The Cowboys have agreed to give DE Jeremy Mincey a raise.
It's believed to be a $500,000-or-so raise after Mincey fell 11 snaps shy of a $500,000 playing-time bonus last year. The Cowboys have also waived Mincey's fines for not reporting to training camp on time. Mincey will likely open the season as Dallas' starting defensive end opposite Demarcus Lawrence before settling into a rotational role when Greg Hardy's suspension ends. Aug 2 - 9:03 PM

Cowboys DE Jeremy Mincey ended his holdout and reported to training camp on Sunday morning.

The Dallas Morning News said the holdout isn't officially over yet, though Mincey's appearance at camp would suggest otherwise. Mincey tried to send the Cowboys a message by skipping the first few days of camp but predictably gave in when faced with $30,000 a day fines. Mincey will earn $1.5 million this season before hitting free agency in 2016.

Cowboys DE Jeremy Mincey skipped the team's flight to training camp as he aims for a new contract.

Mincey is scheduled to make $1.5 million in the final year of his two-year contract. He led the Cowboys in sacks and pressures last season and fell 11 snaps shy of earning a $500,000 bonus. The 31-year-old appears to want some guaranteed money and a boost to his salary. With the Cowboys adding RE Greg Hardy and second-rounder Randy Gregory and expecting a leap from LE Demarcus Lawrence, Mincey may see his snaps reduced a bit this season.

Cowboys RE Jeremy Mincey has been working at defensive tackle during OTAs.

Mincey led Dallas with six sacks last year, but is a candidate to move inside with the additions of Randy Gregory and Greg Hardy. The Cowboys are desperately looking to reduce DT Nick Hayden’s snaps, and playing Mincey at one-technique would get him and Gregory on the field at the same time. Mincey should rush the passer from multiple spots this season.

Cowboys RE Jeremy Mincey underwent surgery to remove bone fragments from his arm on Wednesday.

It's not an operation that should affect Mincey's status for the offseason program. Now 31, Mincey's six sacks led the Cowboys this season. Due a bargain-basement $1.5 million, he'll be back for 2015.
Jan 15 - 3:04 PM

Cowboys RE Jeremy Mincey (concussion) has been cleared to practice Friday.

He's expected to play Sunday after being concussed in the Wild Card win. It's amazing what Cowboys DC/DL guru Rod Marinelli has been able to do with guys like Mincey, LE George Selvie, and DT Tyrone Crawford. Mincey graded out as a top-10 pass-rushing 4-3 end at Pro Football Focus this season.
Jan 9 - 11:58 AM

The Dallas Morning News doesn't expect DE Jeremy Mincey to be a starter for the Cowboys.

Mincey inked a two-year, $4.5 million deal with the Cowboys in March and was viewed by some as DeMarcus Ware's replacement. Entering his age-31 season and tallying just five sacks the past two seasons, Mincey will compete for a reserve role. Maybe DL guru Rod Marinelli can help coax a big year out of Mincey like he did with penciled-in starter George Selvie last season.

Cowboys signed DE Jeremy Mincey to a two-year, $4.5 million contract.

Mincey, 30, got into hot water for rules violations in Jacksonville last year and found himself waived in December. The Broncos picked him up, and he served as a rotational end during their Super Bowl run. Mincey hasn't posted more than three sacks in a season since 2011, but the Cowboys are desperate to just add bodies to their paper-thin defensive line. He'll have a chance at significant snaps.

Broncos signed DE Jeremy Mincey.

Mincey was waived by the Jaguars last week due to poor play and violations of team rules. Perhaps a reunion with old coach Jack Del Rio -- now the defensive coordinator in Denver -- will get him back in line. Mincey is 30 years old now, but had 13 sacks between 2010-11 while playing for Del Rio in Jacksonville.

Jaguars waived DE Jeremy Mincey.

Mincey, who turns 30 Saturday, signed a four-year, $20 million contract in March of 2012 after he recorded eight sacks in 2011. In 24 games since, Mincey has registered just five sacks. He was inactive for Weeks 12 and 13 due to a violation of team rules. Couple that with poor play, the Jaguars decided to cut ties. Tyson Alualu and Jason Babin will continue to man the end spots for the Jags.

Jaguars DE Jeremy Mincey won't play in Week 12 due to a violation of team rules.

It's not clear what team rule Mincey violated, but he'll miss Sunday's game for disciplinary reasons. Ryan Davis will pick up the majority of his vacated snaps. Undrafted rookie DT Abry Jones could also be active this week.

Jaguars DL Jeremy Mincey has been medically cleared from his concussion.

He'll be back on the field Monday. Mincey is trying to earn a spot in what the Jags hope will become a deep defensive line rotation. Tyson Alualu, Roy Miller, Sen'Derrick Marks, and Jason Babin are already locked into major roles.

Jaguars DE Jeremy Mincey has missed the last few days of practice with a concussion.

Mincey was originally diagnosed with a "head contusion" over the weekend, but a neurologist changed that evaluation Monday. Coming off a three-sack campaign, Mincey has been demoted out of the starting lineup in coach Gus Bradley's new 4-3 hybrid scheme. He'll miss Friday's preseason opener.

The Jaguars intend to use DE Jeremy Mincey as an inside-outside rotational pass rusher this season.

Coming off a terrible season, Mincey has been demoted in the sense that he's no longer a starter -- Tyson Alualu is the new left end and Jason Babin the RE or "Leo" -- but the Jags still have plans for him. "We have a role for Mince, and we’ll use him in a variety of fashions," GM David Caldwell said. "He has some inside pass-rush skills and he has some outside pass-rush skills."

Jaguars DE Jeremy Mincey attributes his disappointing 2012 production to playing too many snaps and consequently wearing down.

Jacksonville had zero depth. "When you’re playing 80 snaps, no man to man [defense], can’t score any points, that’s what happens," said Mincey, whose sack total fell from eight in 2011 to three. "I think [the new staff] went back and watched the film, and you can’t blame it all on me. I did what I could. I played hard." Mincey may still not return as a starter in 2013.
