A jury has convicted a man for the attempted murder of ex-Jaguars OT Richard Collier in September of 2008.
Tyrone Hartsfield, 33, could serve as long as life in prison for the six gunshots that left Collier paralyzed, ending his NFL career. "I feel like I didn't receive a fair trial," said Hartfield, composing himself after "going into hysterics" in court. Collier knocked out Hartsfield in a bar brawl months prior to the shooting, so he had a motive. All six shots were to Collier's back. Fri, Nov 6, 2009 06:58:00 PM

Doctors revealed Monday that Jaguars OT Richard Collier had a leg amputated and is paralyzed from the waist down after being shot in early September.

This is unbelievably tragic. Collier had 14 bullet wounds and is back in stable condition, but his career is obviously over and Collier's life will never be the same. He was the third NFL player shot in the last 18 months.

Jaguars OT Richard Collier pleaded no contest Monday to a charge of DUI after he was found passed out at a McDonalds' drive-thru last Nov. 3.

The Jags don't seem worried about the arrest. They gave Collier a contract extension this spring and have him rotating with Khalif Barnes at left tackle during OTAs. There is a chance that Collier will start this season.

Jaguars signed OT Richard Collier to an undisclosed extension.

The Jags have brought Collier along as a developmental tackle. At 6'7/360, he is certainly imposing. Collier appeared in four games and started one last year.
