Cardinals LT D'Anthony Batiste was benched in favor of Nate Potter during Sunday's Week 9 loss to the Packers.
Finally. Batiste has been the worst left tackle in the league this season and is a big reason why the Cardinals' offensive line reached historically bad proportions. Potter is a seventh-round rookie, but he can't do much worse. Expect him to start in Week 11 when the Cardinals come out of their bye. Mon, Nov 5, 2012 11:21:00 AM

D’Anthony Batiste is in the driver’s seat for the Cardinals' left tackle job.

"Our hopes were he was going to take the right tackle position ... and be a backup for left tackle," said coach Ken Whisenhunt. But with incumbent starting LT Levi Brown on IR with a triceps injury, Batiste has asserted himself at the position. The preseason finale will ultimately decide whether the Cardinals roll with Batiste or seek out a veteran free agent like Alex Barron or Chad Clifton.

Unless second-year pro D.J. Young "wows" the coaching staff, the Arizona Republic expects journeyman D'Anthony Batiste to be named the Cardinals' left tackle.

Batiste was beginning to assert himself at right tackle before LT Levi Brown's season-threatening triceps injury. Beat writer Kent Somers believes rookie Bobby Massie will be the favorite to start at right tackle if Batiste is shifted to the blindside. An eight-year veteran, Batiste has appeared in 22 total games for six different teams, making just four starts. Young is starting Thursday's game against the Titans. Protection is going to be a huge issue for presumptive quarterback John Skelton.

D'Anthony Batiste will replace Jeremy Bridges as the starting right tackle in the Cardinals' second preseason game.

The hope was that rookie Bobby Massie would emerge as the starter, but he continues to run with the second team. Bridges, meanwhile, is working as the second-string right guard. The offensive line remains a major concern in Arizona.

Cardinals re-signed OL D'Anthony Batiste.

Batiste, 30, can play both guard and right tackle, although he hasn't started a game since the 2007 season. Batiste is mere depth returning to the desert.

Cardinals signed OT D'Anthony Batiste.

Batiste will add depth with RT Brandon Keith out for the season. Versatile veteran Jeremy Bridges is the most obvious candidate to move into the starting lineup.

D'Anthony Batiste has replaced Tyler Polumbus as the Broncos' first-team left tackle in Wednesday's practice.

This is another reminder that the Broncos desperately need Ryan Clady (torn patellar tendon) in the lineup. As bad as Polumbus was last season, there's no reason to believe the journeyman Batiste will be an improvement. He's started just four games in five seasons with the Redskins and Falcons.

Broncos signed OL D'Anthony Batiste to a futures contract.

Batiste spent the last month of the season on the Broncos' practice squad after getting dumped by the Redskins. The journeyman has good size and the Broncos could see some potential in him as a backup.

Batiste was signed off the Falcons practice squad a year ago, but he's been mostly a game-day inactive with the Redskins.

Redskins signed OL D'Anthony Batiste off Atlanta's practice squad.

The 6'4/320-pounder will add depth to a beat-up offensive line.

Falcons claimed OL D'Anthony Batiste off waivers from Carolina.

Falcons defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer knows Batiste and could convert him back to defensive tackle until Rod Coleman (quadriceps) gets healthy.

Panthers reserve offensive lineman D'Anthony Batiste was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon on Sunday morning.

Batiste was also charged with a window-tint violation on his car. The former undrafted rookie from Louisiana-Lafayette spent the end of last season on Carolina's game-day inactives list.
