Broncos placed LB Brian Iwuh on the reserve/retired list.
Undrafted out of Colorado, Iwuh was a special teams ace with Jack Del Rio's Jaguars teams from 2006-2009 before spending the majority of the past two years with the Bears. Denver picked him up to pinch in on kick-return coverage for the playoffs. Tue, Apr 17, 2012 05:41:00 PM

Bears waived LB Brian Iwuh.

The special teams ace injured his hamstring against the Raiders last week. He'll likely receive an injury settlement from the Bears.

Bears re-signed LB Brian Iwuh to a one-year contract.

The Bears opted not to tender Iwuh at roughly $1.2 million in March, so it's a good bet that he's signing for slightly less. The 27-year-old is a core special teamer and solid reserve for the Bears.

The Bears did not extend free agent LB Brian Iwuh a restricted tender before the lockout began.

An ESPN Chicago did state that the Bears were interested in signing Iwuh to a multi-year extension, but they apparently weren't willing to extend him the one-year offer worth roughly $1.2 million. If extension talks reopen, the Bears may ask Iwuh to take minimum salaries in a deal that is incentive and bonus laden. Iwuh had ten special teams tackles last season.

Bears LB Brian Iwuh could possibly start for the injured Pisa Tinoisamoa (knee) or will at least share time with Rod Wilson in Week 14.

Wilson played strong-side linebacker Sunday when both Tinoisamoa and Nick Roach (hip) went down, but he's likely to share time with Iwuh, who filled in capably on the weak side for Lance Briggs in a game earlier this season. It's a situation to avoid for IDP owners.

Brian Iwuh will start at weak-side linebacker on Sunday if Lance Briggs (ankle) is unable to go.

Briggs sat out a second straight day of practice Thursday, but he usually ends up playing even after missing practice. Iwuh, a journeyman special teamer, would be a major downgrade in run defense against Marshawn Lynch and the Seahawks.

Bears signed LB Brian Iwuh, formerly of the Jaguars.

He should be able to fill the old role the Bears have been trying to replace since Brendon Ayanbadejo left in 2008. Iwuh won't help out on defense.

The Bears are expected to sign free agent LB Brian Iwuh after he participated in this weekend's minicamp on a tryout basis.

Iwuh was one of the most productive special teamers in Jaguars history, but adds little as a linebacker. Chicago has to waive someone to make room on the 80-man roster. Undrafted LB Matt Mayberry's days may be numbered.

Free agent LB Brian Iwuh will try out for the Bears on Friday.

The ex-Jaguar is trying to earn a job as a backup linebacker and special teamer. Chicago seems like an odd spot considering how deep the Bears are at linebacker with Brian Urlacher and Pisa Tinoisamoa now healthy.

Free agent LB Brian Iwuh will try out for the Giants this weekend.

A reserve linebacker and special teamer, Iwuh was just released by the Jaguars earlier in the week.

Jaguars released LB Brian Iwuh.

Iwuh appeared in 15 games last season, making two starts and 29 tackles, not including seven special teams stops after signing a three-year, $3.5 million extension. The 6'0/235-pounder should resurface as a backup.

Jaguars re-signed LB Brian Iwuh to a three-year, $3.5 million contract.

Iwuh is a key special teamer, but he doesn't see much time on defense.
