Bills signed RB Quinton Ganther.
Ganther has bounced around between the Titans, Redskins and Seahawks. He'll act as the No. 3 running back behind Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller, if he's active on game days. Mon, Nov 8, 2010 11:25:00 AM

Seahawks released RB Quinton Ganther.

It's the second time Seattle has released Ganther in five weeks. He's played in just one game this year, without a carry.

Seahawks signed RB Quinton Ganther.

Seattle cut Ganther late last month, but he'll now replace Chris Henry on the roster. Ganther offers better insurance for Michael Robinson, who is questionable to play in Week 8 due to a hamstring injury.

Seahawks released RB Quinton Ganther.

The coaching staff talked up Ganther as a short-yardage option this summer, but he's just not talented enough to make it as an NFL runner. His best role is special teamer. A Jeff Fisher favorite, he could end up back in Tennessee as the No. 3 back.

Quinton Ganther is reportedly heating up the Seahawks' running back competition.

Ganther is working at both tailback and fullback, and all indications are that he'll be given a fair shot to win a roster spot. Said Pete Carroll, "the fact that he's playing fullback as well for us and can double up and give us some hard-nosed running at the tailback spot is really a plus." Ganther averaged 3.2 yards per carry in Washington last year. He's not a serious contender.

Quinton Ganther's blood-alcohol concentration was measured close to the legal limit, a league source tells Profootballtalk.com

It's unclear if Ganther was on the right or wrong side of the 0.08 limit when he was arrested in California on suspicion of DUI Saturday morning. If the backup running back was indeed under the legal limit, he should face no repercussions from the Seahawks or the league.

Seahawks RB Quinton Ganther was arrested in California Saturday morning for suspicion of DUI.

We can sympathize with players taking advantage of the deadest time in the offseason with some good ol' partying, but driving home drunk after the party is a big no-no. A 26-year-old journeyman, Ganther was trying to make the Seahawks as a special teamer. This obviously won't help his chances.

Quinton Ganther is in the mix for short-yardage duties in Seattle this year.

"He plays in the 220s, so that is good size for us and he has a good low center of gravity," coach Pete Carroll said. Ganther scored three short-yardage TDs late last season for the Redskins. If his special teams skills get him on the roster, he could replace Justin Forsett and Julius Jones at the goal-line.

Seahawks GM John Schneider said that Quinton Ganther could play some fullback this season.

If Schneider is right, it would enhance Ganther's chances of making the team. He's not going to get any carries in Seattle's jam-packed backfield.

Seahawks signed RB Quinton Ganther to a one-year contract.

Though the Seahawks are looking for a physical complement to Julius Jones and Justin Forsett, Ganther proved late last season that he's stretched as an NFL runner. If he makes the team, he'll likely be limited to a special teams role.

The Seahawks will host free agent Quinton Ganther on Wednesday.

Ganther would do nothing to upgrade the Seahawks' rushing woes. The plodding 26-year-old could help as a situational fullback and special teamer.

The Redskins will not tender RB Quinton Ganther, making him an unrestricted free agent.

Ganther is still just 25, but reproved that he has no upside by averaging an atrocious 3.2 yards a carry in eight appearances last year, including a number of late-season starts. His ideal role is No. 4 back/special teamer.

Quinton Ganther rushed 12 times for just 27 yards and added one reception for seven yards against the Chargers in Week 17.

The special teamer turned feature back was unable to muster a legit rushing attack in three of the four games he started, managing just 3.2 YPC on the season. He'll head back to special teams duty if he manages to make a final roster in 2010.

Quinton Ganther managed just 13 yards on seven carries and caught a 16-yard pass in the Skins' Week 16 loss to Dallas.

He's not an NFL running back. Ganther's workload has steadily declined during his three-game stint as Washington's starter, and he is averaging just 2.7 YPC over that span with three fluky one-yard touchdown runs. Ganther won't be a fantasy option at San Diego in leagues that extend into Week 17.

Quinton Ganther rushed ten times for 21 yards and a touchdown on Monday night.

Ganther couldn't muster up much against the Giants, as they were blitzing heavily and were always in the backfield. He scored from one yard out late in the third quarter, and all three of his touchdown runs this season are from the one-yard line. Ganther lacks breakaway speed and faces Dallas' No. 6 rush defense next week.
