Mathis later in the Combine week. Mincey was the Jaguars' best defensive lineman in 2011, but they should be careful to not overpay. The former sixth-round pick out of Florida barely got on the field in his first five NFL seasons.

Mincey flourished in defensive coordinator Mel Tucker's scheme, amassing career highs in starts (16), tackles (57), sacks (8), and forced fumbles (4). A 28-year-old and journeyman before 2011, Mincey had bounced around the league for five seasons before breaking out in the last year of his contract. The Jaguars want Mincey back, but that sends up a bit of a red flag.

Jaguars GM Gene Smith's top priority this offseason is re-signing key free agents such as DE Jeremy Mincey.

Mincey was a revelation as the team's top defensive lineman in his fifth season, grading out as a top-12 defensive end in Pro Football Focus' ratings. CB Rashean Mathis, S Dwight Lowery, and DE Matt Roth are also expected to be high on Smith's list of priorities.

Jaguars DE Jeremy Mincey could stick as a starter even when Aaron Kampman (knee) returns, according to the Times Union.

Mincey has turned a corner this season and broke out with a sack, four hurries and five tackles in last week's loss to the Bengals. The most likely scenario going forward is a rotation at defensive end with Kampman, Mincey, Matt Roth and Austen Lane.

Jaguars LE Jeremy Mincey played 56 snaps in Week 11, far more than any other defensive end in the team's rotation.

He registered a pair of sacks in the win over the Browns. "I think we liked having that relentless motor on the field, and he's productive," coach Jack Del Rio said. Mincey has always had pass-rush skills, but injuries have hampered him. He could be an interesting IDP sleeper down the stretch.

Mincey had two sacks and two quarterback hits in Sunday's win over the Browns despite playing with a broken hand. Harvey came in as a rotational player and added a sack for a defense that is vastly improved at getting to the quarterback this season.

Jaguars LE Jeremy Mincey (fractured hand) is back practicing and hopes to play in Week 10.

Mincey fractured his hand late last month just hours after he was named a starter. His cast has been removed and he's now practicing with the hand heavily wrapped. It's not clear if he'll be thrust into the starting lineup right away when he's ready to play.

The journeyman described his injury as "Jeremy Mincey luck." Mincey, who's bounced around since being a sixth-round pick of the Patriots in 2006, is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Kansas City. On the season, the 26-year-old has just four tackles, one sack, and a pass breakup.

He'd already been taking a lot of Harvey's snaps, and now it appears he's officially taken his job. Mincey has given the Jags a spark as a pass rusher, while Harvey has been a big disappointment as a former No. 8 overall pick.

Mincey is a low-end prospect that has played in just nine games since 2006 because of various injuries. Even though they signed Aaron Kampman, the Jags are still very thin at pass rusher. Mincey has a shot to make the team.
