Raiders signed DE Jason Hunter.
Entering his age-30 season and coming off a year out of the league due to a torn triceps, Hunter has zero upside. But the Raiders will celebrate the signing as a victory. Expect Hunter to serve as a rotational pass rusher, a role that has yielded 11 sacks in 88 career games for him. Wed, Mar 13, 2013 05:56:00 PM

Broncos placed DE Jason Hunter on injured reserve with a torn triceps, ending his season.

He was never expected to return after going down midway through camp. Hunter appeared in all 16 games last season, but notched only 21 tackles and one sack in a part-time role. The emergence of second-round LE Derek Wolfe should blunt whatever effect the loss of Hunter was going to have on Denver's defensive line.

Updating a previous item, Broncos coach John Fox said DE Jason Hunter will be out four months after undergoing surgery to repair a torn triceps Wednesday.

He won't be playing football this year. Hunter is ineligible for reserve/PUP because he didn't begin camp on active/PUP, and the four-month timetable would have him back in mid-December. Hunter will be placed on injured reserve, ending his season. The Broncos' starting left end job should now come down to incumbent Robert Ayers versus impressive second-round pick Derek Wolfe.

Broncos DL Jason Hunter will be out at least two months after tearing his triceps Tuesday.

Hunter appeared to sustain the injury while hitting a blocking sled in practice. A 14-game starter over the last two years, he had been promoted to the first-string ahead of Robert Ayers at the beginning of camp. Now Hunter is a candidate for injured reserve. Ayers and second-round rookie Derek Wolfe will battle for reps. Hunter is not eligible for the reserve/PUP list.

Broncos re-signed OLB/DE Jason Hunter to a one-year contract.

Hunter was limited primarily to special teams and rotational line work last season following the arrival of rookie sensation Von Miller. He has appeared in all 32 games with Denver the past two seasons, and will continue to pinch in as a backup pass rusher.

The Broncos are interested in re-signing free agent OLB/DE Jason Hunter.

Hunter appeared in all 16 games last season, but made just two starts one year after making 12. He notched 21 tackles and one sack. He's received no known outside interest since the start of free agency.

Broncos DE/OLB Jason Hunter, who was struck by a kitchen knife in April, is doing "well," according to his agent.

Hunter needed several stitches in his left upper chest after the knife was thrown at him by his girlfriend, but it appears he'll be fine for camp. Police have ruled that that the knife was hurled "on accident" and Hunter's girlfriend will not be charged. Hunter had 60 tackles and three sacks last season for the Broncos.

Broncos DE/OLB Jason Hunter was taken to a Detroit hospital after being stabbed in the left shoulder Tuesday night.

Sources tell WXYZ in Detroit that Hunter was stabbed by his 23-year-old girlfriend, reminiscent of the Brandon Marshall incident with his wife last weekend. Hunter's girlfriend has been taken into custody, though he reportedly does not want to pursue felony assault charges. Details on Hunter's condition are scarce, but the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Broncos OLB Jason Hunter left Monday's Week 11 game late in the fourth quarter.

Add Hunter to the list of injured Broncos. It's unclear as to what is keeping him sidelined, but we'll bring you the latest when we know more. Update: Still no word, and we'll likely have to wait till Tuesday to find out more.

Newly acquired OLB Jason Hunter has picked up the Broncos' defense quickly and is pushing Jarvis Moss to start opposite Robert Ayers.

Coming off a 5-sack season in Detroit, Hunter may already be Denver's best option rushing off the edge. He's shown more pass rush than Moss throughout their careers, and couldn't possibly be much worse of a run defender. Either way, expect a much less effective Broncos defense in 2010.

Broncos signed DE Jason Hunter, formerly of the Lions.

A worthwhile pickup for the pass-rush needy Broncos, Hunter has seven sacks in his last two seasons, including five last year. He also plays special teams. The trick will be trying to learn a new position. Denver uses a 3-4 defense, and the 6'4/271-pound Hunter will have to work at outside 'backer.

Lions released DE Jason Hunter.

Hunter was a pleasant surprise last year as a rotational pass rusher and special teamer, but he was without a role after the Lions loaded up on the defensive line this offseason.

Lions re-signed restricted free agent DE Jason Hunter to a one-year, $1.759 million contract.

A free pickup last offseason after being waived by the Packers, Hunter surprised as a rotational pass rusher and key special teamer for coach Jim Schwartz. He's set to lose defensive snaps following the signing of Kyle Vanden Bosch.

Lions placed a second-round tender on restricted free agent DE Jason Hunter.

Hunter surprisingly receives a high tender. Though he's below average against the run, Hunter does provide a pass-rushing presence for the Lions. He'll obviously be safe at the cost of a second-round pick.

With Jared DeVries out for the season, Jason Hunter was elevated to the Lions starting left defensive end Tuesday.

Starting on the defensive line is a far cry from the special teamer Hunter was expected to be. So goes life for the Lions. Cliff Avril replaced Hunter in nickel situations.
