Saints RT Zach Strief is considering retirement.

Strief is recovering from November ACL surgery. He's signed through 2018 but there's concerns about his health and role with Ryan Ramczyk locked in as the Saints' right tackle. Strief would likely have to settle for swing duties if he returns.

Saints RT Zach Strief (I.R., knee) won't return this season.

Strief underwent surgery two weeks ago to repair damage to his ACL and MCL. With first-round rookie Ryan Ramczyk acclimating nicely to right tackle, Strief faces an uncertain future in New Orleans. He's been with the Saints since 2006.

Saints placed RT Zach Strief on injured reserve with a right knee injury.

It's a big blow for a team still waiting for LT Terron Armstead (shoulder) to get healthy. Strief got rolled up in Sunday's London win over the Dolphins. Even Armstead can return for Week 5, first-rounder Ryan Ramczyk will slide in at right tackle. Now 34, Strief has been a Saint since 2006, and a starter since 2011.

Saints RT Zach Strief exited Week 4 against the Dolphins with a right knee injury.

Strief's right knee was slammed into by a Dolphins' defender at the end of a fourth-quarter play, and he immediately went down in pain. He was ultimately carted to the locker room. It is the same knee in which he sprained his MCL in Week 1. With Strief out, the Saints moved Ryan Ramczyk to the right side, kicked Andrus Peat out to tackle, and subbed in Senio Kelemete at left guard.

Saints RT Zach Strief (knee) is active for Week 4 against the Dolphins.

LT Terron Armstead (shoulder) was not able to return, but getting Strief back after two missed games is still a big boost. With Strief in the lineup, first-round rookie Ryan Ramczyk will likely move back to left side, allowing Andrus Peat to move back to left guard.

Saints RT Zach Strief (knee) is questionable for Week 4 against the Dolphins.

Strief returned to full practice this week and should be good to go after sitting out the last two games with a sprained MCL. First-round rookie Ryan Ramczyk has filled in at right tackle the past two weeks.

Saints RT Zach Strief suffered an MCL sprain Monday night.

It is perhaps the best-case scenario after he was rolled up at the end of a run play, but the injury will still keep Strief out for a couple weeks. With LT Terron Armstead (shoulder) already out, the Saints suddenly have serious questions along the offensive line. Senio Kelemete filled in for Strief on Monday night.

The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports "there have been positive signs" of RT Zach Strief remaining with the Saints.

32-year-old Strief has been a rumored cap cut, but 2015 first-rounder Andrus Peat's disappointing rookie season should save Strief's job. Strief only costs $3.5 million in salary and bonuses and is coming off a strong run-blocking year.

Saints RT Zach Strief said he's playing for New Orleans or nobody in 2016.

Strief is signed through 2018, but is a candidate to be released or replaced in the starting lineup. He said he's fine being a backup if the Saints go that direction, but the 32-year-old has no intentions of playing elsewhere. Through 16 weeks, Strief is Pro Football Focus' No. 21 tackle, excelling as a run blocker.

Saints RT Zach Strief was forced from New Orleans' Week 11 game against the Bengals with a concussion.

It's been an injury-plagued season for Drew Brees' right tackle, but he'd yet to miss a game. Strief should be considered week to week. Bryce Harris is filling in.

Saints re-signed RT Zach Strief to a five-year, $20.5 million contract.

Strief, who gets $8.5 million guaranteed, was our No. 2 tackle still available behind only Donald Penn. The 30-year-old veteran is coming off his best NFL season, as he started 15 games for the Saints while allowing just four sacks and five quarterback hits. The re-signing is excellent news for Drew Brees, as the 6'7/320 Strief has emerged as an elite pass blocker. He'll bookend with exciting left tackle prospect Terron Armstead.
