Kedric Golston - DL - Redskins

Redskins DE Kedric Golston is fully recovered from the torn MCL that ended his season in November.

Golston was a consistent member of the defensive line rotation before the injury. "I don't even notice the knee at all. I feel as good as I've felt in a long time," said Golston. "My elbows are feeling good, so I haven't felt this healthy in probably three years."

Golston appeared in nine games as a reserve last season, racking up 16 tackles and 1.5 sacks before landing on injured reserve with partial tears of two knee ligaments. He'll have to compete hard to keep his roster spot this year.

Redskins will place DE Kedric Golston (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Golston sustained a third-degree MCL tear and a partially torn ACL in the third quarter of Sunday's loss to the Dolphins. It's bad timing for the sixth-year pro as he'll be an unrestricted free agent this spring. Golston's season ends with 16 tackles, 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble.

Redskins DE Kedric Golston has been diagnosed with a third-degree MCL tear and partially torn ACL.

Golston should be sidelined for at least the next few weeks, if not the rest of the season. Working as a rotational pass rusher, he's notched 16 tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble. Kentwan Balmer will likely see the biggest increase in snaps in his absence.

Redskins DE Kedric Golston will miss a few weeks with an MCL injury.

Golston has been Washington's No. 3 defensive end, playing behind Stephen Bowen and Adam Carriker. The loss shouldn't be felt much barring a Bowen or Carriker injury. Kentwan Balmer may now step into Golston's role.

Golston, a five-year veteran, is in no rush to sign elsewhere. "I'm a Redskin," Golston said. "They drafted me. This is my organization. This is my home base. I'm going to be a Redskin until somebody tells me otherwise." Golston would be no more than a rotational end if the tender sticks.

Veteran Vonnie Holliday will fill in at right end for the remaining two games of Washington's nightmarish campaign. Golston, who is an unrestricted free agent this offseason, has likely played his last game in a Redskins uniform despite starting 13 games this season.

Redskins RE Kedric Golston confirmed that elbow and groin injuries have ended his season. He is expected to be placed on injured reserve.

Golston started the first 13 games of the season before suffering multiple injuries. He will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason. The team will sign someone off the practice squad to take Golston's roster spot, with DT Rashaad Duncan being the likely choice.

A rotational defensive tackle last year, Golston may be asked to play across the front in the new 3-4 scheme. Though he was originally slated to back up Albert Haynesworth at nose tackle, he'll play outside as well after the addition of Maake Kemoeatu.

Redskins DT Kedric Golston will have arthroscopic ankle surgery this offseason.

The procedure will remove bone spurs from his ankle. The try-hard "nose" tackle was affected by the injury late in 2008, missing three games. Golston will return in 2009 to compete with Anthony Montgomery for a starting job.
