Free agent S Jarrad Page has reportedly given up football and signed a minor-league contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
A seventh-round pick in 2006, Page has made 45 career starts, but played just 20 defensive snaps in 11 games between the Vikings and Eagles last season. A three-time MLB draft pick, Page was last taken by the Angels in the seventh round in 2006. Although he was a high school star, Page struggled in his lone baseball season at UCLA. With zero professional at-bats under his belt at the age of 27, he is an extreme long-shot to ever crack a major-league roster. He's almost certainly played his final NFL down. Free agent S Jarrad Page attended a recent open tryout for Major League Baseball's Los Angeles Dodgers.

Page, who chose football over baseball coming out of UCLA in 2006, has been drafted by MLB three times. He was more of a high school phenom, hitting just .233 with three home runs and 19 RBI in his lone baseball season for the Bruins. Page may have been trying out for the Dodgers for fun, but NFL teams may frown upon the idea, questioning his commitment to the pigskin sport.

Vikings signed S Jarrad Page, formerly of the Eagles.

Page will bring much-needed experience to the Vikings secondary with Husain Abdullah and Tyrell Johnson done for the season. He should be in football shape, as he was just waived by the Eagles two weeks ago.

Eagles waived S Jarrad Page.

With Nate Allen (concussion) healthy, there's no room for Page. He had fallen behind Kurt Coleman and Jaiquawn Jarrett on the depth chart. Page could find a home back in New England's injury-ravaged secondary.

Eagles SS Jarrad Page has been deactivated for Sunday's game against the Redskins.

The Eagles' continue to play musical chairs all over the field. After a poor showing last week, Page is inactive in favor of Kurt Coleman, who draws the start at strong safety. Defensive coordinator Juan Castillo is grasping at straws ahead of this must-win game.

Jarrad Page has won the Eagles' starting strong safety job.

It was never much of a competition, as Nate Allen has been battling tendinitis in his knee. Page started 37 games in Kansas City from 2007-09 and has IDP appeal with a decent shot at 80-90 tackles. Kurt Coleman is expected to start on the other side, but he's looking over his shoulder at rookie Jaiquawn Jarrett.

Jarrad Page is tentatively expected to be the Eagles' Week 1 starter at free safety, ahead of Nate Allen.

Page played the entire first half of Thursday's third preseason game and handled himself well. With Allen not returning to form off knee surgery, the job will likely go to Page. There's some sleeper IDP appeal here, as the physical Page isn't afraid to put his nose in harm's way. He had 85 tackles and four interceptions with the Chiefs in 2008, but has been a special teamer since.

Jarrad Page will start over Nate Allen at free safety this week.

Allen is struggling to regain range of motion while returning from a ruptured patellar tendon. Mark Clayton, who sustained the same injury early last season, remains unsigned amid reports that his knee isn't ready for NFL action. It's a small sample size, but hardly welcome news for Ryan Williams' Dynasty owners.

Eagles agreed to terms with S Jarrad Page, formerly of the Patriots.

GM Howie Roseman's phone bill is going to be off the charts. Page was a reserve in New England last year, but started 37 games in Kansas City from 2007-09. The 26-year-old will add experience with two youngsters in line to start at safety for the Eagles. Page can also run down kickoffs on special teams.

The NFL has reinstated the Lions' seventh-round pick that was forfeited in the Jarrad Page tampering case.

The league must not have been all that convinced by the appeal, however, as they've opted to take away a 2012 seventh-rounder instead. Per PFT, if Detroit makes the playoffs, that pick upgrades to a sixth-rounder. The Lions must also swap fifth-round picks with the Chiefs.

The Lions have officially appealed the tampering violation verdict in the Jarrad Page case.

Commissioner Roger Goodell has yet to review the case. The Lions "firmly believe" there was no tampering, and Page's agent agrees. The original verdict would cost Detroit a seventh-round pick and a swap of fifth-round picks.

Lions president Tom Lewand declined comment on Saturday when asked if the team had appealed the NFL's punishment in the Jarrad Page tampering case.

The Lions had to forfeit their seventh round selection next month, and swap fifth-round picks with the Chiefs (Page's team at the time of the alleged incident). Detroit has almost surely appealed the decision, but there's been nothing to suggest the NFL will soften its punishment. For what it's worth (probably not much), Page's agent has maintained that no tampering took place.

Patriots extended S Jarrad Page a second-round restricted free agent tender.

Page saw rotational action last year at free safety, picking off a pair of passes. The former Chiefs seventh-round pick is a five-year veteran, so Page is highly likely to be an unrestricted free agent regardless of his tender.

The Chiefs will receive a seventh-round pick in 2012 to complete the September 4 trade that sent S Jarrad Page to the Patriots.

On the same day this was revealed, the Lions forfeited a draft pick for alleged pursuit of Page when he was still on the Chiefs' roster. The former seventh-round pick from UCLA may never experience the limelight like this again.

Patriots S Jarrad Page (calf) was active in Week 12, but didn't see the field.

Coach Bill Belichick said Page could have played if needed, but there was no reason to push him. In other words, he was available only for emergency. Brandon Meriweather and James Sanders will continue to share snaps at free safety.
